Imagine my surprise when I saw the newest version of Google wallet appearing in the play store for me today. So has Google now stopped blocking its wallet app for Verizon devices?

You can't use that in the Google play store, you can only use it with your NFC, that's the reason Google is giving them out.

The only real difference I have noticed so far is the Yankees score shows up in Google Now. That was the one thing I was missing.

Local search is still there. It also has the option to show movie times and local alerts(Amber alerts, weather etc).

You can also now manually add sports teams, which is a nice feature. No college football, though, so that's a bummer.
what is the latest version you guys see in the play store? I think this is a country specific update... :| Could anyone share the apk if possible?
I can't seem to find Google Wallet on the play store. I tried installing the apk manually but the installed failed.

As of now Google wallet is on play store, but it says incompatible, Along with other apps i enjoy like Gameloft games. Is there a way to fool the market if you have root so that you could use these things?
Any word/rumour on when Google Wallet will be available in Canada?

In order to get updates for samsung apps not found in google play store, you have to have a free samsung account.
