I did a google search and found no good simple explanation of the Lionheart governor. What exactly does it do in more simpler terms.
Is the battery life better than stock but with better performance?
Lionheart is a conservative-based governor which is based on samsung's update3 source. Tweaks comes from 1) Knzo 2) Morfic. The tunables (such as the thresholds and sampling rate) were changed so the governor behaves more like the performance one, at the cost of battery as the scaling is very aggressive. To 'experience' Lionheart goes well with deadline i/o scheduler. When it comes to smoothness (not considering battery drain), a tuned conservative delivers more as compared to a tuned ondemand.
Hope that helps

Thanks but that is what I was talking about. I saw this definition on google but I can't understand that definition.
I just want to know where does Lionheart rank among the others in terms of performance and in terms of battery life (especially stock).
Right now I'm using Eugene's kernel with lionheart battery is great for me I get 13 to 15hours with good performance the other governor that would be good on batter is Brazilian wax and savages Zen those two are good to but I prefer lionheart ccause there's performance with good battery life better than stock in my opinion.

Brazilianwax and savagedzen are both derivatives of smartass, which doesn't work with our chipset. If you use any of those 3 your CPU frequencies will tend to stick at max value and not go down

no they work fine...
Smartass & the other 2 have no issue with it sticking... however SmartassV2 does stick at Max speed.

I stand corrected then
Lionheart vs. Interactive, Smartass, Brazillen Wax, Savage Zen?
Can anyone answer this?
How does its battery life and performance of Lionheart under typical usage compares to interactive's, smartass', brazillian wax's, and savage zen's?
You can just say something like, "Under normal and average use, Lionheart generally has a better battery life than abc and better performance than xyz."

bump
Am using AndroidRevolution HD and PopcornKernel for the maximum battery life.
I am using agressiveX governor.. its basically conservative with tweaks and hotplugging
At first I used franco's updater app to change my cpu min and max.. this app did not have a scheduler option but when i used SetCPU i chose deadline.. my batt life became a bit shorter.
I had 300+ min and 700+max. Was running smoothly and got about 6h on screen time thanks to both the rom and kernel being built for batt life and the conservative-like governer.
So basically i have 2 questions:
Which scheduler do I use to maximize battery life and Why is it when my device is off screen it runs out of batt so fast.. could it be due to hotplugging or the low cpu speed i have?

What are your battery stats like while the screen is off? If the phone is being held awake, you have an app that is constantly waking the phone up. Next charge cycle, provide a screenshot. I don't know just how much different schedulers help in terms of battery. I've hopped between noop and deadline and never really noticed a difference. Best bet would be to try each one. YMMV because my usage pattern may not match yours.
I have checked with CPUSpy and yes my device is entering deep sleep.. i wanna know if such a low voltage affects my phone sleep since i have hotplugging enabled

hello folks ,
plz.z.z specify which governor is best for cm9 for both battery & performance..?
Smartass v2 will give you best battery + performance. You may use ondemand too but it uses a little more battery.

In my opinion,smartass V2.
Press Thank's if i helped you.
Smartass V2 without a doubt. Best perfomance with a decent battery life.
what's the best combo for pure battery life? everyone's been saying smartassv2 with sio but its not really giving me great battery life. what do you guys use?
oh and can you guys please state the amount of battery life you get with the combo you're using. thanks
I've been using smartassV2 in combination with SIO scheduler for general use on my T989 and my old Captivate, it has helped my phone last a day or usually longer.
I don't really look at my 'battery usage' as it varies with what I'm doing in the day, for the most part it did make a big difference compared to the defaults.
Also, if you're looking for better battery results underclocking/undervolting and have certain governors turn on during different phone usage will definitely make a huge impact with your battery results.
You can do this with many apps, but the one that has been working for me is usually between Pimp My CPU and SetCPU. Cheers!
Wich is better for battery saving ?
Powersave should be better in terms of battery usage, but worse in terms of lags.
IMHO the default governor does a very good work. In my eyes, half an hour more screen time isn't worth the effort at all.
I use conservative, haven't lag, I like this. Default setting is interactive mode.
Thanks ?
