How about these differences??
Faster processor at 2300 Mhz vs 1600
More internal storage 32gig vs 16gig
Better camera1013 megapixels vs 8, shoots video in 3840x2160 4k and 1080p HD
More RAM 3gigs vs 2gigs
Oh, and maybe a 64 gig SD card will actually work with this one lol

All these are good points but the Note 2 can use a 64gb SD card. The Note 3 is also suppose to have inferred as well. So you can use your phone as a remote control.
I am upgrading to the Note 3.

If you can find a Note II user that uses a 64gb card with no issues then let me know so I can find out their setup. Nobody that I know is able to use one. Not even on a completely stock phone. There are always issues that should not be there.

Meh I guess to eaches own note 3 doesn't really grab my attention as the note 2 did if I consider any device on the horizon its up coming nexus depending on the screen size

Help making a decision.

So after 6 years of being on my mother's cell plan I'm getting the boot. I have a decision to make now. In 3 weeks or so I'll be moving to Verizon and I'm having a problem making a decision on what phone to get. I'd like to get some pov from the community.
1. I could get the S3 but I don't see a big difference from my t989. It's just my opinion. I'm not to impressed with the S3. To me it just seems like an extra gig of RAM and that's it.
2. I could get a Galaxy nexus and save some money. Save some money till something more impressive than the S3 comes out.
What do you guys think? If I'm wrong I'd love to be told.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
The difference in money is not worth jumping to S3 from S2.
Nexus is good, but no memory expansion....so I'll pass on it.
I would wait for Galaxy Note 2.....Now THAT I will buy too, even
if I love my S2....
Just my 2 (billion) cents here...lol...

When talking on the phone (Note), use a small bluetooth.
And when you do something else on it, yes it will draw
a lot of attention...just remember...they are ALL JEALOUS of you!!!
So, it will be a "good" attention!
:good:
Try considering a prepaid plan w/ the use of google voice and VOIP program. I've heard it saves quite a bit of money.
And if you do end up going to Verizon, buy a Note2 and sell it. It'll probably sell pretty darn high if it's unopened.

I would wait for the Galaxy Note 2. If you don't mind being on a GSM carrier, than I might also wait for the LG Optimus Nexus. Some of the leaked specs for it include a 1.5 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 2 GB RAM, a 4.7 HD display, 8 mpix camera, etc. The best part is that the 8 GB model will retail for 299$ and the 16 GB will retail for 349$.

I called tmobile but was told they won't be able to receive any higher versions. I don't know if the guy knew what he was talking about or not.

I'm thinking of returning mine and waiting on a higher memory model, basically because Samsung didn't include Apps2SD capabilitiy even when the developer allows for it. The full version of "Need for Speed" alone ate 1.8 GB of RAM or almost 20% of available memory. I thought the advertised 16 GB would be enough but since less than 11 is actually available, apps are getting bigger, and I hope to use the phone for a long time I'm thinking that waiting on at least the 32 GB version might be a better plan.

Yes, exactly the reason why bigger internal space is great for apps. Music, video and photo could stay on the SD Card.
You guys know that with a custom kernel and flashing a .zip through CWM will swap the internal and external memory right? In other words, you can get a 32gb card and that will function as your phones memory and the 16gb would be treated like the external... Just sayin'

Sure it's circumvent convenient but not a deal breaker when I can insert a multitude of sd cards as needed and my library can grow with me.then again it's just a cell. Higher pricing just for added storage when you can get a base model and use as many sd cards as you need for free...all 16 32 & 64 iPhones do the exact same thing...don't provide an sd slot...the galaxy s3 16 & 32 do the same thing but one cost more money lmao....they are playing so many consumers it's not that deep be smarter than the carriers

Galaxy Note 2 - 1.75GB RAM?

When I go on on Quandrant Information on my Galaxy Note 2, I saw 1.75gGB RAM and I was like wtf? I go on System Information and I see Memory- Total:1834220kB, which is 1.75GB.
When I go on the stock Task Manager, and click on the RAM tab, I see xx/1.75GB
I am very confused as we are told the device will have 2GB of ram. Can someone please clarify this? Thanks!
That because its formatted and being used my system.

You never ever get to use the full amount in any memory device. Sd cards inside the phone are exactly what they sound like. ....sd cards. If you buy a 32 gb sd card you will notice that you only really get 29 gb of space. Another unknown fact about sd cards that most don't know is that they have their own on board processor. Fact for the day

Super stoked for the note 3!!!

Idk about anyone else but I can't wait for the galaxy note 3. I mean I will be sad to replace my note 2 but the only phone I would ever replace it with would be the note 3. Not quite sure the specs...rumors have been a 2.3ghz quad core snapdragon processor with 3gb of ram which sounds amazing.

Everybody is excited about the Note 3 because its predecessor, the Note 2 is a legendary device and arguably the best mobile phone ever to date. So the expectations are through the roof. Thats the thing, expectations. I think we are expecting so much out of this device that many of us will be disappointed. Here's what i think the note 3 should be in order to be a successful and a worthy upgrade:
- Specs ( samsung NEVER disappoints when it comes to specs on paper), Snapdragon S800 or Exynos 5 octa 2nd gen, 2-3 GB Ram, 32GB of storage minimum with expandable memory, 13mp camera just like the S4 but with OIS, IR blaster, dedicated camera button would be nice, 1080P display Amoled or LCD is just fine with me personally, gorilla glass 3, better speakers than the Note 2 already pretty good speakers.
- Enhanced S pen functionality, more pressure points, more features, more comfortable to hold, S pen to work with the capacitive buttons
- More useful features like Multi-window, S-buddy page, pop up browser. No need for gimmicks like smart scroll or smart pause that can potentially cause the phone to lag which leads to my next and most important point personally...
- NO FREAKING LAG!!!!!!! Just like the note 2 and not like the S4 when it launched. It needs to have an amazingly fast and smooth performance. If this isnt the case then it will not be worth upgrading from the note 2 regardless of the number of cores it has. There should be 0 tolerance with lag considering a snapdragon S800 or Exynos 5 octa SoC plus android 4.3.
- Design. I hope Samsung can be less predictable with their design, make something different from the S4, S4 mini and S mega 6.3. Thinner and lighter would be nice, less bezel and more comfortable in the hand.
- UI. I expect it to be very similar to the S4 touchwiz interface plus some additional things for the S pen. If it can change that would be nice but i wont complain otherwise.
- Battery life. The note 2 battery life is amazing, period. The Note 3 needs to be better, period.
- display size. 5.7 inch would be pretty nice. Some folks are suggesting that the Note 3 should have a 6.4 inch display just like the Z ultra but it woudn't benefit neither us nor Samsung. Future Notes would have to be as big as 6.4 inches or bigger otherwise it would be a downgrade. Bigger than 6.4 inch is definitely tablet territory so 5.7 inch is fine so next year they can do 5.9 and so on.
I think if Samsung manages to follow these points, the Note 3 will be unbeatable.
It'll also be nice to have some stable releases of CM and have full code for the SD800. I am very much so looking forward to upgrading to the note 3.
I love my note 2 but an CPU/Screen update is always welcomed
having faster processor and more ram is good and well but at the end of the day it all about OS and how it manages it resources. I mean look at apple and windows phones running less spec hardware but it the OS that make them stand apart from the crowd. Quad core processor really? **** the day I can run hard core applications like adobe or autocad or other enginering software then I would say yes we need a I7 processor. For daily use dual core is just fine. Yes to more ram but more faster processor why?

It isn't even just multiwindow....
Real multitasking is more than just that.
I actually do use it as well. The only way they can make money? They are the biggest phone manufacturer out there right now. I don't think that is why they're making money. Plus who is to say how many people or who uses what features? Just because I don't use some doesn't mean others don't.
So they change hardware, and introduce new features, don't all companies do that? lol

Yeah I know what you mean... I'm personally waiting for 64 bit, 1080p screen, 4 gigs+ ram, etc. So I'll stay with the even number devices. GN4 will be my choice!

Depends on what you were expecting. For me not being at least 6" automatically moved it to the not worth it category.
If you game a lot then you may want it since the mali 400 is showing its age in newer games.
I will probably go with the xperia ultra z or wait to see if some mega note 3 comes out later.
