[Q] LG Optimus G focus problem - LG Optimus G (International)

Hello,
My LG E975 also sharp photos only at the macro distance, otherwise everything is blurry, I used a previous phone to take photos of documents, but now I have a problem to read. By LG PC Suite i have last update, when I tried another application from the market, the result is the same. In one review I found the same problem, are here any solutions? Or is it to RMA?
The picture is good for example.

Just took a photo with my OG. It is perfectly clear to me. Try to get a better focus by touching the screen.

It isn't possible to take o clear photo. For 95% of the photos are blurred. Maybe the problem is in official ROM? You have the custom ROM. Do you have photos from original ROM?
My photo with low distance: htp://imageshack.us/a/img571/180/8pum.jpg ...perfect clear and without blurr (double t in htttp)

Does the LG Optimus g have image stabilization? I find myself having to retake photos due to blur from hand tremble

That might be the catch. Epsilon is a stock based rom but has some camera tweaks. And also I have _Epic's mode applied. But I don't think that causes so much of an effect. I had stock before and don't remember having such a problem.

Can I install some tweaks on original ROM with root? Or is here a way to update and fix this problem from LG?

try camera zoom fx

I tried that. Sometimes clear photo sometimes blurred. (1 clear / 9 blurred)... its the same as default aplication. I think its a software bug, but i dont know where is software feedback. Where i can report this problem... ?

Afaik it doesnt have optical IS

Initially, forgiveness for bad English (Google Translate).I tried to answer the topic created about "LG Optimus G focus problem", but no success. I have a E977 (Brazil) and he has the same problem with the focus, nine out of ten pictures come out blurred. To revolve this problem, use the app Camera ZOOM FX and I adjust the focus to infinity mode. As the image of this link: (htp://img545.imageshack.us/img545/8396/9tvk.jpg) With this setting the camera works very well.

I tried that, but still blurred. Maybe in some other situations, but text on paper is still blurrer . We must to report this problem on LG technical support. I will call there tomorrow. You should too. I hope that is not HW problem but SW.
Sorry but i dont know, how can i answer on private message, i am new here.

I think this is a problem of SW and discard the chance of having relationship with HW (personal opinion without technical knowledge), because the other cameras using the problem decreases and when set the focus to infinity mode have no more blurry pictures. Anyway, as you suggested, I will contact LG to report the problem.

Camera blur on a flagship phone is inexcusable, I've had non flagship phones that take better photos

So, you have the same problem? Did you report it to LG?

I have the same problem, in stock and cm roms. No solution with trying different apps. It's an software problem of the roms. The timing of the focus is not right. Bad programming of LG.

No, I did not try. I had an LG 2x before. Good hardware for that time, bad software and service of LG. I bought this phone cause it was a good offer but I knew from my LG phone before that I can't exspect any service of LG.
As in the LG 2x section: the community must do the trick, if they want good software.
My opinion about LG? DON'T ASK ME!

So, the best is "auto" focus. My photos are the same, this is exactly the moment, when focus is working. My LG sometimes take clear photos, but are situations, when the photos are blurred....
Did you get answer from LG? My emails and messages on facebook are ingored. Nice support LG :good: ....

I got answer from LG.
It looks like global problem, please can you report it on software department? I thing its a big fail, on older mobila flagship blurred photos.

[Q] Photos with blurred borders and focus at center

Hi,
my Xperia S in the last months have problems with focus.
Camera photos have focus only in the center and the borders are blurred. Like Photoshop blur filter.
No one have this problems ? May be the rom ? It's stock Rom ICS .55
Before i had no problems.
Thanks for your replies!

ps this is an example ogt my problems. All photos are as this one. Changing scenes or settings doesn't solve problem.
Do you have any case on your xs ? Or something near the camera ?

correct me if im wrong but i think you're using manual settings
now in manual settings dont set your metering to center, set it to average and take a sample shot..and set your focus to multi auto focus
post another sample shot with these settings

None of these ....
I've already cleaned the camera with a soft clooth, testing all focus modes , reset phone.
None of these test works. The issue is present from 2 months , before i've no problems.
I think it's an hardware issue ...
Probably i want to upgrade my phone to Galaxy Note 2 so i'm thinking to sell it... what do you think ? Anybody tried the note 2 ?

Instagram problem, photo getting zoomed in after snapping

Im a huge Instagram user and I've been having a problem when snapping photos using Instagram.
Whenever I snap a picture, the photo will be cropped off 1/2 in on each sides thus ruining the composition. There are no issues on video though/
I'm currently on Omega v18 (stock rom based) and Im not sure if it's a ROM-specific problem or just issues of IG with the Note 2.
Can anyone else try this and see if after snapping a photo the final photo will get smaller or like zoomed in than whats showing in the viewfinder prior to snapping.
Thanks.
4.1 update doesny fix it.
Anyone kind enough to check? Im pretty sure most of you have Instagrams :/
No one has instagram to test this out?

Hi Chobie,
I have the same problem as you example. I took a pic of an apple, fit it into the whole pic and then when i snap, the end result is not what was seen before i snap. It sort of zoom in/cropped the photo such that you dont see the whole apple & the sides have been cut off. I'm also using Note 2 & i dont know when did this problem occurs. I searched all over the internet but it seems that no one is having that problem. My sister is using S4 but she doesnt have this problem.
Did you manage to fix it? I uninstall and install back the app, no help at all

Happening to me as well. The only solution I could find was to disable the option to "Use Instagram's advanced camera" under "Advanced features". This way it uses the phones camera and then asks you to crop the photo on your own.

LG Camera takes ages to save the photo and sometimes losses it

I've noticed if you snap a photo with LG Camera app and immediately press the back button or switch off the screen, the photograph is not going to be saved and you will loose it. You really need to wait until you see a preview of it in a circle on the right side.
And that time can be up to 2-3 seconds, which is really annoying.
Native google camera doesn't have this bug.
Has anyone else experienced such behavior?

No problem here...... Just tried it.
If I snap and immediately press the back button it quits the camera app but if I go back into the app the thumbnail of the shot is there.
So no, my G3 takes the shot and saves immediately.

That's why it takes a while.. HDRs don't render instantly and need some time to process. The reason it doesn't save when you back out is because it's still taking pictures.

So, I understand that, but why does it need to discard the photo if I close it too fast ? Can't it just schedule the processing in the background like Google camera does ?
With Google camera if it is in HDR mode and I switch off the screen immediately after taking a picture, the photo will still be saved.

I believe it's because the way HDR works is it takes multiple pictures at different exposures and puts them together so maybe the lg camera takes the pictures more slowly and you're quitting it while the shutter is still open?

NONSENCE is your BS, that you talking about. All other phones are unresponsive while taking HDR pictures. Because of simple fact that taking HDR requires he11 of lot of postprocessing. So why talk NONSENSE and demand G3 to make it instantly?

As I said before, a google camera app doesn't have this problem. It produces hdr fine, even if you close the app immediately.
Obviously you gonna ask why am I not using it. I find that lg camera produces better results in HDR mode.
I usually don't reply to semi trolly post but I just took an HDR and instantly hit the back button and it doesn't save. (Of course) but I did the same thing and waited MAYBE a second maybe less and the photo finished processing and saved even though I backed out.
@op does the phone close when you take a picture or are you just intentionally hiring the back button that quickly on purpose? I literally had to try to NOT take a picture to keep it from processing. In just curious why someone would back out of taking a picture each time so fast. Well an HDR anyway

I presume that LG camera made that behaviour intended, programmers decided that if back or home buttons pressed immediately after pic is shot then use decided not to save picture so camera stops processing completely and doesn't save photo on memory. I think it is not problem it is a feature.

1. I do not talk nonsense especially when photography is the subject.
2. My previous phone was a Z2 which I would hardly call inferior.
3. If you wish to take a non standard photo then you also have to allow the processor time to complete it's action. As such 3 seconds (which by the way it is nothing like this on my G3) is adequate.
4. What gives you the right to insult any user. All that was given to you was an example of a waiting period prior to doing something else. In no way did that give you the right to be offensive.

Camera make bad photo

Hi guys, I bought a Xperia XA2 and is a great device, except for one thing, or the camera, which has problems focusing. Let me explain: when I take pictures with the main camera before shooting the picture seems to focus and presents all the details, while when I go to see the camera taken this is blurred or not perfectly focused. I also tried with the camera manual but nothing changes, and yes, I also tried to put the object to be photographed to more (well over) 12 cm, but nothing. I also took the phone to assistance where I changed the camera but the problem persists. In the end I tried another camera app that seems to have solved the problem, but at the cost of taking pictures in 8mpx. The question then is: how can I resolve this error? And if I can not, which camera app would you recommend? Thank you so much in advance to those who will answer
Send it to the Sony service point to repair.
I've alredy done It but whitout results

Remove "http://www." from the link (like dropbox.com instead of http://www.dropbox.com). If it also doesn't help, replace "." with "[dot]" (like dropbox[dot]com instead of dropbox.com). That way you can post a link.
It is simple limitation for new users on XDA. You can ask moderators (by reporting your own OP) by asking them to remove limitations for you to share links to be useful for users. If you use it badly (spamming and/or breaking any rule) you will get penalized.
There are some mods with autofocus working, but HDR doesnt work on them. An example, bsg_test_8.1, and if you try any configureable mod, setting as hdr model 'pixel HW YUV' and image output 'YUV' fixes autofocus but breaks HDR (some apks dont take the pic at all, some others take green pics like whatsapp cam, with no hdr processing. It seems like HDR is breaking focus.
The real problem is finding one with both, autofocus AND hdr working... But im losing all hope.
I haven't lost all hope just because new Xiaomi phones have the same problem. If someone fix the problem for the new models (like note 7) I think we might have a chance here.

stop give false illusions, it seems that autofocus issue is a kernel related bug, this app does the same as the others
