Hello,
Can anyone recommend which app to use to tether an Android tablet (asus memo.pad HD 7) to my epic 4g touch? I feel like I have tried everything available and they all fail.
Thank you in advance.

It never fails, never had any problems with that one. The built-in ones are kinda sketchy, especially if you're (or the dev) modifying the services.jar in system/framework.
Thank you for the recommendation. However, neither the stock recovery or clockworkmod recovery work when I attempt to flash. I get a progress bar then the Android robot with a yellow triangle. I also cannot upgrade the Android OS. The phone always prompts me to update and the update always fails. Charging/data port does not work. Tried to explain to my wife that I rather fix the charging/data port, get a tablet and tether via my sprint epic 4g touch than upgrade to a new phone that is currently unrootable.

Follow the link Ryan gave you... when on that page look for the link the op gives for credit.. click that link.
It will take you to an app for the tether you can download and install via file browser/manager...
Then set up tether for this device... I use it all the time on cm/aosp/aokp roms for 4g tethering.. but never on gingerbread...

I'm confused... lol. Why are you stuck with gingerbread... use mobile Odin...
I haven't ever tried a one-click with it, so you could get you're partitions right first... but I ran JB roms before I did the one-click, with no ill effect. That I seen anyway... lol.
I'm not sure if you would need to update the bootloader... like on my tab.. but a quick search should let you know. I was never on gingerbread..so I don't know. But I haven't ever seen anything about our bootloaders on this device. Might be because our recoveries and kernel's are tied together, I'm not sure.
Also... I'm sure you need an updated version of cwm... but the mobile Odin way..with the el29 direct boot kernel.. then flash rom of choice will take care of that..
I have a little mobile Odin guide I put together for another member if you would like to take a look into this... I'm glad to help.
Thank you. I would really appreciate it. I have heard of mobile ODIN. This Samsung port issue. is really annoying.

Download this-http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.p...ls/Recovery Kernels/GB/Noobnl Direct Boot/TAR and flash with Mobile Odin after you have a ROM to flash on your SD (it will boot directly into recovery so get the ROM on your SD first).
Before you flash the ROM flash tdunham's JB Format All x2 zip here-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2077277-it will wipe everything so you don't have to worry about that part. Flash DirectBoot kernel in Mobile Odin, flash Format All zip, flash ROM, (flash GApps if using AOSP), then reboot and setup.
Downloaded first file.
Can you go over the order again?
I would like to do this correctly.

Not a big difference but a huge difference in how the phone files are installed. If u read the threads of the rom u like it will tell u use twrp or cwm. Some roms just dont load proper that is why the dev tells u what to use. I have had about 5 different droids and they all had different steps to load roms.
I'm a seasoned flasher and recently got this device. I have tried to flash several roms and every one I ran into this problem. I wipe everything and flash. Obviously clean flash each attempt. Where did you download the ROM from?
It may be checking the device model and looking for d2tmo. The T999V is d2can. I can try to check if you link to where you got it though.

Ok, it is looking for the device model d2tmo.
Try this. Unzip the Rom and go to .\Meta-Inf\Com\Google\Android\
Open updater-script using Notepad++
Search for and replace d2tmo with d2can. It should only be in the first line, twice. But search the file anyway and change it anywhere else.
Rezip the ROM and try to flash.
Do you think this will work for sure? I'm worried about bricking the device haha.
I'll try it
Sent from my SGH-T999V using xda app-developers app
Fairly sure. If its something else causing issues then you will likely get the same msg.
Basically its checking your build.prop for the model. It was looking for d2tmo so it would fail. We are just telling it to look for d2can instead.
Others have done this successfully and I really dont see much to worry about.
If you want to wait for someone else to confirm all this for you, im sure it wont take long though.

If you havent tried already, maybe flash the latest root66 firmware, to make sure everything is up to date, then try flashing CM.
If you mean the stock root rom, I recently got it from one of the forums here.
As a side note, I don't know if this is relevant information but before I tried flashing cm I flashed liquid smooth which worked but I decided to try cm instead. Before doing that however I did a factory reset.

Ok. I was just thinking about the bootloader thing. Apparently cm wont flash if the bootloader is up to date.
Maybe reflash the firmware and try again.

What he meant was your bootloader may be "out of date" but in your case it shouldn't matter because the CM build your flashing is from 4/11 and the bootloader change was made on 5/15. The LL1 bootloader is only required when flashing CM builds from that date or later. Earlier builds can be flashed without being on LL1. Plus there aren't any bootloader errors in your shot so I'm almost certain that's not the issue you're having. What I'd first recommend doing is backing up your internal storage to your external or pc then perform a FULL wipe (System, Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache), format your internal sd card, and finally flash the ROM and gapps. See if that makes any difference.

Ok guys, I have a big big problem. I flashed a ROM on my GNexus on saturday. It worked well, but Sunday when I turned on it the google logo has never disappeared! So I tried to go to recovery and full wipe my GNexus and then re-flash my rom and gapps. After the wipe, I tried to flash the rom but the process has failed. So now my GNexus has no OS so I can't use it. I tried to flash Stock Rom via Nexus Root Toolkit but the process doesn't work (it says "out of memory). So what can I do? Please help me!
P.S. Sorry for my baaaaad english:crying:
How old are you?
Use CWM recovery to adb sideload a new ROM... And don't forget to wipe data/factory reset.

How can I install CWM if I can't turn on my phone?
Sent from my N4 with PA 3.95 & Tapatalk 4
With the phone off, hold power and BOTH volume buttons.... Use volume up or down, your choice, to select Recovery Mode. That's assuming you even have ClockworkMod.

I only have TWRP :'(

Does that let you adb sideload?
If not, hold the three buttons to get to the boot loader, plug in your phone to your computer, and use the Android SDK fastboot tool to flash CWM recovery as a recovery.img from ClockworkMod's site.

Well that isn't dumb since you never used it.. Read first this whole story. Download fastboot and adb from here: http://dottech.org/downloads/adb_fastboot_and_other_tools.zip unzip them in a folder named Android so it should look like this: C:/Android/fastboot.exe (and the rest of the zip of course). Then download the factory image from here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=nl . When it's done downloading you should rename the file and put .zip behind the name. Then extract it in the Android folder. When you're done with that you must go into fastboot mode by pressing: vol up + vol down + power. Let the drivers install and then press the flash-all.bat in the folder C:/Android/name-of-your-factory-image/. THIS WILL WIPE YOUR SD CARD. If you don't want you're SD card to be wiped you must delete userdata.img before clicking flash-all.bat. If this didn't work just let me know.
