I have a sprint samsung galaxy s3 and I want the HTC One and can Isswitch my sim card to it if I buy it on eBay or something?
I have a year left on my contract if it's possible, if it's not possible with one, can I do it with the s4?

If you buy any SPRINT phone from eBay with a clean ESN, all you have to do is call or take it to a sprint store and they can switch your number onto your phone from eBay for free. Even with a year left.

Sprint has simcards. Its just that you can't really replace it. They're chips actually attached to the motherboard

I will be purchasing a galaxy nexus from a friend in a few days.He told me that he has not paid the etf fee for the phone, I was curious if the phone would work if I had a lte sim card or if I signed up for new service. Thanks for the help in advance.
You'll have to call Verizon and see what they can do if anything, they might not let you activate it.

The phone will be blacklisted from ever connecting to Verizon's network until your friend pays the money he owes to Verizon. Tell him to stop being a cheap ass and pay his bill.

I would suggest that you pass on this "gift".
Verizon usually doesn't usually budge on unblacklisting phones so you might be screwed.

Just buy the nexus from Verizon for the 150 it's running at right now. And tell your friend to stop being retarded and pay his bill.

Even better, buy it from Amazon for something like $0.01. Or if he's off contract there are plenty of non-blacklisted phones for sale on Craigslist, eBay, XDA marketplace, etc..

If you buy a GN (galaxy nexus) from ebay and the carrier is vzw and doesn't come with a sim will it still work or do you have to root it?
Go to Verizon and they will give you a new sim for free . No sim=no work..I buy used phones a lot and do this every time with Verizon now the sim stays with the phone number

if you already have an active verizon account they shouldnt charge for a new sim, just go to a verizon store and request a replacement SIM
yeah i have never been charged for a sim card they are free, if you call 611 the say to go to the nearest vz store or they can send you one.. just tell them that you bought the phone from a private sale and you need a sim. they will do the rest
Every bestbuy and att store in my area is sold out, and i'm looking to buy one off contract. Any smaller kiosks or other places like walmart that might have them?
also would i be able to just buy a tmobile one off contract and pop my att sim in it?

You would need to sim unlock the Tmobile phone first.

Sim card holder. I found an ad on eBay which a seller has put in a new Sim card holder for a Sprint Note2. I ask if he test the phone if it can made call using ATT or T Mobile; he said he does not know
Boy o boy sounds like a pretty good gimmick selling something that he doesn't know that works and somebody willing to buy it even better... if you do some reading and some googling you can find info about this....
Rockin it from my macknote2
The hardware IS in our phones. You do have to buy that adapter and replace some of the innards of the device but from what I've seen once you do it the phone is ready to accept the sim. You just have to replace certain hardware. Sprint decided to go with an integrated sim.
Edit: Maybe not so easy? See this thread

I am currently on Verizon, with a Galaxy Nexus. I bought a Droid DNA off of eBay (really good deal), and want to know if I can just pop in my sim card, and go. I know the sizes are different, so I can use a sim cutter, and go to town on it. When I was checking the ESN with the Verizon rep, they said I would need to call to activate the phone. I've read on the interweb you can swap sims on 4G phones with no issue. So, much like everything on the interweb, there is conflicting information. What's the good word?
Actually both the DNA and gnex require micro sims, so it should fit right away. and yes, you can just pop in the sim and wait for it to recognize, but do it on the sense ROM before gaining s-off and flashing roms because I remember reading that cm doesn't have a certain file or something that prevents you from activating it when you run a custom ROM. Anyways, to answer your question yes
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Verizon would need to activate because they use cdma and only use approved devices on their network.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Well Verizon exclusive devices like the droid DNA are pre-approved, and as long as it was sold by Verizon period, and is a 4g device, then you can swap sims all you want.

But this seems to contradict what is on Verizon's own website:
http://support.verizonwireless.com/faqs/VZAccess/4g_sim_card.html
Can I use my Verizon Wireless 4G SIM in more than one device?
Yes; the Verizon Wireless 4G SIM card contains all of your subscriber information, so the SIM card is portable and can be used in any Verizon Wireless-certified 4G device. All usage will be billed to the account associated with the 4G SIM card.

I'll find out for sure when my phone arrives in the mail, and I'll update this thread.
I took the Sim card from my wife's stratosphere and put it into my old droid charge and it worked just fine. All I had to do was wait for it to recognize the Sim.

I left sprint for verizon a little over a year ago. I have had no remorse leaving. Not to get too far off topic, but the only real benefit to sprint is their unlimited data. But since you can't connect to their network, or it's slow as hell, what's the point?

Got my phone today. Popped in the Verizon 4G sim from my Nexus, and my DNA read the service with no issues. I did not have to call Verizon to swap the phone.
