I tried to flash the bootloader and JSS15R, de-odexed, but it can't get past the bootloop... Any thoughts? No tablet UI mod thing.
Tried to flash this, but it's still won't boot...
Any suggestions?
Honestly I'd use fastboot and wipe the entire device and then flash the factory images. That way everything is updated, you'll then need to fastboot flash a custom recovery.

Just Google "how to restore N7 factory image" and you'll have all the information you need. You'll need either the wifi-only or LTE factory images from Google, so d/l that first.

Do you know when the OTA for JLS36R started rolling out? If it was recently, like last 7-10 days, Google probably hasn't released the factory images yet, but should soon (assuming everything is OK with 36R).

You will get the prompt for it, but if anything in /system is modified (like if you're rooted, flashed custom kernel) it won't work...custom recovery won't work either. You can flash the stock recovery in the zip that holds the 36C files using fastboot (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img).
On my wifi I had a custom kernel, and when to use the "adb sideload" command to flash the official zip, and it failed due to the boot.img being modified (not stock), plus I had deleted some files from /system/app which it didn't like.

I flashed the MK3 modem, then MOAR v9.0.1 and lost my 3G data.
There are other threads here discussing similar problems.
Some said that the person lost their APN and suggested typing *#06#. I did that and got my MEID (it was not all zeroes).
Every time I type ##72786# now, i get the "SCRTN" screen and it reboots all by itself.
It rebooted, and when it came up again, it started going through the activation process. During Hands-free activation, I get the "4G" icon. Ditto for when it updates the PRL, but the icon disappears when it says it needs to reboot (and it never comes back...)
When I type ##786#, I can view RTN information.
When it comes back up, still no data. What am I missing?
I called Sprint to have them do a "data refresh" or "re-provision". Still no data. I'm stuck. Please help.
Have you tried flashing the mk5 modem? Or updating the prl?

Updating the PRL fails.
The only thread I see with an MK5 modem is for Virgin Mobile/Boost here. I can't use that if I'm on Sprint, right?
Isn't there something about zeroing out your MSL/MEID and rebooting?

Ok. I missed that in the thread. I have to wait until I get home to try it. Thanks.
Ok, when I restored my Nandroid backup, it apparently killed my TWRP. If i installed that *after* my last backup, that would explain it?

Just to be safe I would Odin back to stock, choose which recovery you want, I personally prefer philz latest because it let's you root your phone via the recovery. Then reflash the ROM of choice.

You have made it back and hopefully rooted once again....go into recovery and flash the philz recovery....do not restart after flashing.....you can go to advanced menu and should be option to reboot to recovery.....once back in philz recovery now.....go to wipe data/factory reset...in this menu choose clean to install a new rom.....then flash any rom.......and gapps if required...some roms need gapps others have it included....read flashing instructions on any rom you are on....
Hope this helps

Flashing any recovery or kernel trips the warranty bit. No way around that and no way to reset it I'm sorry to say. Since you've flashed recovery its likely tripped already so flashing kernels and roms won't make any difference anymore. The binary counter doesn't matter as its easily reset. But if you have a custom kernel or recovery it'll retrip to 1 every time you boot.

You can flash Any of these roms via Custom Recovery TWRP and you will do fine.
Do note, some people have mentioned that with a 4.2.x or 4.1.x Roms, sometimes their IMEI goes missing. So take a Nandroid and EFS Backup before hand.

Perseus mentioned the nv (efs) backup before. Easiest way to protect yourself is open a terminal emulator and enter this.
su

Device will reboot and create an internal, hidden backup of your nv data. I highly suggest doing this.

If you mean you made a nandroid backup, that is completely different and does not include any of the NV data. The backup I mentioned is intended to protect you from ever losing your imei in the first place.

I used this method.
Ok , first, never use anything you find in the international models forum for any US model. They are very, very different devices. If you made an image from mmcblk0p3 as stated in that thread, you actually made a copy of sbl2 I'm pretty sure.
Also, the imei, (the important thing here) is not actually stored on the efs partition as it is in some other devices.
Run the command I posted before for the best solution. If NV corruption is ever detected, it should auto restore from this backup during boot up.
And again, stay away from the international forums. Most of the info there will not apply to our devices here and many, many people have bricked due to that mistake.
And delete the backup you made. If you were to try and restore it to your device after updating it at some point, it would most likely cause a brick.
OK thanks I'll get on that . I flashed a remix ROM and everything seems good right now. I'll try to back it up today.

Read up on Kit Kat, you might not want to upgrade. You will lose write access to the SDCard. There are ways to then fix it, but you could lose function in some of your apps. Samsung finally adopted the Android specs for write access.
I cannot get my Note 2 into recovery mode. I am able to get to download mode and have tried installing a few different ROMS through Odin. The install results in a "Pass" but the phone does not make it past the Samsung boot screen. I have tried a few of the suggestions on different postings in the forums but haven't had success. I am somewhat new to the rooting community and am in need of assistance with this, I am getting nowhere on my own. Thanks in advance for any assistance you all can offer.

Sorry for the lack of details. I am sure I made a rookie mistake but heres the process that got me to where I am now:
I was rooted on 4.3 (used CF Autoroot). I was attempting to upgrade to 4.4.2 using EZKat's zip file, installing it from an external sd card throuh recovery mode. I did get that to take, but was having issues with the Samsung keyboard crashing (I now know there is a second file that fixes this, but got that info too late). So thinking I had made a mistake at that point I attempted to revert to the stock 4.1.2 rom, which also took. However, I then got a notification for an OTA update, and I went for it (probably a bad choice?).
The OTA update completed but on the reboot it started hanging at the Samsung logo. And that is where I am stuck now. I can get to download mode and Odin still lets me flash roms and gives me a "Pass" but the phone never gets past the boot screen freeze and I cannot enter recovery mode to factory reset or clear cache.
Thanks for your replies, I appreciate any assistance you have to offer.

If it won't boot on 4.1.1 you might have to go up to 4.3 or 4.4.2 to make the phone work again I tried to go back to 4.1.1 and I couldn't get it to boot but I didn't try flashing the bootloader but it won't hurt anything if it don't work

Here's how I rooted mine with no issues so far.
MAKE SURE THAT IN DEVELOPER OPTIONS YOU HAVE OEM UNLOCK USB DEBUGGING ON BEFORE FLASHING TWRP.
Flashed
a - TWRP 3.0.0.1-M
b - boot back into recovery (TWRP) and flash BETA SuperSU v2.68
after you do this reboot your phone to make sure things are good.
I then went back to recovery and flashed the Xposed zip and boot back into phone and install Xposed APK.
if you have the time flash the no wipe tar and try my method, check your PM shortly going to send you a link to my drop box where i have all the files needed in one place.

I flashed the chinese TWRP and rooted a few months back. Now, I want to upgrade to N, and will probably forgo rooting (main reasons I rooted on M was for some N features via xposed).
I was looking for a stock recovery.img for my specific variant, in order to flash that and then OTA, but I haven't had any luck. Then, I thought it might be best to just flash a stock M factory image and then OTA, to be safe, but I can't even find the US unlocked factory image anywhere on moto's site.
Can anyone link me to the right factory image and/or recovery? Thanks!

There are unsigned images for the RETUS:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/addison/official/RETUS/
Flashing sparsechunks, boot, recovery, and optionally oem will clear you for an OTA.

The partitions they fall under are: system, boot, recovery, and oem respectively (from previous post) when doing your fastboot commands. Be sure to flash the sparsechunks consecutively (0 through 10).
