Ok this is slightly annoying me. This seems to only happen while on wifi, and not limited to a specific carrier. I occasionally receive duplicate sms messages from everyone, and it seems to keep repeating every few seconds until I check the message.
Has anyone ever found a solution to this at all?

Hi there
For a while nowI've been experiencing problems with text messages not arriving, but they do end up in my sent items.
There is no real pattern to which messages do and do not arrive at the cellphone I'm sending them too, although I do notice that it ussualy are longer messages (i.e. a couple of lines of text instead of just 1 or 2).
I've tried 5 or 6 different roms in the last couple of weeks but I have the same problem with each of them so it is not the rom.
I've read somewhere that too much reflasig of your device can cause strange problems could this be what I'm experiencing? any help would be very much appreciated!
ive noticed this too! usually its quite a large text, along 3 sms amounts in one go. the recipent doesnt recieve the text but it is in my sent items. i didnt know whether it was the rom i was using , my operator or even a hardware issue but i know its damn annoying when sending important messages.
im on O2, which provider are you with?
I'm also on O2 and have occaisionally had this problem on my diamond, atom life and wizard. The way to avoid it seems to be....
1. Use Advance Config to turn on both Message Sent and Delivery notifications
2. When sending a message DO NOT close the messaging app until the notifications have been received. (if the message is more than one SMS long you will get multiple notifications)
For some reason, if you close the app too quickly, the message fails.
I'm on Vodafone NL
Thanx for the replies, I'll try your suggestions! hope it works, it's really irritating not knowing if my GF received my sms
So I seem to have a messaging problem I cannot figure out. I can't pinpoint exactly when it started happening but it was around the time I installed CM7 RC1 or nightly 38...
I only get my messages in bunches some time after they are sent. Its like after a while multiple texts get pushed through, just not when they were sent from the person. Sometimes i get multiple texts in the wrong order. I've also figured out the only way to get the texts to come through is when i call someone. Once i call someone, multiple texts push through.....really strange
Its like the phone has to actively access the network before is receives text messages...
I have no clue what this could be, any suggestions
Similar issue
I loaded the same Rom but it appears if I send out a txt with multiple recipients only one recipient gets it.
I'm having a weird problem with 2-3 people in my contact list never getting any of my text messages. I've tried flashing over many other roms and sprint even 'reset the device' remotely, to which nothing helped. Anyone ever run into this? Also, this problem doesn't seem to be on their end - as they can send me SMS just fine.
this is strange. now i'm only getting texts when i place a phone call, like 10-20 are coming in at once.
I have had this issue both stock and on every rom I've tried -- sometimes my phone retrieves text messages LONG after they were sent, and sometimes it fails to retrieve them altogether. This doesn't happen frequently, but maybe one or two every week. It's not the result of having no signal or anything like that - it just isn't getting the messages.
Also, I should add that sometimes google voice will get the text but messaging won't until later...sometimes messaging will get the text and google voice never will...and this message retrieval problem has occurred irrespective of whether I have messaging, handcent, and/or google voice on the phone.
Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a known solution?
One X on ATT. I'm receiving text messages late, sometimes several hours late. I won't receive any messages, then all of a sudden I'll receive a flood of old messages all at once. My phone is also sending people straight to voice mail a lot. All of this is happening while my phone has a signal. This is happening very consistently. It appears that others are having this issue. Any ideas for a fix?
