Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased an unlocked Sony Xperia SX SO-05D and am using it outside of Japan. I am not able to send or receive any MMS messages. I have updated the APN settings so that I'm able to get on the internet via data. When I go to the settings in the messaging app there's not even any options/setting for MMS like there was on my Xperia go. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance for your help or suggestions.

Hi, so I've put the Xperia Z1 Honami ROM in my Xperia Arc S and it runs perfectly, but now I cant send or receive mms.
My APN and SMS settings seems ok, and I've already downloaded internet and mms settings but I still cannot send or receive mms.
Plus my data connection is working...
I'm using Vodafone, from Portugal.
Help please :\

I don't use MMS but I might help. Did you try to point the APN to the MMS configuration? By default it is pointed to internet.
I've already create a new APN just to MMS with the data that vodafone give in their forum and still cant receive or send any MMS
I've noticed that my Sony Xperia Acro S sends random sms from sms history to my contacts when phone restarted, and my friend with sony xperia phone has same problem. So we thought that it's the problem in Sony Xperia applications and I've noticed that Smart Connect (sony xperia app) have permission to send sms, so I rooted my phone and deleted it, but that does not helps.
Now I removed sim card from my phone and trying to find solution. Maybe someone had same problem and knows the solution? Or maybe there is any application for android to track which application is sending sms?
Hello,
I can't send or recieve MMS messages on my Z1 Compact.
I have verified my APN settings are correct. (My provider is Telus.)
I have tried Google Messaging, Hangous, Textra, and 8SMS.
I'm using Slim-amami-4.4.4.build.9.0-OFFICIAL-8314.
I have scoured the internet and tried most of what I found.
Any help would be appreciated!

It might have something to do with the size of the picture attachments. I flashed an RU version of the .108 firmware when it came out, had the same problem with MMS. Turns out the standard size for a picture message on the RU build was 350k, in the UK service providers have a limit of 275k. If no one else in the Slim thread has this problem then it's time for a complete wipe and reflash.
Have you tried the Slim thread?
Thanks for the reply.
I've ruled out max size as a problem because I can't even send an empty MMS, and because I can't receive MMS. I have posted in the Z1C Slim discussion, with no response.
I'll try a reflash and see what happens.
Cheers
I think I remember having a similar problem a few years back and discovered it was because I hadn't activated mms requirement with my carrier. Strange but apparently true.
Update: It's the ROM
With a clean install of Slim-amami-4.4.4.build.9.0-OFFICIAL-8314, and the included messaging app, I still can't send or receive MMS.
With a clean install of cm-11-20141112-SNAPSHOT-M12-amami, and its included messaging app, MMS works just fine.
Can anyone point me the right direction for troubleshooting this issue? Thanks!
I have received an XZ2 compact docomo from Aliexpress and am trying to get it sorted out.
I pretty much have everything usable on it now except for sending MMS messages. I have manually set up the mms access point as per Optus instructions, but still not working. When I first added the access point I had a choice between the internet access point and the mms point and I could send MMS messages but had no internet. I have tried all sorts of configurations and cannot get MMS to work again. Anyone who has been through this before and can guide me in the right direction would be very welcome.

I managed to get the MMS to work, but not quite at the moment. By using my carrier's settings in an APN for MMS, for the APN type, I put in "default, supl, mms" and I have to select that APN and MMS can send and receive, but there is no mobile data or internet. My carrier settings are for the APN type to be "mms", but that will not work and MMS will not send and receive, also the select dot for the APN you can choose from is not there when the MMS APN is set to"APN type mms". I have other Xperia phones and i know the carrier settings work on those phones, but not on the XZ2 docomo phone. I am not sure what is conflicting or missing for the MMS APN to not automatically send and receive MMS like it should. Hope that makes sense.
