Please help: Play store NO CONNECTION - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hi all,
please help. I'm desperate. For some reasons, just tonight, when I started play store, it showed 'NO CONNECTION - RETRY'.
My S2 is rooted, but running stock 4.0.4 since day 1 and it has been working perfectly.
My network (WiFi) is fine as I could send/receive gmail and access the web through browser.
I have tried all the following but they did not help:
- clear data, clear cache, reboot
- restore Google Play Store from Titanium backup (TB)
- restore Google Play Service from TB
- uninstalled Play Store update, reboot
- restore Google Play Store from TB, no help
I would really appreciate any help you can give. I don't want to do a factory reset.
I have almost everything I could find on google under "play store no connection" without any help.
Please help.
Thank you very very much!

Ok, got it back:
It's 3 am now but I'm happy
- restored Play store app+data
- restored Play service app+data
- restored Google Service Framework app+data
- not sure if this is related. I was trying to set up Google device manager (without success). I disabled it in 'sys admin' and also in 'GDM' after restoring the 3 modules above
- reboot and the Play Store is back!!!!!!

Funny behaivour after Nandroid Restore on another phone

My dad and I both have DHDs, he had a problem with his phone so I did a Nandroid backup and restored it on his phone by transferring the files over. This worked well, and I removed my accounts from his phone and restored his SMS, Contacts etc.
Weird thing is, when he installs something - it also installs it on my device even though we are logged on separate Google Accounts. I can no longer install apps from the Play store website because I receive the error, "There are no Android phones associated with this account". I have tried to remove the account and then add it again to my phone but that didn't work. I cleared the Google Play App's data and cache and restarted - that didn't work.
Any other suggestions?
Okay, so I was able to resolve this by:
Removing my Google Account
Clear Google Play app data
Restart phone
Open Google Play and Sign in
Install a GAPP (Youtube, Gmail, Maps etc.) app (or update) - this will force the Play store to recognise the phone through the PC.
I am now able to remotely install apps via my PC.
Really strange indeed

Maybe a file linking the two together?

Check if you have something like Titanium Backup or any other app that might be messing with the accounts. Try doing a wipe cache and dalvik. If the issue persist, then try reflashing a rom (after a full wipe)
You saved me!

I scavenged the web everywhere for a solution to this, and this is the only piece of information that actually solved my problem. Thank you for sharing!
This happens to me sometimes as I flash all kinds of roms, and restore old backups. It seems to have something to do with the device ID not being updated properly after a restore, or something. Anyhow, this does the trick without having to wipe the phone.

[Q] GN disappeared from play store website

Hello!
After cleaning the data of the google service framework () my Galaxy Nexus disappeared from the google play website. I can update and install apps from the device. Synchronizing of contacts etc. is working fine. But how to bring the device back to the play store website?
I tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24392898&postcount=105 but it didn't work.
Then I erased my Google acount from the device and applied it again... no improvement.
And I erased the cache/dalvik cache but it didn't change anything, too
Can anybody help me?
Thank you very much!!!
sorry to be not so helpful, but factory reset + wipe everything except system partition could be the solution maybe...

Hi!
I think I have found an easy solution!
Open "Titanium Backup" and choose "Market Doctor" in the main menu. Then select "user and system apps", mark all ALL apps and tap on the green check mark. Titanium Backup will repair all market links and a few seconds later your device will appear again on the play store website!

Ok, i solved this. Steps here:
1- Removed Google Play Services completely via Titanium Backup
2- Downloaded Google Play Services from apkmirror
3- Remame the apk file to GmsCore.apk
4- Move GmsCore.apk to /system/app (do not install) and set permissions to rw-r--r-- (644)
5- Reboot to recovery mod, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache, reboot system.
6- After that i got Play Store worked, Chrome, Maps and Drive didn't work so i uninstalled and reinstalled them, now all works.
Note re: Step 4--
I was only able to make this work after I actually DID install the Google Play Services apk from apkmirror
