[Q] Note 2 GT-N7100 Accelerometer & gyroscope not working HELP!!! - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi ive searched high and low but cant find a solution to the problem i have. I have a note 2 international GT-N7100, Ive recently replaced the whole front module as I dropped my phone and broke both the outer glass and the inner screen, (at this point I was running Bobcat ROM 10.1 with persus alpha-36 kernel) both before and immediately after all sensors worked perfectly then a couple of days later the accelerometer and gyroscope stopped working, i searched the web and found that most people suggested reverting back to stock ROM..... I did......and they worked again so i re-flashed Bobcat ROM and they still worked...well for the day, then in the evening they stopped again and havent worked since, i have tried the previous solution of flashing stock ROM/Recovery/UNrooting but still nothing, does anybody have anything for me. Maybe a way to reset the sensors or a file that could help. Thanks in advance.

I have a similar story - was running one of the Cyanogenmod nighties, all sensors working OK. Flashed CM 10.1.3 and they stopped working. Timeline something like this:
1. Flashed cm 10.1.3, no sensors (verified by running Androsensor - reports "waiting for event")
2. Factory reset, nandroid restore back to nightly release - sensors working again
3. Flashed CM 10.1.3 again, sensors working
4. At some point later, sensors stopped working again
Will try the factory reset - re-flash again but interested to get someone else's thoughts on this - anyone else had similar problems with CM 10.1.3 on the N7100?

Possible fix
Here is a solution to sensor problems, especially after flashing custom firmware to the GSN2 is this:
Turn off auto rotate, power off, boot into Odin/download mode. Once there - pull battery and reboot. Turn auto rotate back on, should work fine. Otherwise may be a hardware or firmware issue...Hope this helps somebody.

Thank you

In My Note2 rotation sernsor, gyroscope has stoped working. Before helped wipe dalvik cache and cache. After reboot rotation worked to first deep sleep phone, after I must repeated the procedure. But now I check on 3 unoffical roms, and 1 oryginal software and sensor not working. After procedure from this thread - not work again...

what i have tried and tested
Tried 2 working digitizer and three working ear piece ribbons
and recently changed the sliding ribbon due to the common wear and tear problem
flashed .58 firmware (with custom kernel and stock kernel) FAILED!
tried doom kernel and lupus kernel, no difference still wont boot into recovery
stock rom and custom roms, still wont work
First digitizer failure started off as temperamental were if just pulled out battery and restarted it might go way and then became laggy
then last time it work perfectly for 12 hours and then suddenly it completely stopped and never worked again:crying:
Has anyone had similar problem or know what could be causing it as i have tried everything I can think of.
I know its not rom, kernel or firmware causing problem as i have stuck to using gingerbread OS

Help with GS3 constant rebooting

Hi I have MOAR v5.1 with Ktweaker installed and everything was working fine for more than 6 months. Suddenly just yesterday, my phone keeps rebooting itself so I decided to perform a factory reset and reinstall the MOAR v5.1 because I made no nandroid backup earlier lol. After installing MOAR v5.1 it works for a little while, then my phone resets somehow automatically. Right now I can't tell whether my SW or HW is failing. It seems I have to start from scratch by erasing internal storage, or wipe system? But if I wipe either of these, do I lose root? I am not sure but I need some debugging help.
Thank you,
Update: Something weird is that when the phone is off and I plug in my charger it does not come up with the battery icon with the level of battery. It comes up then goes away. I am wondering if my phone got short-circuited somehow?
Update2: I have tried getting to download mode in order to Odin the tar file. Somehow my phone shuts itself off when its in download mode after a few seconds. I think I have a hardware failure. I have dropped it in water a few months ago but it was working fine since then. Can anyone else confirm?
It's called SDS sudden death syndrome. Your power button has failed it's a known defect on the S3. Some users have had some luck blowing compressed air in the power button area and playing with it to get it to work until they where able to go to sprint for repair.

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 Freezing, Auto Shut Down, Bluetooth not working Issues!!

Hi all,
When I was failed to flashed my Galaxy Note 2 N7100 to Sungsonic HD V7 and Paranoid rom, then I tried to flashed back to official 4.3 Jelly Bean on my Galaxy note 2. After it done, I'm facing issues like freezing, auto shutdown issues and bluetooth is no more working. When my phone is sleep or locked, no matter how many times I press for power button or home button it wont awake. Sommore, it will frequently auto shutdown or restart phone. While the phone is freezing, I only can hard reset or pull out the battery to restart my phone, but it is useless because after i turn it on, it will freeze after I turn on my phone not more than 5 minutes.
P/s: I tried full wipe/ Factory reset many many times already, It not working. Flashed via Odin with official 4.3 Jelly Bean, the problem is still happening. (I was using this rom and it was fine but now it is turn like this...)
Does anyone face this problem? Can anyone let me know how to solve this problem? Is it hardware problem? I flashed to almost all custom rom already, but this bug is still occur. I have no idea on how to fix this problem already, Can someone tell me how to do it >.<
Many many thank to you if you can provide me the solution... T.T

[Q] Samsung Note N7100 stuck boot loop when unplug, but when charging loads the KitKat

Hi Guys,
've flash my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 to 4.4.2 KitKat it was successful, but after a few days my note 2 keeps auto shutting down randomly and sometimes I can't turn it on from sleep. I thought I've just missed something when flashing to 4.4.2 KitKat, what I did was to re-flash it and check if I've missed something but not. After I re-flash it, I've encountered this problem. I'm stuck at boot loop, I've done the Wipe process it was successful, but it didn't fix the problem, what I've noticed is when it's NOT charging or plug to PC it is stuck at boot loop, but when I plugged it to PC or charge it it continues loading the KitKat, sometimes prompting that it's not charging.
I'm wondering what could be the problem here. I've google any possible problem, I can't find any similar problem to mine. Can anyone help?
I'm still try any possible way to fix... HELP!

I exactly encounter the same issue on my Note II. It seems that the automatic reboot (then the boot loop) when the phone is unplugged is generated with apps (or system) using internet connection or the camera.
Please help ! :crying:

I had a similar problem with my note 2 N7100.
It used to reboot every 30 minutes.
The best solution was to reinstall the firmware using ODIN.
First you need to download the firmware from sammobile and put the phone in download mode and install it.
Hope this solution helps you too.

Thank you anish. I already tried this solution (with stock firmware and Cyanogenmod 10.3 &11) but it didn't work for me
The phone boot only happens when I unplug the USB cable and launch an app. If I do nothing after unplugging the cable the phone don't boot immediatly.

Hi guys ! I finally found a temporary work around to avoid automatic reboot. After multiple tests I noticed that the issue seems to come from CPU usage. My phone never went to deep sleep and often stayed around 1600MHz.
The work around was to go to Preferences > Performances > Processor/CPU > Strategy select "userspace" . The CPU goes down to 800MHz but I don't have any more automatic reboot when the USB cable is unplugged.
After reboot the boot loop is still there (so I need to put back in the USB cable to boot normally). I was wondering if the boot loop comes from the boot.img file...

Ive literally tried everything .even repartioned the phone . it works fine in recovery and download mode but as soon as i want too boot to android unplugged it restarts . when plugged it has no problem
Funny thing. I have a factory Sprint Note 2 with the latest kitkat updat and I am experiencing the same problem. Phone has not been rooted or messed with. If anybody come across a solution let me know. I booted the phone and unplugged the power button to verify and it does the same thing. Only stays on when in airplane mode or charging.
One more thing. I tried somewhat to do what was posted above about performance / cpu power. I put the phone in powersave mode and checked limit cpu and is is fully operation. problem gone. If I turn power save mode off I'm back to square one.
To late. Took a picture by mistake and phone jumped into boot loop.
i have GT-N7100 and same problem phone is stuck on boot loop when unpluged
---------- Post added at 04:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:24 PM ----------
i just tought maybe it needs new battery. cause before i unpluged it it showed 67% then bootlooped 2x then i pluged back in and it shows me only 5%. i think its battery cause it cant dishcharge in 1 or 2min
My initial problems were that it would drop signal and show an x with no bars intermittently. then i started having problems anytime the phone demanded use. Picture, internet, video. tried a few things listed above. Still would go into a boot loop when not plugged in. Battery would charge normally and show it percentage like normal. It would reach 100% with no difference in charge time. When battery saver is on it would not have a problem unless I use an app that demands more cpu usage, network connection, battery consumption. Put a new battery and problem is gone. some people say the battery show swelling but my battery looks identical to the new one. no swelling and it is not deformed in any way.
It also solves the problem for me ...but i dont know what to do after the restart ...have u found a permenant solution

I was thinking. If you flashed with a bad battery whats there to keep it from affecting the flash / update. The stock system doesn"t allow an update unless the battery is charged. It doesn't know if the battery is faulty. Try to reflash after a new battery has been reinstalled and charged to full. It's just a thought.

Where is the Preferences section? I am unable to find that on my Note 2 settings.
Experienced the same thing and this is the first time I had this. I was playing a game after I fully charged my battery and suddenly it turns off. So I waited for it to turn on where I noticed that it keeps on turning on and off and stuck on the " Samsung Galaxy Note 2" logo screen. Then I tried several things like clearing the cache and dalvik but it just do the same thing. I re-flashed the 4.4 ROM that I was using but sadly it does the same thing. I then noticed that if I plug in the charger it works normally and does not boot loop. And as soon as I remove the charger it will keep on restarting on and off on that screen. I was thinking that it might be a hardware failure or the battery itself. So I went to recovery mode and unplugged the charger, it stays on. Went to download mode without the charger and it stays on. Freakin' weird. I am about to flash a different ROM and will wipe everything and see what happens...
Fully charged the battery to 100%, unplugged the charger and it started to boot loop again. I allowed it to boot loop once and immediately went to recovery mode and saw that my fully charged battery went down to 3%. Tried different ROMS (Omega, DN3, and Phoenix), I still have this issue. Now can use my Note2 as long as the charger is plugged in...
Change your battery and solve the problem ?

Sleep/Wake problems [SOLVED]

So i was using Darthstalker v3 and arter97 kernel 9.3 with no issues.
Suddenly one day, i noticed screen flicker when waking the device, followed by hesitation. So my first step was to wipe the dalvik/cache. That apparently did not help.
I then lost my bootup logos, as well as shut down, along with the screen pretty much refusing to come on.
I used smart switch to emergency recover the stock firmware. Nothing. Then i Odined a stock untouched rom. No change. Once i actually got the phone to render the screen in recovery, so i wiped everything three times, and and flashed darthstalker v6. I also rooted the phone again just before that. I
So when the phone is powered off, the battery icon is present, and the screen wakes to that no problem. Since i set the device to never timeout while charging,
when i plug it in, the screen comes on, but as soon as i try to touch it, poof, the rendering of the screen goes. But, while this occurs, i can hear the icons being pressed,
etc. Completely stumped as to what to do. Can someone help?
[SOLVED]
strangely enough, I found a solution in a most peculiar way.
I managed to finally get into the phone by charging to 100 percent. Then, I downloaded flashify, and attempted to flash tekxodus rom, as well as selecting dalvik and cache wipe.
The flash did not work. the phone just rebooted. Then, I downloaded rom manager premium, and then rom manager attempted its prerequisite attempt to detect my recovery. (up until that point, I had twrp installed).
The detection lingered, so I pressed the back key and selected reboot into recovery. Surprisingly enough, I was back in Stock recovery.
So apparently the solution to the anomaly I encountered in the OP, is to either follow the simple steps above, or, to flash stock recovery in Odin. If that is at all possible for the user. I can confirm the above worked for me as I tried everything for the last week and this was the only method that worked.
The shutdown/startup logos are back, with no screen flicker or hesitation on sleep/wake.

yeah i just suddenly started having this problem. my phone would reboot itself and then it would be updating apps as if i just flashed xposed or something, my phone would have issues with wifi, flickering lockscreen, and if you rub the screen while its off which wouldl show you information stream doesnt work either. Decided to dump the rom. Am going with the TEKXodus N5 with arter kernel

It's just like I told you. When I read that you had experienced the same precursors that I came across with the rom, I had a hunch you would be soon after posting the exact issues that I eventually ran into.
So when you download Tekxodus and flash, please keep me informed as to if it resolves the issue. As you are aware, stock firmware has not resolved the problem for me, but then again devices vary.
So enjoy the fix if you ever run into the above issue.
Im fine with stock, but I miss the fun of trying new roms.
