Hi guys, 2 Months ago, I upgraded my phone to 4.1.2 Jelly Bean but it has a lot of lagg and it stucks always, so please help me to come back to my old Android version which was 2.3.6 Gingerbread, which was better and smooth. I tried to downgrade it many times, I made the same as I upgrade to 4.1.2 and my phone stucks on a Bootloop, I followed this steps;

And Odín gives me FAIL!, I suppose it is about my "L" Latin version?
Help me please!
Regards
It should be because of the L. Look around in forums i remember theres a guide to downgrade for L-varients. And why don't you flash cm10 instead?

Yes, I am using Slim Bean ROM 4.2.2, but I prefer 2.3.6.

Easiest way is to follow a guide to get you nexus back to stock via fastboot won't take more than 15 minutes get the 4.1.2 images here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images There are instruction all over xda to achieve this only thing you might have to do is change file names if the guide isn't up to date other than that the commands are the same.

no, the update is failing because you are on a custom rom.
if you want the update, you need to go back to stock and then re-root.
there's a sticky at the top of this forum.

You should not really care much about OTA updates once you have a custom ROM on your device. I can see maybe flashing back to stock if you wanted to sell the device, but for any other updates you should check the ROM you like and just see when it is updated.

Hello everyone! I am on sprint and having a problem. I want to update to jelly bean from rooted ics. The only problem is I tried using qbking77's video and got stuck after the first minute or so because my device has a build number of LG8. So I couldn't continue on. Can I unroot and upgrade to jelly bean and then root using the same method as ics? Thanks so much.

Simplest rooting method in the whole wide world, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011491 .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963812 is what I used. I don't see how it could get any easier.
I recently installed CM 9.1 on my arc s from stock ICS 4.0.4.
Ever since i have installed it i get a pop asking for Sim network unlock pin which doesnt allow me to use the phone. My question is why is the need for this in CM 9.1 ?
Does flashing the baseband from the official firmaware fix the issue ?

There is no unofficial baseband, all basebands you use are from official firmware.
It is just an issue in CM ROMs (occurs on some phones/regions). Just press Ignore button (or whatever it is called), it will still allow you to use your phone.
Thank you.
But i cant use the phone with that popping up every time i click ignore. Its very annoying and i guess the development on ICS is stopped so i guess i have to wait for jelly bean.

Why waiting? There are over 15 Jelly Bean roms at the Android Development forums.
Im waiting for the CyanogenMod 10, as i find those roms to be stable and all features working.

Hi!
I was running stock 4.1.2 and was rushing to upgrade the 4.3 (I'm on N7105). Knowing what I know now, I should have read more about Samsung KNOX. I strongly advise you to read more about it especially if your phone is still under waranty.
Keep in mind that for now, it's NOT POSSIBLE to downgrade from 4.3 down to 4.1.2 or other versions. Tried it myself- doesn't work.
However, what just might save you is if you have a nandroid backup of your last system (like 4.1.2).
Hope this helps...
Cheers
first of all hello to the best Team in the world and happy new year
i am new to andriod and i have a galaxy note 2 N7100 and i heard that rooting the phone gives more advanced options i got the toolkit from your adorable web site and rooted my phone but because am beginner i want to upgrade my phone to 4.3 or 4.4 but i don't know know to do it . i only can deal with videos and pics guides that's why i liked the tool kit and rooted my phone so please can any one help me with details ( pic's or videos ) how can i upgrade my jelly bean to 4.3 or 4.4 ? or even is it better to stay on 4.1.2 or to upgrade ?
Thanks alot guys and waiting for reply
Whatever u do, don't upgrade to 4.3 by official updates because you will lose warranty. If you want to keep it clean then this is what u need to do:
1. Install custom recovery ( I recommend. Philz's)
2. Flash Mj5 bootloader ( very important so you can keep your warranty)
3. Now you can do whatever u like. Flash custom roms etc.
I know it's not much explained but I'm sure someone who's got more time will explain better. This is just quick guide so you can stay safe.

i already lost the warranty after makeing a custom rom for the 1st time
i already lost the warranty after makeing a custom rom for the 1st time now after losing the warranty i cant upgrade the official update it says that your phone is modified and software updates are not available so i want to update manually by a custom rom
You only lose warranty if they can proof that you modified your mobile. If you have not used official 4.3 update then it's easy to restore your phone to stock with out any trace of previous modifications. Install custom recovery which is designed for installation of custom roms. Read this forum and you will find all the answers. Remember don't use official 4.3 updates for now until your knowledge is a little bigger. Regards

I would go for 4.3. 4.4 is not stable enough for everyday use, and 4.1.2 is slower than 4.3. Find some ROM with Note 3 pack, you will have more options and features and they're pretty bug free.
If your new to android have a read of some of Dr ketan's guides. They are very helpful and noob friendly. You won't go far wrong if you follow his advice
