So I have more than 6 hours straight trying to unlock this boy and It's giving me so many problems. I downgraded from JB to ICS 4.0.3 and flashed UVLE1 Radio. Did the 30seconds/1minute procedure couple of times and 'nothing'. To my surprise I go and check the Network Lock status (*#7465625#) And says everything is OFF. It 'should' be unlocked but It still asks me for a sim card. Any help on this?
Things I've done:
- Flashed many different radios
- Tried the EFC repairer from the PlayStore
- Tried to Unlock via the S2 SIM Unlock app from the PlayStore
- Tried different roms(Stock and modded ones)
Bump
Asking you for a tmobile sim? Did you try other sims. Att for example

Odin recovery
I had that issue when I first got my phone going from JB to ICS as well. I did an Oden Stock Recovery or Return to Stock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513359&highlight=return+to+stock
Try using that, then going back to installing TWRP or CWM whatever you prefer, then go from there. That is what I had to do
Return to stock.
flashed recovery (TWRP or CMW)
Install latest radio if you want to go JB
reset
Full wipe
install Rom and Gapps
See if that works.

Hi I just flashed this new Modem and the radio on my phone is broken. Tried flashing back to UVKL1 and Blaze but still get the same error. When I go into the network settings its even acting like it can't detect the SIM. Any ideas?
Wow...you joined 18 months ago and this is your first post lol
Do you have a T989? What are you flashing from? What method did you use when trying to flash the new ROM? What error are you getting?
Thanks. I've never needed to post as I've always been able to find my solution searching on the forums.
I have a T989 and am on Darkside UCLE2 Beta 5. I flashed the radio from CWM. The error I'm getting is that where the radio icon should be its crossed out as if the SIM were not even in the phone. I can't even go to the wireless settings because its telling me there is no SIM. This happened immediately after I rebooted from flashing the radio.
Maybe a bad flash. Try Odin see if that solve the problem.

Since youre coming from an ICS ROM youre going to want to do a superwipe (tdj's superwipe...its in the dev forum) before you try to flash the new update. ICS partitions a bit differently than GB and that may be your issue.
Did you flash the radio without the RIL files?
if u have an backup try using it or ur going to have to do an dark side super wipe and reflash the rom again, if u have any important documents u should back them up

Backups don't save radios
I did spend about 4 hours on this area on XDA to try to root and unlock my new T989D.
To tell the story short, I was able to flash my Koodo T989D with T-Mobile radio before I could unlock it. That was done. However, now it lead to another problem.
1. whenever I use "Reboot into Recovery" from CMW app, it stuck and phone frozen from that point
2. when I try to Power off (or even reboot) my phone, phone seemed to be turned off (screen off) but soft button remained lit up until I pull the battery
This seems to be a rare problem. I am not sure what I did wrong. Any clue from you expert?
Simplest thing to do would be to Odin back to stock and root using superoneclick. You don't really need a custom recovery unless you intend to flash a different ROM.

i would try to wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache in Recovery...and fixing permissions...
Okay... tried everything no go! Decided to search for stock ROM (ODIN version) and flashed it from computer. All done, flash completed. Phone was unlocked by *#197328640# method and it remained unlocked after fresh flash stock ROM.
I have a SGH-I747 AT&T version, I unlocked it using the built in menus. I upgraded rom on there from the stock to HyperDrive, I am on Tmobile network.
After upgrading, I noticed the MEID was all 0's so I followed a guide on how to restore it using NV-items_reader_writer.exe by generating using another tool and then writing the information from a text file to phone. After that, the MEID got repopulated but I am still having no network.
My phone was working perfectly fine till putting this rom in, I did backups with ROM Manager but then flashed TWRP recovery and can't access the nandroid backups from ROM Manager.
What can I do next to get my calls/texting working again?
Go back to cwm recovery...
Yep, I reverted to CWM and that led to other weird issues but atleast my network started working. What I did next was flash a stock rom using Odin and then flashing CM10.1 on there. Now everything is back to working!
Hi Everyone
I just got the GS5 and planned to give my friend my old GS3, when I gave it to her it seemed to be working fine but she gave it back saying the camera & sound wasn't working (which I can confirm)... I have no reason to believe she did anything (other than put her memory card in the phone) so I'm guessing it's a software issue but all the things I've tried are getting me nowhere. So here's what I've done so far.
Basic restore (from settings menu)
hard restore including cach clearing via the system restore (Volume up + home + Power)
Using ODIN
Rooted phone (& confirmed root)
Flashed stock rom
Using CWM
tried to flash two custom roms & Gapps but they aborted install saying either the sd card or the actual file wasn't found
I can also say that although the SD card has been formatted & mounted CWM does not offer me to install from zip using it, only the internal and this didn't change when I used a different sd card.
Basically, I don't care if I give it to her rooted or with a stock rom, I just want to get the camera and sound working... Any ideas?
Odin flash stock or root66 firmware. Then Factory reset after making sure your backups are up to date.

I did an odin flash of the stock rom but it didn't fix the problem
But did you factory reset and test everything while it was squeaky clean?
If you odin stock firmware and factory reset afterwards, and you are still having issues it is very likely a hardware issue. Unfortunately theres not a lot we can do to help with that.
You might try running logcat and see if it gives you any clues as to why things arent working.

My LG G2 is on the latest version LS980ZVC rooted and latest TWRP Recovery(2.7.0.0). When I flash the latest CM11 nightly and GAPPS, Everything is successful. Problem is when I try to boot it, it won't go passed the LG Logo. I've tried factory reseting it through recovery while the rom is still flashed but to no luck.
I am not new to flashing as I've been doing it since the HTC Evo.
I've tried for the past couple of days searching through this site and the internet on my issue. When the ZVC update first came around there was a thread in the Sprint android development section that explained how flash any rom after the ZVC update and now I cannot find this thread.
Also, When I flash Mahdi Rom, it flash and boots perfectly fine. Only problem is, I get no data and service goes away completely and doesn't come back unless I reflash the rom. But it only lasts for about 5 minutes before it just drops again. When I switch back to stock and I find that I have to go into my mobile network settings and switch from global/wcdma back to lte/cdma in order to get service back.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I tried that as well and I would get 3G data but phone calls or texts didn't work either for me.
Zv8 modem
The CM11 nightlies aren't made to work with the new ZVC kernel and baseband. In order to flash CM11 from ZVC you need to obtain the ZV8 modem and flash BEFORE the ROM and GAPPS. Boot to recovery and wipe everything except internal storage 3x to make sure everything is wiped. Then flash the modem rom and gapps in that order exactly otherwise it won't work. After everything flashes clear the davlik cache and cache 3x then reboot to system. Been using this method since I got my phone and it works everytime with every ROM I've tried. Also for those interested in unlocking US GSM capabilities do this then install an app called Tellinfo, from there you can do everything to change over to your GSM bands and use a GSM SIM card. I've been on AT&T for 3 months now.
