Hi, on request of our fellow user @Viper_21 i built a tool that gives a bit more control to the touch2wake feature built into some custom kernels like googy_max and other kernels.
You have options to configure touch2wake on a more finegrained basis and up to higher values (seconds and minutes) as well as a different value for when headphones are connected. Also you can set it to forever when connected to a power source.
While some may consider this as useless, this may be helpful for special usecases as in car, where you can't easily unlock your device normally, or at home. I didn't even have the need for such an app until i did the first tests with it.
If you think it could be a nice to have thing, feel free to download and please leave a comment on how you use it and also about any bug you came across.

i got something weird, it doesn't require Root Access ?
maybe you should add a pop-up to tell that setting has been applied.
most important of all !!!
why can't you make number a little bigger ...
Nope, root acccess is not required to access sys/class/... folder. Realized already with scoobycontrol.
What number you want bigger?

ah, now i know what number you mean, but its part of the slider element in tasker, i can not modify this. only option is to have an extra number display somewhere but i think in near future i am gonna change the sliders against number pickers anyways....
the popup is planed for next release...

Edit: found it, but no, its different.
Touch2Wake is a kernel feature that lets you wake the device by a simple touch for a given time after screen goes off by screen timeout. No gesture needed at all.
This app gives control of the time you have from screen off to wake the device, but also lets you choose different time for headphone mode or when connected to power source.

Something funky with 1.06.... I don't see the number "rollers" as shown in your screenshot. Above each number there is only an up arrow, no down arrow below them. So can only increase numbers for now.
If I tap the number to enter a value manually, then screen gets all mangled when keyboard pops up and impossible to work with,

Excuse my ignorance, but what does touch to wake do?

please read the thread, i think i already described what it does. also you need to have a kernel installed that features Touch2Wake also called Touchwake.
Edit: ok, i did not... so here with the words of ezekiel, the creator of touchwake:
So with Touch Wake, one can wake the device from suspend (for a certain user-defined time after screen off) by touching the touchscreen or the touchkeys. Combined with a OS level tweak which disables the lock screen on timeout for a certain time or altogether (for example in CM 7.03, but also available as standalone apps from the Market), one can achieve the same functionality as Screen Dimmer. Compared to Screen Dimmer, Touch Wake has the advantage that the screen will not be blanked as long as the FLAG_KEEP_SCREEN_ON is set and also the battery drain while the screen is off will be significantly less because only the touch controls are kept enabled and the Android OS and running apps are properly put to sleep. For the record, with Touch Wake, while the touch controls are still enabled, the kernel is kept in a wake lock, so the battery drain will still be a little higher than for the normal stock screen lock...

Full screen is better, but not perfect (the decrease arrows appear now but are smaller than the increase arrows). Check attachment.
Keyboard mode is is still mangled like before.
Note that if I make a change to the headset value using arrows, then tap one of the global values to manually enter a value, then press back key, the headset value I chose before is not stored (goes back to previous value). Not sure if this is expected behaviour, but because the headset value has not Apply button, I owuld've expected any change to it's value be automatically applied as I change it.
Just as a minor improvement, you might want to add a Cancel button for those who made a change but want to exit without applying latest changes.
Headset values in fact should be applied immediately. Have to look at that issue a bit further. Cancel button is not needed imo.
For the graphics thing i can get that sorted, just a matter of size... with the manual input thing i need to wait for an answer from tasker dev, as it seems it is not meant for this.
Edit: just tested, and the headset values in fact are applied but on back the old values appear, when you exit the app and open it again you see that the values are applied thou...

Hi, I've done a search and can't find anything here (although my searching skills might not be all that good).
On my Milestone the volume rocker would let me change the ringer volumes like on the Galaxy S2 but with a small, but very useful additional feature.
When using the volume down button to reduce the ringer level, or to set the phone on vibrate only, if you pressed the volume down once more after vibrate, the phone would be set on silent mode.
This is actually really useful and I'm missing it a lot, as if you're busy and somebody keeps calling you back there's no quick way to just set the phone on silent. Or similarly if you're in a messaging app and somebody keeps messaging then the phone keeps vibrating again and again and again even though you know that you've received a message.
Is there anyway to make this modification on the galaxy s2?
(I'm using stock ke7 btw)
Yeah I really missed this feature from my Nexus S when I traded it for an Atrix.
Shame it isn't on the GSII... it'd be cool to have this feature again. Anyone...?
In the meantime you can use a widget to toggle between vibe and silent mode.
Hi yamanote, thanks for the heads up. Any widget in particular you would recommend?
Hope someone takes up this mod soon
I have Silent Toggle Widget (free, by Droidmania) installed. Nice icons and most importantly works (toggles between Ring, Vibrate and Silent)
Thanks, its working great

Widget Locker works well and replaces the lock screen which I hate on the SGS2.
I've seen several people complaining about this and started to wonder.... If you're willing to install a widget, would you be willing to drag down your Notification Bar and click on the fourth button (between GPS & Auto Rotate) to switch between Sound, Silent & Vibration?
Wow. I've import just flashed ke7 yesterday and didn't notice if that's what changed it, but on my stock s2 the fourth button there had something to do with network data mode.
Either way thanks alot for pointing that out! I'll ber using it until (if) somebody works out how to do the mod with the volume rocker. =)

If you can get that stock toggle to do that I'm sure you can get the volume rockers to do the same
Hey guys, I've made an app that emulates the old rocker functionality, it's a bit hacky so I made a 36 hour trial so you can make sure it works properly.
Advanced ringer rocker (trial)
Advanced ringer rocker
Thanks for creating that app.
It works fine on vr1.1, but three glitches I can see:

Going from volume to vibe works fine, but when going into silent mode it looks like there's another screen which overlaps the vibration screen.
Look at the image if you don't understand.
2) minor annoyance- the stock pop-up says 'Ringer volume' while the app's version says 'Ringer Volume'.
3) When going from sound to vibe it vibrates once for ~1 second, but when going from silent to vibration mode there are two short pulses.
If you can fix it and make it feel more stock then i'll buy it for sure

Because of the Android API limitations, this is unfortunately the only way I can make it work. It's not possible to disable the standard volume popup screen, so I just overlap my own.
The screen behind it (standard system popup) will be displaying an incorrect icon when you change from vibrate to silent or silent to vibrate, so I display the correct one over the top.
It looks slightly too low on your screenshot, I'm not sure what's causing that, it doesn't do that on my device (ZTE blade) or the emulator so I presume it's due to a different UI theme (?) Although that shouldn't cause it to misalign.

Do you mean the background colour? Is it different to your regular one?
Apps like Tasker or Timeriffic don't show any volume popups when they change the volume levels. Tasker even has an option if you want to show the volume popup, so I am sure it's possible, but it doesn't matter one bit. I'll test it out, because this seems all good to me. Thanks.

The ROM I'm on doesn't have a theme, its the stock Samsung look. And yeah I understand why you can only make it overlap- the issue I was describing was how the overlapped box was slightly lower than the normal pop-up
Just curious- would it be possible to disable the stock popup if I have root?

If I have vibration set to only in silent mode or always [on] then yes toggling between silent (vibe) and ringer does initiate one ~1 sec vibration.

Thanks for the great feedback.
Because I can't directly detect volume button key-presses (can only do that if you are the currently active activity) I basically listen for volume changes and calculate when to enter silent mode. Android responds to your key-presses as it usually does by displaying the (now incorrect) ringer mode popup since it's unaware of my app running around behind it changing the ringer mode.

With root you can pretty much do anything, so yes I would say that is entirely possible but I'm not sure how.
I can't think why the overlay isn't exactly aligned on your device, I've tried something that may help but if it hasn't fixed it then sadly I don't know what will.

I've fixed the typo, fixed the double vibrate. It's now an option under menu/advanced options, you'll need to disable it. It seems some devices vibrate and some don't (Gingerbread change?).
Also added a different style, stock/dark gingerbread which it will default to on 2.3.
I don't think it's going to be possible to make this work 100% on all devices, so I've dropped the price to $0.99
If you need more time to test these changes on the trial version then PM me your UUID (reinstall the app or clear data, then start it up without an internet connection and it will show your UUID)

Hey,
There was a thread like this a while ago (here) but it kind of died and the OP was never updated so I'm restarting it here
Here are tips, tricks, undocumented/lesser known features etc. Please add more and I'll try and keep this post updated. I'll probably try to categorise in the future as well and add more pictures.
--------------
General ICS
You can uninstall an app straight from the app drawer -
Simply drag it from the app drawer to the bin at the top of the home screen.
Removing the Google Search bar from home screens -
Just go into Settings > Apps > Google Search > Disable
When using an app which has been updated to use the new action bar, you can hold down on an icon for a brief description of what it does
Take a screenshot - Hold the volume down and power key (simultaneously)
On the volume bar, you can press the icon on the left to switch between ring and vibrate.
You can use the front facing camera to record 720p HD video
If you double tap whilst recording a video you can take a still image
Clock app
Whilst in the Clock app - tapping the screen will dim everything with your wallpaper in the background. Long-pressing the screen will black everything out and turn the clock blue

Clock app
When you receive an incoming call from a land line, it displays the location based on the area code
Hardware acceleration in apps -
Enable in Settings > Developer options > Forge GPU rendering
This can make some apps run a lot smoother, however it can also make others force close so you have to experiment a bit.
Owner Info -
In Settings -> Security -> Owner Info
You can enter info to display on the lockscreen, such as a name or a phone number to call if it is lost
Face unlock -
If you're on 4.0.2, you can take multiple pictures to improve recognition, for example in different lighting, with or without glasses on, etc.
When using slide to unlock, you can access notifications without unlocking by pulling down the notification bar as you usually would
Camera time lapse mode -
The Galaxy Nexus has a nice little feature which lets you create time lapse videos like this video. It's under video on the stock camera app.
Time lapse
Multi-touch bug -
There is a bug which sometimes stops the device registering input from both sides (seen in this video). A temporary solution until Google fixes it, is to turn the screen off and on again (solution from this thread)
Easter Egg -
Under About on settings, tap repeatedly on the version number for a little ICS picture. Tap and hold the picture for an animation.
Browser
Browser quick controls -
Enable in Browser Settings > Labs > Quick Controls
Removes the top bar and lets you access controls by sliding your thumb in from the side of the screen, great feature!
Quick controls
Long press the back button in the browser to get to History/Bookmarks
Inverted rendering in browser -
Enable in Browser settings > Accessibility > Inverted Rendering
Saves battery and makes night-time reading easier
Inverted rendering
Stock keyboard
On the prediction bar, tap on a word and slide your finger up to see more choices (you can also long press)
If you need just one symbol, press and hold the ?123 key, then slide your finger to the symbol you want, then release -- you'll automatically be returned to letter-entry mode.
If you long-press the stock keyboard space bar, it will allow you to select a different keyboard.
Other apps
Low speaker volume
There is a paid app on the market called Volume+ which is apprently quite good, allows you to increase the speaker volume beyond the normal limit (costs 99p)
Can't add Facebook account
This is a problem due to a dispute between Google & Facebook. There is a paid app called Haxsync which works quite well for syncing your Facebook pictures/status updates to your contacts (costs 89p)
Customise LED notifications
There is an app on the Market called Lightflow which lets you change lots of LED settings such as pulse time, colour etc. (Free or paid for £1.49)
Stop it going to call log after a call ends
Paid app called AfterCall (92p) will let you change what happens, for example go back to your previous app. Also two free alternatives: On Call End and Not Call Log.
Speaker Proximity
Automatically switches to speakerphone when you pull the phone away from your face, and vice-versa.
Reserved in case I run out of space.
Thanks, some useful info indeed in there!
I disabled google search bar but I can't find it anywhere to enable now.
Edit. its the last one on the app list.

Updated with multi-touch bug tip
I discovered this on my Captivate while running different ROMS, including CM7.
If you go into Settings then About Phone you can tap on where it says Android Version 4 times to see a picture of the android dude holding an ice cream sandwhich. If you touch and hold any part of the screen with the android on it then you will feel the phone vibrate a few times then be led to a cool animation.
*Note this also works in Gingerbread but only requires 3 taps instead of 4. I'm not sure if there's a cool animation in Gingerbread though.

- after a call ends you are returned to the call log; very annoying (especially when in Navigation); AfterCall by iMediot helps solve this problem
- another useful / cool app is SpeakerProximity; it will automatically switch between speaker and head output based on the values from proximity sensor.
Hello!
I'm an Android developer and I almost finished a new app called Deskbar Launcher.
I created it for many reasons. First I was fed up by the look of the system bar with Home/Back/Recent Apps and the huge waste of space it makes. Like many others I tried alternative solutions like HideBar and the likes but then I looked at my laptop and at its ribbon bar which I use all the time and I thought it would be a good idea to have something similar on Android.

Features :
-can replace your soft buttons (sadly Back button needs root, after lots of search I don't think it is possible otherwise)
-add shortcuts to your favorite apps on the bar
-music controllers to go to pause/go to next/previous song in any apps
-volume controllers
-lock button to minimize accidental input of your bar and soft buttons
-access all your apps in StartMenu as well as categories such as Pictures, Music, Settings, etc.
-(experimental)(ROOT)fullscreen mode.
Future features:
-Folders
-Themes
-Reboot button for root users
-etc
I developed it mainly on Nexus7, that's why I post here before releasing it on the Play Store. It is a Trial version of 10days and when you launch it you need internet access for verification, after it's not necessary except if you reload it. A licence key will soon be available.
There might be some bugs!
Questions
Q:I don't have Root and not having a back button is not possible for me, it seems I can't use your app.
Q:I already got rid of my system bar, it will cover screen content so it's not usable for me too.
A: You can! Deskbar Launcher has an autohide feature so you can still access your back button. Bring it up only when it's needed!
Q: I have one bar for soft buttons and notifications (no status bar on top) . Your app will cover the notification part and I won't be able to access my notifications
A. There is a setting especially for that so the Deskbar takes only half your device's width, in the future the width of Deskbar might be more customizable.
Q : Can I use it on my other tablet/phone ?
A. Yes! It is theoretically compatible with all 2.2 or + Android devices! There might be some problems on specific rom or with some manufacturers. Please report to me in this case.
i'll try and report,i haven't mean exactly what does (using it is more intuitive!)
thanks for now mate!
Will be testing this for sure!
Edit
Light usage so far
Pros:
- Quick easy access to your music, photos, and documents
- Completely changes look and feel of the bottom nav bar without need for root or new ROM
- can view and switch to apps of your choice quickly with out exiting current app
- in-depth settings with good amount of customization
- work around for non-rooted users
Cons:
- visual appeal isn't appealing( to me at least)
- nav buttons feel a little too close together
- cannot change the color of the bar
- auto hide feature needs work as it seems finicky
What I would like to see:
- short cuts to user defined app in menu
- options to change colors
- quick toggles in menu (WiFi, Bluetooth, etc...)
Other then that I really like it and its a good change. Will love to see the advancement of this project later down the road! Great work indeed!

Thanks for your feedback!
About suggestions and bad points:
-Yeah visual appeal is kind of generic, I'm not the best at design/art . Themes should give a workaround for those who don't like it in one of the next updates. (By the way there was a bug with the start button not showing the glowing icon when start menu was displaying . It's fixed in the new version, it's the same download link, uninstall is needed if you have the previous version.
-I plan on adding a setting to have custom distance between buttons because on some device space is precious and on others there's plenty of it.
-Themes should also address this issue
-Not sure what you mean by this, I admit it's not ideal because there's no animation, it just goes down after a 3seconds delay. I will add a smooth movement option in the future.
-user-defined shortcuts in menu is planned, as well as folders containing app shortcuts
-I'll try to add Theming fast
-Quick Toggles is indeed interesting, I'll think of ways to add it in the Menu.
Awesome! I see this as being a good hit

This damn thing is INTUITIVE. Seriously, I love the feel of it and it really looks quite nice on my N7. Cheers for letting us try this, I think its a really good fit and shows promise of something in the future. Killjoy question: what will the licensing price new?
Im really loving this! I do have have more thing that I would like to see added and that would be having resizeable options for the menu its self. More so users can choose exactly how many pixels the pull up menu actually takes up. I'm also picky like that though.

Very minor complaint: after about an hour of use, it starts to feel a bit sluggish. That is, I'll tap on home, back it recent and it'll take about a second to respond. I rebooted my tablet and suddenly I got my groove back. Maybe it's a memory issue? Just thought I'd chime in, I'm really enjoying this mod!
Love it so far!
Two little things:
-ability to change icons/icon sets of shortcuts
-expanded version of the menu to see more apps at once
Thanks

I'll need more info on this one, I did not encounter this problem. Was it only the soft buttons ? Did the other buttons (shortcuts, music, startbutton) worked correctly ? Did you add a lot of shortcuts ?

Hello!
Can you tell me when it's happening and if it's after a precise action ? Could you use the CatLog app (or any similar one) to get me a crash report ? Thanks!
You might be low on memory and the system decide to stop the app to free some.

Music buttons worked great, as did the launcher button. No shortcuts added. I'm wondering if the error came from my rom or what, I'm running slim bean beta 2 with faux beta 14b01. Haven't had any issues since restarting, maybe it was a fluke?
New version uploaded which uses less memory and has a new welcome screen ( not so well done but I wanted one to have a link to the video tutorial I finished ).
Link updated in OP

Maybe, or it's the way to simulate virtual buttons that can sometimes go wrong, it's kind of a hack but there isn't really any alternative. It should work most of the time and as well as similar apps offering virtual buttons alternative.
I have to go, I'll be back tomorrow.
EDIT:I forgot to add if you already installed it, erase app data before uninstalling and installing the new one because the way data was saved as changed.
Greats Job, Please add volume button up/down on navigation bar, thanks

I found what it was, it concerned all devices with Android version under 3.0. It's fixed (new version in OP) except maybe for the "Switch App" button.
Could you test for me or someone else with a device on 2.2/2.3 ? Thanks

Re: [APP][BETA][TRIAL] DeskBar Launcher will replace your soft buttons and more!
As soon as I noticed the trail 10 days crap I uninstalled it. Sigh. Why can't people do things without money motivating them?
I can see if it was finished but its not even close.
Re: [APP][BETA][TRIAL] DeskBar Launcher will replace your soft buttons and more!
What a great idea. Please keep the 10 day trial available once its more refined, I will definitely try and probably buy.

Sent from under your bed...
Find it difficult to switching between Landscape view and Portrait view when using the phone in bed, or horizontally on a desk? The screen keeps rotating back and forth when in a jolting car? They are no longer tough work with IntelliRotate! It allows you to rotate the phone freely anywhere and it will adapt the screen direction to fit your view.
How it works
There are 4 modes available now in IntelliRotate.
Auto
Simulate what the system accelerometer rotation will do, and then offset the screen by an specific angle. Quite accurate because only accelerometer sensor is used.
Absolute Direction
The most advanced mode. Given an direction (absolute 3D direction relative to the Earth) by pointing the bottom (buttons) of the screen toward, IntelliRotate will make sure that the content is always toward that direction.
The only mode efficient if you likes putting the phone on the desk.
However, due to the inaccuracy of the magnetic field sensor (compass) IntelliRotate uses to calculate the absolute direction, this mode sometimes performs badly.
Manual
Select a direction by clicking the pictures on "Basic" page or clicking the float button.
System
Turn IntelliRotate service off, and let system control the screen direction.

Very Nice. A few comments after a quick test.
I am mainly interested in the Auto (half) mode. And quick test it seems to work as wanted . I where planning* to automatically switch between the landscape orientations depending whether I was lying on my right or left side. I might not mean much in practice, which I will know after some more testing..
*I where planning on using this as a learning project for doing android programming, when (if ever) I had time and energy.
And quick comment about the radio buttons, it is not obvious, that they can be scrolled into view. I thought it was broken and outer rights modes inaccessible. Perhaps placing the vertically would be better.
I also like a quick toggle to enable disable it, e.g. widget or shortcut. I just discover this floating Icon and will see how well that work.
Great work

The mode selection is changed in version 1.1 now. I'm still considering other pieces of advice. Thanks.
IMPORTANT: Uninstall the previous version first or you will be puzzled. I've changed the package name since the previous domain name is already registered, so version 1.1 won't replace version 1.0.

Better
Another tip about your help text. Remove/disable/replace with a picture the controls. One thinks, this is the real program first time, but nothings happens, when operating them which is confusing. There is also the same problem with modes radio buttons scrolling horizontally and not all visibile..
Nice looking graphics.
I will try to use it in real life the next days and see how it works out.

It's just an apk. Install directly.
Note: It has been updated to version 1.6.
Thanks!
Thanks again for your effort Ibell.
A few more wishes/ideas.
1. A transparency slider for the floating icon would be nice. So it is still easy to hit, but less disturbing.
2. Floating Icon only appears shortly when phone is rotated. preferable in the center, so you don't need to look for it. Have a look at Adaptive Rotation.
3. Option to toggle between two rotation, instead of all 4 on floating icon. I prefer that over the dual rotation option, since it takes up to much screen (because at small size, the two buttons are too close). The space problem issue is less of a problem, if only appears shortly like described above and can be partially transparent, but I still prefer a 2 angle toggle option
Not working for me on Trickdroid 8 with ElementalX kernel.

I had this problem several days ago (no apks could be installed then) and finally I found that it was due to no complete wiping before I restore a ViperOne ROM backup.

Hi Ibell. Thanks for your great work. I really like it now and it seems to cover my need, though I will keep testing. Only thing missing, is option to automatically start on boot.
For your information I test one use case and that is easy switching between sideward use in bed an normal use and I can do that now
I obtain this by using the auto mode and ban 180 + 270 degrees. Just keep in mind, that is what I need and therefor have not spend time testing the other modes.
Some ideas:
- Profiles. define profiles of the current settings (basic), which you can toggle with the floating toggle. E.g. my use case profile 1 = auto offset 0, profile 2 = auto offset 90. If more that two profiles, have option to extend the floater for directly selecting the wanted profile.
- Application specific orientation or profile. Some apps. require landscape (games), while some other require portrait (Sense).
If you split some of the functionality into a paid version, I would gladly pay for it.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to add support for auto-start on boot and profiles. But I am not planning to make application specific profiles so far because Sense/most games/... have already defined their ideal rotation and IntelliRotate do not force them to rotate.

Ok. Yes maybe you are right. My experience was from a rotation locking app. Don't have a fresh example
This should work for any 4.1.2 rom for the note 2 that has a working Xposed installer and MULTI-WINDOW capabilities.
THIS IS FAR FROM PERFECT
I have been wanting to make my device float and resize any app. I didn't put too much effort into it until recently. I finally got the settings down to make this possible.
Please keep in mind some apps (especially stock ones) don't like to be resized so they will almost become unusable if they are resized to small, this is one of many reasons why I previously said that this is far from perfect. On the plus side at least it will let you do ANY app !!!!
I used NEXT LAUNCHER PRO for this cause it supports MULTI-DPI a lot better than TW does, but you don't have to it will still work with TW but it makes some of the drawables look weird.
INSTRUCTIONS:
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO A CWM OR TWRP BACKUP AND VERIFY THE BACKUP WAS DONE PROPERLY BEFORE YOU CONTINUE
1: Install XPOSED INSTALLER V. 2.4 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
Thanks to @rovo89
2: Install XPOSED APP SETTINGS V. 1.6 from here:

3: Install XPOSEDMULTIWINDOW240.APK from here:

Thanks to @Scalee
Thanks to anyone I may have forgotten
MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO PROPERLY INSTALL THE FRAMEWORK, APPSETTINGS.APK, AND MULTIWINDOW240.APK BEFORE YOU CONTINUE
Once the above are installed and working properly as per the instructions in the OP's of the DEV's mentioned above, you can continue:
At this point REBOOT your phone just to be sure all the installations and settings stuck. Open Multi-Window and add an app to it just to make sure everything works properly so far.
Open the App Settings App in your app drawer, should look like the one in this picture:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Search for and open Android System, should look like the one in this picture:
At the top there is an ON/OFF slider (as seen in picture below), slide to the right to turn ON.
Then, CHANGE the DPI to 240, and the Screen (dp) to 800x1280 (also seen in same picture below).
At the top there is a save button, now is the time to hit that, a pop-up will show that says:
Apply Settings: Also kill the application so when it's relaunched it uses the new settings? Click YES
Immediately press and hold the power button to REBOOT.
After REBOOT open the App Settings App in your app drawer again and search for com.sec.android.app.FlashBarService, should look like the one in this picture:
At the top there is an ON/OFF slider (as seen in picture below), slide to the right to turn ON.
Then, CHANGE the DPI to 240, and the Screen (dp) to 480x854 (also seen in same picture below).
At the top there is a save button, now is the time to hit that, a pop-up will show that says:
Apply Settings: Also kill the application so when it's relaunched it uses the new settings? Click YES
Immediately press and hold the power button to REBOOT.
All done!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now to learn how to succesfully make any app that is added to your FlashBar, FLOATING, RESIZABLE.
Turn on MULTI-WINDOW and INSTEAD of dragging out the first app, just CLICK on it and it will open in full screen, It doesn"t look like it now but this will be your first floater lol.
Next drag any random app (like settings or something) out of the FlashBar and drop it.
Now you will notice at the top of the first app that was added to the MULTI-WINDOW now has a PIN on the top left.
Click on the PIN to make it GREEN , FLOATING and RESIZABLE now. To move it grab it by top near the center and pull it around. To resize grab the edge of the left, right, or bottom side and resize.
Next, touch the random second app that is now full screen and hit the back button once and it will go away.
Now with the floater at the bottom, open FlashBar again, find the next app you want to FLOAT, and once again just CLICK on it and it will open in full screen,
next drag any random app (like settings or something) out of the FlashBar and drop it again.
Now you will notice at the top of the first app that was added to the MULTI-WINDOW now has a PIN on the top left.
Click on the PIN to make it GREEN , FLOATING and RESIZABLE. To move it grab it by top near the center and pull it around. To resize grab the edge of the left, right, or bottom side and resize.
Next, touch the random second app that is now full screen and hit the back button once and it will go away.
Do you see a pattern now, do for any and as many apps you want open at once.
Also after you make an app floating you can press the pin again and watch the pin turn GREY and the app will stay floating in the background instead of foreground.
GREEN pin = app floating in foreground.
GREY pin = app floating in background.
When all said and done you should be able to do this with any app:
PROFIT!!!!!!!!!!!
The above mentioned module called XPOSED APP SETTINGS is a wonderful tool for changing individual apps to make them visually fit your liking. Everything I talk about in the next few paragraphs is in direct relation to XPOSED APP SETTINGS.
NOW FOR A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE
Screen density
The quantity of pixels within a physical area of the screen; usually referred to as DPI (dots per inch). For example, a "LOW" density screen has fewer pixels within a given physical area, compared to a "NORMAL" or "HIGH" density screen.
Font Scale
The size of the font in the amount of pre-allocated space; measured by percentage.
Resolution
The total number of physical pixels on a screen; usually known as Screen (dp).
Xlarge Resolution
extra large resolution
Locale
This allows you to change the language of any app individually; without changing your whole system to a different language.
Fullscreen
Force the app into fullscreen mode while hiding the status bar that is easily accessible by pulling down on the top of the screen.
Prevent the app from going into fullscreen mode. Keeps status bar on screen while the app is open.
No Title
Removes title bar from app. Every app I chose this for force closes so don't mark my words.
Keep Screen on
This will NOT let your screen turn off while the app is on the screen unless you hit the physical power button.
Show when phone locked
Leaves app open in the foreground of the lock screen while app is open and on the screen
Orientation
The ability to change whether an app opens (portrait or landscape). The dropdown consists of
(default app rotation). Uses whatever the default orientation that is already written into the app
Normal rotation = Will rotate screen normally
Always portrait = The ability to FORCE the app into portrait mode ONLY
Always landscape = The ability to FORCE the app into landscape mode ONLY
Force auto-rotation = The ability to FORCE the app to auto-rotate (will edit after tested).
Resident
Keeps any app in memory (running in background).
Insistent Notifications
Insistent notifications repeat their audio, vibration, and light settings continuously until canceled. These Notifications are typically used for events that require immediate and timely attention; such as an incoming call or the ringing of an alarm clock.
No BIG Notifications
Makes the app notification in the notification dropdown smaller, like a small preview instead of the normal show everything notification.
Permissions
Allows you to revoke permissions from any app of your choice.
If you've come this far than you probably know that some apps look like they might be sized bigger or smaller than other parts of the phone.
That's because the system doesn't change the DPI and Screen (dp) automatically with some/most apps.
After all the changes, the GALLERY app title bar is too big, meaning the DPI did not auto adjust. In order to make everything fit in the title bar you have to lower the DPI to anything lower than 240 for THIS app ONLY.
Every app will need it's own custom setting in order to get it the way you want it. Please DO NOT post that this exact setting did not work for any other app cause it MAY or MAY NOT. Consider yourself warned

HOW TO DISABLE XPOSED APP SETTINGS
Being that this MOD is not perfect, sometimes you might need to disable Xposed App Settings if something goes wrong (example: I made a change to an app that I didn't like, after reboot I went to change the settings back and noticed the app didn't show up in Xposed App Settings, even after several reboots).
TO FIX THIS:
Go to XPOSED INSTALLER in your app drawer (some roms like jedi master have the xposed installer built into a custom app like jedi tricks app that @ptmr3 made for his roms) anyway once in the installer, click on MODULES at the top right corner, then uncheck the box next to XPOSED APP SETTINGS.
NOW REBOOT. You will notice that all the Xposed App Settings aren't enabled anymore.
Then go back to your Xposed App Settings app and find the app you had problems with, that started this disable process.
Now change the settings back to a known good configuration. DON'T FORGET TO SAVE before exit.
Immediately go back to your XPOSED INSTALLER, click on modules and recheck the box next to XPOSED APP SETTINGS to renable it.
NOW REBOOT AGAIN
If you followed the instructions given, properly you should have everything back to the way it was before the problem occurred.
@Fictionles made a HOW-TO make floating Windows minimize. Go check it out and give him thanks here:

Nicely done on the how-to OP! Great layout, good depth of instructions - great share, keep it up!
Works perfectly on Tweaked 2.4.1.
Now to try connecting this via HDMI to a 1080p monitor and, using a bluetooth mouse and KB, make this a portable PC.

I'm on master 16 with sabrekernel 35.6 with the ext2 system data and cache mod.
All of this is amazing with these .phones. I will be finally getting an mhl adapter in the near future. They aren't expensive.
I hadn't looked into Master too much because of the lack of multiwindow, but read in the dev thread that it was working past a certain version. So multiwindow (and this thread's particular mod) does indeed work on 16 for you?

This was done and tested on master 16 with sabrekernel 35.6 and the ext2 system, data, and cache mod. Confirmed. I'm waiting for a response from my brother in law that has an att note 2 with the same set up on whether it worked for him or not.
This is awesome gonna try tonight. Thanks bro. Got this link from the saber 32.2uc kernel thread you posted in.
