[Q] S-Pen app to edit .doc file - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Im looking for app suggestions for an app that will allow me to take hand written notes on a word document. I have been having some issues with Polaris that after I save a hand written note on a .doc file, when i open it again, my note will be moved to a different spot on the page or even a different page completely.
I have lecture notes, but cant seem to find a way to import a file to it? am i missing something or does it not support that?
Thanks!
*sorry for the duplicate threads, originally posted in wrong section by accident

You could convert the doc file to pdf, then use adobe reader to make the annotations

[Q] Polaris office opens docx files incorrectly

Hello, I have recently had an issue on my phone where documents opened up by polaris office created in word format incorrectly when opened up in polaris. For example, if the document was originally created with two tables on two separate pages, it opens up in polaris as two tables superimposed on each other, very messy. The particular document I am referring to was repaired by me rather quickly but I am worried about more complex documents being messed up. How can I fix this issue? Thnx in advance to anyone who replies
Note: sorry I should have been more specific, the issue only seems to show itself with docx files, not the regular doc. file type.

Any ideas?
I think you'd get better answers by redirecting this question to polaris dev than on here cos this appears to be a specific app issue.

Hi guys,
I have just released a new slim pdf annotation app that targets those of us who want to annotate while we are reading documents. This app is not for note taking (for those who need that I recommend Papyrus).
My app is the slimmest PDF reader, with pen and marker annotation, I have seen. It is easy to use, and it allows you to annotate and highlight as you read. Exactly as you do on paper. It is extremely easy to switch between the pen and the marker; and to toggle colours.
Also – the app recognizes the difference between your finger and the stylus. Fingers are used to move, zoom and erase. The stylus is used to annotate.
A free version of Stylus Annotator is available on Play. Please try it and rate it.
I tried this and found it useful
iAnnonate
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.branchfire.android.iannotate
I've tried em all. If you're looking for something that you can take notes directly on pdf's while keeping the searchable text xodo and ezpdf are the best. XODO has much better performance and UI but EZpdf has way more options except it's clunky and ugly.

Importing & annotating pdf and ppt

I'm a total noob as I'm brand new to Android and Play Store and whatnot with my purchase of the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014).
I'd like to import pdf or ppt into a program so I can use my stylus to annotate on them. From what I've read, apps such as S Note, Papyrus and Lecturenotes can do all of that. However, for whatever reason, I could never find the option to import the pdf or ppt in any of them. Can you please help a newbit out? Thanks very much!
@tandoru: As far as LectureNotes is concerned: LectureNotes cannot directly handle PDF, it needs a free helper app PDFView (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.acadoid.pdfview or http://www.amazon.com/Acadoid-Developer-PDFView/dp/B00CPR4L6K/) to convert the PDF file to its own format. Restart LectureNotes after installation, then there will be additional menu entries and the PDF import settings will be accessible.
PPT needs to be converted to PDF first.
Thanks very much!! I'll give that a go!
Transferring Hard Copy to Tablet
I have a similar question. I recently purchased a galaxy note 10.1/2014. My goal is to transfer my lecture notes, currently in a big binder, to the tablet. The notes are hard copy text with script annotations on many of the pages. I assume that I either need to take pictures of each page, and convert them into pdf files, or scan them into pdf files. What is the best way to do all this and organize the notes into folders for each lecture – HandyCam, CamScanner, S-Notes, Evernote, Lecture Notes, etc? Beyond this, I would like to add images and videos, if possible. Can PDF files be inserted into any of these apps, which would then allow further stylus annotations?
@grossm: How to best scan your documents is mainly a question of how many pages we talk about. If you have only a handful pages, a camera scanner is certainly fine; if you have more than a dozen pages, consider to purchase a scanner device, as you do not need to manually adjust page boundaries; if you have a lot of pages, consider a professional scanning service, which is certainly the most convenient but also most expensive solution.
In all cases, you will have a PDF file at the end (or something that can be converted into a PDF file) and you can import the PDF file into the notebook.
Thanks. I've tried the Canon app - works pretty well.

[Q] Can not paste large typed note files from Clip-Tray

Guys,
Here's a problem that has me confused ~ With the exception of Evernote, no matter what Notes app I use if I open a large document file and select all the typed content then copy to the Clip-Tray, if I then go to any other notes app and select paste, only the top half of the notes in the doc file get pasted.
However, if I do the same in Evernote, all the docs notes get copied across!
It would appear this problem is isolated to my G3 because if I try and do the exact same on a different phone, the entire doc and all it's notes gets copied and pasted across.
Any ideas why there is this limitation?
P.S. I can't use Evernote because this particular doc has a lot of passwords. As such I need to use a secure notes app (which I have 'msecure' and have tried the same with others).
Further confusing ~ Even with only half the typed notes copied and pasted, if I then try to edit and type in the missing notes, although the keyboard pops up and I can type, however nothing gets added to the file.
Basically you can happily type as much as you want but nothing is added on screen or in the doc file.
Thanks in advance.
Anyone........ Any ideas?
It's driving me nuts.
I tried installing another notes app and same thing happens, I load a notes file into it but I can't add any more text to the file.
So no one has any ideas or thoughts on the subject?

Google ebook and S-pen

Hello, I am considering to buy Google ebook. I clicked on a sample button and the ebook was launched by some kind of browser. I tried to select a word or a series of word using the S pen but this function did not work.
1. How come the S pen features do not work on Google ebook? Any way to make them work?
2. If I want to underline, highlight, annotate text and pictures using different colors, what can I do?
3. Can I convert ebook into pdf format so that I can view and annotate using ezpdf viewer?
4. Do I need to have internet connection in order to view ebook? I wonder if it will be downloaded and saved to the Note PRO locally.
Thanks.

Have you tried opening the epub in Moon+ reader, Aldiko or Mantano reader?
Converting to pdf can be done on pc with Calibre.

If you launched it via the website on the device, it's a temporary file that you can't access. On a Mac it might be located in Temporary files, provided Apple has such a folder.
But if you install one of the apps you should (mind you, I've never used Google Books) be able to select it to open in one of those.
I clicked on Play Book and I could view the ebook from there. However, I cannot find the location where the source file is saved. I want to transfer the source file to my Mac to conversion to pdf.
I can also find the ebook after logging into my google account from Mac. When I clicked on it, it opens. I also cannot find the source file.
On Google Play Store in a web browser on a computer you can go into books and then my books... Each of your books will have a 3 dot menu that has download options for epub and pdf.... Keep in mind that you are dealing with DRM/copyrighted material so don't expect to be getting unprotected files out of the application...
What you end up with are not straight epub or PDF files though. No idea what they are but that's as far as I got with just a minute of searching via google.
Good luck.

I have tried that already. For the book I got, clicking the 3 dot menu gave me two options: remove from my library, about this book.

Odd. I wonder is it's a regional thing.
