Opera Mobile - Verizon HTC One (M7)

I have used opera mini or opera mobile web browser on my last 2 phones and like it very much. Now with the one I am having issues with the start page icons being very small. It is hard to see and annoying. Just wanted to know if anyone else uses opera and if you are having the same issues?

It hasn't been updated to support xxhdpi sounds like. More than likely your previous phones weren't full 1080p screens.

This work great, adding one more layer to quick manual and using stock tab switch layout. But the problem is running very hot....
Does pinch-to-zoom woek for you? Whenever I try it just bounces back out to overview if the page.

Never mind... I must have done something in the settings. I reset the settings and now it works. Thanks for the tip about this browser.
Not only it's a good browser but i don't know how it improved the touch selection problem in texts which the Stock ICS browser is having.
Really a great browser. Just customs fonts are waiting then it's almost perfect.
The ring shape menu looks nice.
Just perfect.

Love this app. But, sometimes facing issues where I am not able to long click on a link ONLY after clicking a link and then going back fixes three issue. Anyone else has this problem?

Is there a way to wrap text during Web browsing?

Whenever I'm reading a long text in paragraph format or something on the Web, if I double tap the text it just zooms in, I remember on my old phones the text would automatically adjust in size and wrap so I wouldn't have to keep side scrolling. Any way to enable this on the note 2? Thanks

I wondered the same thing very annoying when browsing. I thought all android phones did it however ive only owned HTC phones for the past 7 years so guess its an HTC thing. Is there an app or something that will enable this feature? Sure is nice when you double tap and the web page resizes so you can read it all and dont have to squint to see the text..
Pretty sure just normal double taps and pinch to zoom are all you got on non htc phones

I'm 100% sure this isn't what the OP is wanting. HTC had text reflow no matter what level of zoom you did on a webpage. Non-HTC phones don't. This setting you are referring to in browser options has never made any difference on my Nexus or my Note 2. All the sites I use already display to fit the screen. I've tested it and I can't see a site where it actually shows the intended effect. Do you have a website example?

I never found a solution to this problem months ago. When I got my Galaxy Nexus after owning a hero, evo, and Evo 3D... I thought this was a huge problem but I learned to live with it and now I don't think about it

Thanks for this. This helps but as others have said with HTC devices you can zoom in at any distance and it will automatically adjust and wrap the text for you, not just one size in the auto fit.

Dolphin Browser does do what the OP asked for. That's why I replied to his post.
Respectfully disagree since I tried Dolphin mini and the regular Dolphin and neither did what he asked. Maybe I'm wrong. The op isn't looking for Auto fitting of text to the initial page. While that may be a good alternative, he wants text reflow no matter what level of zoom, continuously. That is an htc thing

That's what I thought he was asking and that's how Dolphin is working for me. Under 'settings' / 'Web Content', I have 'Auto-fit Pages' turned on and it reflows the text as I zoom in and out. I also have my 'User Agent' set to desktop but I'm not sure that matters. It works for me.
(I just tried it to make sure I'm not crazy and it works perfectly. It will reflow the text to fit my screen regardless of zoom level.)

that definitely looks right. Does that work on the normal xda site? That's what I tried and didn't work for me. That's the site I always use to test..Regular dolphin or mini?
Update: Dude I want that feature back.. I've tried your setting and every setting imaginable on all 3 Dolphin browsers.. I've tried Google...xda...mlbtraderumors.com.. nothing works for me...pm me so we don't bore everyone to death.. am I the only one that can't get this working on Dolphin?

Curious

What do you think will be the next update for the GNII to improve it to be more like a tablet? Any ideas?
Swyped by Me & My GNII
I was wondering the same thing, but to be totally honest with you, it's already like too perfect. I really don't know anything else that can be done to it to make it any better except maybe, being able to use the voice feature on it without being connected to the Internet? Just my 2 cents.

I really doubt they will enable tablet mode, they have tablets for that. That and for most people the screen is still to small from the tablet UI. heck even the Nexus 7 runs the same UI as the Note 2 does

I don't know, I think the whole phablet thing had many hesitant about this phone. I sincerely hope you're right though. I love CM10, PA, and other similar ROMS but they take so much time to get fully functional. I just hope there is Dev out there who will jump in and take it on for our Sprint variant.
the note II is anything but perfect. I have a lot of "gripes" with it.
first 320dpi. seriously? is that a joke I could not root it fast enough to get it going at 240dpi. Ahhh so much better
burst mode is borked. the huge delay built into the implimentation on the Note II renders is useless. as a temp fix use best shot its instant but only 8 shots.
on my S3 I can assign my favorite upload method (imgur for pictures youtube for video) as defaults. just tap the imgur or youtube icon and its going
this is GONE in the NOTE II I have to tap share and scroll to my selections EVERY TIME. very annoying once you got used to the S3 way.
toggles are gone. so I can't turn off mobile data etc.. on the Note II easily from the pull down like I can on the S3.

[Q] Is there a way to disable the zoom effect whle slding up and dn the screen edges?

Any help with the above question would be appreciated.
I also have this issue a lot when browsing. Maybe it's just a sick browser issue?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
Same here. I hate that slide zoom feature in the web browser but im sure its intended to work that way. I bet a dev could modify the browser apk to get rid of that.
I know if you stay away from the edges it won't do it. But it does get kinda annoying. I've read this was a change in JB due to the whole Apple lawsuit crap.

Use Chrome. ..IMO far superior browsing experience. Side zoom isn't an issue
Sent from my SPH-L900
My S3 does the same thing and its really annoying. I would use Chrome but that permanent address bar is really annoying especially in landscape. Plus the stock browser is faster.
I always tended to scroll the page at the very edge of the phone so that finger oil doesn't gloss over the text I'm trying to read...lol
Cool feature. I didn't know you could do that as I've been using Chrome which is awesome IMO, but this feature alone may make me use the stock browser from time to time. I do wish that when companies added features like this they would provide an option for users to be able to enable/disable as not everyone is going to like it.
I'm on LK8 and it doesn't have the scroll edges in the stock browser.

New swift key beta

One of the things that I really liked about the note 3 coming from the s2 that the Samsung keyboard had a dedicated number row. I looked on the play store for an alternative to no avail. Today I found the new SwiftKey beta which has the option.

Changing that would require another 52 png files in the apk plus added code to eliminate the long press option.

Hate to see wasted space. Keep long press and replace numbers (in either first or second row) with Ctrl, tab, esc, [, ], % ^, ~, <, >
Would look ugly but be useful (for me)!
It's damn ugly now with the two rows of numbers... But I am so much happier with this keyboard.

Was looking into modifying this keyboard. For some reason I can't recompile it, but I think I can modify that original row, removing the numbers for the long press of "QWERTY..." I've had some issues with newer apk's. I'm having an issue setting up the right environment using apktool 4.3.
That being said, I'm going to work on this tonight to see if I can at least get it to recompile.
For anyone interested, the files I think that need to be modified are res>xml>keyboard_layout_standard_qwerty.

definitely a step in the right direction (e.g., numeric keys) and i also like the option to reduce the footprint of the keyboard so it takes up less real estate (e.g., screen).

That was the first reason why I stopped using it back in the day. I will give it a try
NOTE 3
The emoji support on it is amazing, you can long press enter for the entire list, which is huge, and emojis will also pop up in the predictive text guesses at the top. The keyboard can also be detached from the bottom of the screen, resized, and it has full, thumbs only, and a compact layouts. This is the best keyboard out there imo.

Have u guys noticed lately that it makes ridiculous suggestions for words you have/would never use(d)? I have trending phrases turned off, and scan all accounts. Spend lots of time removing words. I hope they include an editable dictionary at some point.
