After I flashed the last CM nightly can't send SMS anymore.
Looking over the net I found that it can be the SMSC, and in fact probably it is because I typed *#*#4636#*#* on the dialer and in Phone Information the SMSC was empty.
I found the right one for me (Wind Italy) which is 0791932350585800, I typed it and refreshed.
Then I rebooted the phone and tried to send and SMS and still nothing, but looking at the SMSC it was empty again...what should I do?

Try the newest radio or an other ROM?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Premium HD app
Since everything else it's ok I suppose this problem is something with settings, so if it's possible i'd prefer not to flash anything
same here, with Carbon Rom (CM Based)
Hello, unfortunatly that's not a ROM or Radio or hardware/software problem.
the SMSC is written itself to the SIM CARD, and this is the solution i've come up to fix the problem...
Sorry if the english from here on is bad, i've translated this from my mother language to english, because i can't be bothered to write this again in nice english, sorry
-----//----
So, your SMSC is wrong/doesn't exist, this is what you do.
Go to to hidden thingy (*#*#4636#*#*) and press the first parameter, Informations.
You scroll down and see: SMSC (blank) Refresh Refresh.
The first refresh means save, the second (right) means to see the current SMSC (none)
Now, normally, you clicked on the second refresh, inserted the number, clicked on the first, and voilá, problem solved.
No.
I've been two days without great information from google, but I found out for myself!
According to google, we have to convert the SMSC number to a PDU hexadecimal (??), So for Portugal vodafone, this is the number: 0791539111161616, you alredy have yours, if not, search google for PDU conversion, place your SMSC, (with the plus sign) and copy the first 16 digits, thats your PDU SMSC number.
Now, you would insert this in SMSC's cell phone, clicked the first refresh and nothing, tried it for 2 days straight.
Today, tried an app, GO SMS, and gave it some settings to change the SMSC, and it worked.
So, for it to work normally, you have to do the following.
1 - * #*#4636 # * # *
2 - You click on the information
3 - Go to the SMSC, below and click on the second refresh (right one)
4 - Insert you SMSC.
5 - Click the first Refresh, AND RIGHT AFTER YOU CLICKED THE FIRST REFRESH, just Reboot the cellphone, (click left refresh, shutdown - turn on)
6 - All is good now

You're welcome

in the secret menu there is no smsc number, but i can send SMS XD
Dunno, I'll try for the third time...
Be sure to get the PDU Hexadecimal number CORRECT! (+351 or your country's number..)
If you're not able to get it to work, you're doing it wrong...
Give me you're SMSC from your country and operator, and i can give you your PDU...
On the net I found that the SMSC for Wind Italy is +393205858500 and the PDU should be 0791932350585800
I tried many times with the method written in the first page (and by the way when I click the second refresh the PDU appear) but still I can't send SMS.

HI!
Can anyone out there help me with a registry tweak to display in tf3d the active line of my phone network?
I mean when my "dual SIM" it's selected on business number to show me business or the number instead of VF-RO, and when i change to other line to display the number or personal.
Thank you!
Dual Sim
Try another "dual sim " model or edit sim1&sim2 no.!

Thanks for the answer, but I do not use sim adapter. I have both numbers on the same sim, and I have updated the numbers in home and business menu but it's still show up the operator name.
In the operator menu I have option "display current number". This will show me the number but only for 3 sec.
I wonder if I can find that regisrty from "dual number menu" and place them in RIL or something...

Hi. I am not sure how exactly this is achieved, but it is available in Vic's ROMs. So, you could install one of those (which are actually quite good in my opinion). You could also take a backup of your device with this ROM (e.g. with SPB backup) and then, after flashing the ROM of your choice, you could make a restore using ROM upgrade mode. This will keep the functionality of displaying the active line name from your 2in1 SIM.

You've discovered some hidden menus recently by typing codes in the dialer and find out this one: *#*#4636#*#* that open a "Testing" screen showing options like this:
Phone Information
Battery Information
Usage Statistics
Wi-Fi Information
Then you went to Phone Information
Tried some options (maybe played with SMSC:_________Update / Refresh ) but that was not doing anything so you exited the menu.....
after a while you wanted to send a text or someone was asking you "Did you got my text?" and you didn't....
Here's what hapened: Accidentaly you erased from your phone the "Messaging Center Number" wich is responsible for giving your phone the access to the SMS/MMS central of your provider.....resulting in loosing the ability to send/receive messages.
Don't worry, after having navigated XDA Forums I finally found my way to make it work again (yes that's because I did it that I now now it).
By the way, even if you Factory reset, flash a new rom/radio/kernel that mistake is gonna stay. You need to enter the number again.
in the *#*#4636#*#* hidden menu,
scroll down to "SMSC:"
in the box type: 0791715097960300
press the "Update" / "Mettre à Jour" (first button)
Now exit and Reboot the phone.
To test it, don't try to resend an old test message as it contain old message center number. I even suggest to delete previous text messages from your inbox if possible.
If it worked, everything should be fine by now. (you can even kudo me for this loll)
NOTE:
The real Roger Center number is +17057969300
the thing is that it need to be Encrypted in Hexadecimal PDU format.
(user MarcusVanSciver on XDA shown that link in thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412261)
That was for Orange Network (european have 8 number to phone number instead of 7 so I had to add a 0 at the end to make it work for Rogers)
after Encryption the number was now: 0791715097960300
This worked for ROGERS, the trick could maybe work for other networks but I can not validate the info. (but for sure this will not be the same number)
This had been tested with stock rom and Custom Rom With Custom Radio and Custom Kernel.
If this helped you, please give credit to this post ;-)

Hey man, this might be a bit old for you but i just got a galaxy nexus. I am having the outgoing text issue. I've tried that number and everytime i hit update it just says update error. Think you mightbe able to help me?
Damn this doesn't work for me
To program the SMSC (Text Messaging) number on Android devices, please follow these steps:
Go to the phone application.
From the phone application, press *#*#4636#*#*. (You will have to press the Call or Send button after entering this code in for some Android devices).
Tap on Phone Information
Scroll to the bottom to where it says SMSC and enter this number exactly as you see on this page (including all symbols): +17057969300
Press Update.
Earlier today I had a successful attempt at installing FXP's CM9 126 build. As a requirement I had to flash the R800x_4.0.2.E.57_Verizon.ftf via Flashtool to my phone before I could flash the Rom. My phone's provider is Cspire(formally Cellular South), and after the ftf my phone is trying to make contact with Verizon for activation, leaving my unable to call or text on my own provider. I've tried flashing a nand backup I had of one of Codename Andriod that I created when everything was working perfectly, but it didn't fix the problem.
Thank you for your time and please let me know what I can to fix this.
Sincerely,

You'll need to change the build.prop and apn settings. Found this from a quick search with someone that has a working verizon build.prop that is said to work on cspire
https://www.dropbox.com/s/dgteu3ziweifix8/build.prop
and his working apn settings:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6cs5tqwdlcstt3s/apns-conf.xml
Also found this:
You could push the apn with ADB but i just edited mine with root explorer in /System/etc and restarted the phone.
As for CDMA Workshop is a service software for CDMA phones it is used for flashing phones to different carriers to put it plain as possible in my mind but it can be used for countless useful tasks, just Google it to read more. But the below method was much easier.
Dialing ##7764726(##program) is used to manually program your phone.
After dialing ##7764726 press call it will prompt for a SPC password it should be 000000
Then click User Activation
MIN1 I put the last 7 digits of my phone number.
MIN2 put the first three of phone number(area code).
MDN is your 10 digit phone number.
CDMA Sys ID put 1996
IMSI_11_12 put 12
Then hit back and click on SID/NID Pairs:
SID_1: put 1996
NID_1: put 65535
After this hit back till you exit all the way back out of the menu the phone will reboot after it reboots i dialed *22801 it didn't say anything just sat at the activation screen for about 30sec. Then it said reprogramming the phone then rebooted agin after that i was back on C spire.
Links are a little old but this is all I could find:

Mobile data would be in the build.prop and the apn settings, You should be able to use pieces from the build.prop I posted to work whatever rom you're on. I got to assume verizon and cspire are close to identical since they're both cdma. Half way there right?

Yes and I still have the same problem. Now it asks me to type a new password but I´am not able to type a password or any number.
gives
I have the same problem and would be really grateful for a solution.
I solved the psw writing elsewhere, such as a text message, then copy the text and then hit it when you're asked to enter the key. At least so it works to fix it.

open a text editor app, write your password there, block and copy it,
then open the private box, paste your password there (tap hold on password field, and paste),
the password will appear dotted **** like usual,
then click confirm,
you'll enter the private box,
I don't know if you forgot your password,
our problem we can't enter number on password field,
so it solved this way,
(and I cleared the private contact,
this bug is very annoying I won't use it anymore until it fixed next updates)

They have updated the app since and I still have the same issue with the Go SMS Pro
I'm using roboto mod and my device can't send text messages. then i changed ROM to modpunks CM9 but it still fails . how did you think its my phone or ics mistake?
Try stock rom. If the problem persists it will be phone's problem .
Can you see incoming messages?

yes
Check SMS settings. maybe SMS carrier number is required!
If yes then check your operator SMSC number. I have this problem too. Go to your dialer and type *#*#4636#*#* don't call to this number. It open debug menu. Go to the first (Information about phone) and find "SMSC:" (It is somewhere down.) Then type in your operator SMSC number and press Update. I found my operator SMSC on google. Try this. Hope this help.
