You guys know more about android than me, that's why I came here
When I would be using my phone, it automatically, fast reboots.
Does it have to do with charging the phone at night? It charges fully in like 1 hour or less. I sleep for 8 hours. I keep it going for the next 7 hours, even if it is full. Am doing something wrong? Is this the problem? What is it's fix?
I am using GT-I9195. Rooted ROM, Everything on stock.
Regards.
Hello. I have a similar problem. It reboots every night when its connected to WiFi and charging. If I set it to flight-mode it doesn't occur. But since it is a phone I want to have connected
I hope someone knows more about this problem.

I am not having the problem when I turned off NFC...
Are you using the original charger?
It should take more than an hour to charge from 0 percent. You may have a faulty battery as well
Yep I am using the original charger.. That is what Im thinking. I am afraid to buy one from eBay cause it maybe wont have NFC. Can you help me find one with NFC? Please ^. ^
Edit: I use ebay.co.uk

Buy from Samsung with the battery kit if you want a guaranteed compatible one the local Samsung service centre usually also sells the battery by itself as well

hi,
i bought a micro usb charger for my sister's galaxy s from ebay. my sister said that it doesnt work.
i tried it on my t989 and it worked, my battery was 30% full.
i came back after an hour and the phone is off and wont respond. i tried connecting it to computer and it's not recognized, also i tried jig and using the original charger to charge the phone and it wont turn on or respond.
*the ebay charger went dead completely and wont produce any voltage.
i sent it to a lab but the problem is that i live in israel and they are familiar only with the international version of the phone- the 9100.
the tech guy said that he thinks the phone is bricked. is that possible from using a faulty charger? i thought it can only happen when flashing a wrong rom.
thanks for your help,
omri

Sadly my friend you may be out of luck. I had a bad EU adapter that shorted two of my previous devices. My only advice is perhaps to contact Samsung and plead your case. with any luck it may still be under warranty and they may be able to repair/replace it. Good luck man.
i actually have the phone for only 8 months, but i bought it from amazon (new)
is that going to be a problem?

All you can do is try. Worst that will happen is they say no. They also light offer a reasonable price for them to fix it. Only guess I have is that it fried the mobo. Or maybe only shorted the battery. Do you have another battery to test

Sorry I let the thread die. Im on the road so I can't offer as much help as you may want but honestly Google "Samsung warranty repair or return". I'm sure you will find your answer

I had the problem of ghost charging, it started with phone not charging when connected to charger and then randomly showing charging(even when not plugged in i.e. ghost charging) .
After seeing other thread, i cleaned the port with paper and tooth pick and also pushed the inner tongue slightly upwards and now it doesn't show charging icon, but it says not charging in settings>battery, instead of discharging
It causes vbus_tuna_otg wake lock in Bette battery stats and high system usage in setting> battery, basically not letting the phone go to deep sleep, causing battery drain.
Have tried multiple roms and stock, etc all give same behaviour so definately h/w problem and also have two batteries and both do the same thing.
Any way to fix this. ?
Any help appreciated.

Hey,
i actually live in India, and had purchased this from US from Google directly, so i dont think samsung will be providing replacement, they give only limited warranty after 14 days..
Any idea on how to solve problem or atleast let device go to sleep..

Did you ever get it fixed, I also have the same problem I have been searching and searching and I can't find a solution. I have tried a new battery, resetting the phone to stock, cleaning the usb port, replacing the usb port, taking the phone apart and cleaning it, greenified a lot of apps and the phone still does it. I just ordered another usb port in case the first one I bought was defective. I have bbs and vbus-tuna_otg is the main kernel wakelock killing my battery. Hopefully someone can help us seeing as this is a Google flagship phone.
My phone is a Verizon 32GB Galaxy Nexus running CM 10.1.3
Have tried the same as you. Changed port and battery and problem still persists. It's probably a board thing and needs a board replacement. I ll just have to live with it. I have the GSM version. I wonder if there is any way of disabling the service /process that creates the wakelock...

Hi,
I have developed an open-souce (GPLv3) app that helps save battery when this happens.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484871
SnooZy Charger turns off the screen on these ghost connections, saving battery consumption by the display. It does not fix the charging issues, but it reduces the battery drain when this happens.
mudar
ps: sorry if this is considered as self promotion or xposting but this issue has been reported on multiple threads..

Hey thanks I'm going tobgive it a try. I'll leave feedback to see if I have any ideas for you. Thanks again.
Thanks for taking the time...
My Note 8 3g is showing a strange behaviour as of late.
I leave it plugged in the original wallcharger from Samsung, switched on/ 3G active.
Plugging in at roughly 10% that would give me 50-60% in the morning after 7-8 hours.
Battery & Task manager don't show any permanent CPU hogs or wake locks.
Device is loaded with a couple of generic apps but not rooted...
With a 4600mAh battery and a the 2000mAh Samsung charger charging at 0.5C the tablet should be finished after roughly 3 hours.
My Note 8 is taking twice the time for half the charge?!
Before giving it a hard reset I would like to know, if someone has an idea / solution.
Thanks again for Your time,
Yoko
That is a worry. I get full charge after about 3 hours on my samsung charger, and about 10% charge per hour on my blackberry charger at work. Mine is the wifi only model though, i dont know how much juice the 3g and what ever other connections you have running will use and if that would make up much difference. Sounds like a significant amount slower though. Do you have access to another 2A charger to see if its a problem with the samsung charger rather than the tablet?
In my case was the faulty charger cable, I was getting nuts searching for help when someone (don't remember which tread was) said about that. There's a free app on playstore that shows you how much current are receiving your device. With that app I realized that it was the cable, not the charger or software related.
Hope that helps.

I would try, in order:
1. Check your battery stats to make sure nothing weird is chewing up the battery (should be screen, Android OS and possibly Google Services as the top culprits...if there is any *app* above those and you're not really using the app, uninstall it)
2. Bypass a surge protector (if there is one) and plug directly into the wall.
3. Try a different cable
4. Try a different charger
5. Try the charger and cable on a different device that uses 2.1a if possible
If there are no rogue apps, nothing changes and the charger seems to function properly, then you are probably looking at a hardware problem with the device. I would guess a factory reset wouldn't accomplish anything.
also if you are looking for a diff charger make sure the amps are the same. i believe its a 2a charge on this tab. if not then charging will take longer.
Thanks to all Your kind replies!
Sorry for staying quiet for a couple of days, it's been a very busy week for me.
My problem appears to be solved - it has indeed been the USB cord!
Seriously....who would have thought.
I use the exact same cable to charge my HTC One S without an issue.
Thanks again to all of You! :good:

Yoko
I faced the same Issue. Just let the battery Drop to %0 and Turned off then let the device pwged in overnight. For me that fix it without using any apps
NB. I know letting Li-ion battery drop to %0 is bad!

Hello Everyone,
I am a noob on XDA, Please correct me if i have posted in the wrong forum. I bought a new nexus 7 16gb, for some reason when the battery is around 25-30% the tablet turns off itself. Its not shutdown its like pulling the battery of a phone thats on. The only way to start it is by connecting the charger.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I am on the stock rom NOT rooted
Thanks

Have you charged the device to 100% yet? I would do that, leave it charging for an hour after it shows 100% then use it till it dies. Rinse and repeat.

Yes I have charged it 100% multiple times, The only difference is i use a sammy charger that outputs 0.7 amps once in a while. I dont suspect the charging thing to do this.
Are you getting normal use out of a charge? How much screen time in one charge?

Like Highfigh suggested check how long you can run on a full charge. If you get some good hours in then maybe the battery % is not reporting back properly. A reset/restore could possible resolve that issue.
I believe I am getting pretty good charge. I will try once again, I was thinking this might be something with stock rom and hence I posted it online. Thanks every one for the help

exactly the same story here. in my case it's not so easy to turn it on. it would seem like the device is completely discharged, even if it just showed some 40 % battery left. i have to wait several hours to even try to bring it back to recovery mode. very long press does nothing. it happened couple of times already. very annoying with such seemingly superb tablet. i'm not living in the us of a, so no quick replacement for me
That's bad I can turn on mine in a few minutes. Again mine happens very rarely. I also get an excellent battery life. How long does yours go on a charge.
I would also like to know if there is any kind of Logs that we can look at. It's getting irritating, did you try rooting your device to see if that might fix the problem.

I got the same problem recently, I think it was after the last update on the firmware. Everytime the battery reach around 35% it just went off.

Are you using stock charger to charge online? there might be one more possibility that battery might not be pinned properly to the phone.

yes i am using stock charger , and i tried several times battery is pinned properly .. it all started because the computer guy made wrong usb connections on my computers motherboard .. i connected to transfer my photos and it suddenly died. on connecting to computer via usb it charges sometimes ..but then restarting it results in mega drop in battery level and then it wont charge.
Just wanted to know that if this is a hardware issue or a software issue. would flashing a ftf solve the issue ?

K i personally think that there is a problem with the battery. once the battery is connected to wrong polarity it generally get ****ed up but i see that it charges properly with the battery charger. if the charge is retained normally there is definitely no problem in battery. It will be the PIN . But not harm in trying to reset through PCC or flashing FTF.
