I'm considering getting the Note 2 but unsure if I need the N7100 N7105, or does it matter? I'm in a 4G LTE area in Houston..

You can only get n7100 with hspa+ data speed. N7105 is LTE version that does not support US LTE band. If you want the LTE speed, your only option is to wait for at&t brand note 2.
I'm facing a dilemma... n7100 or at&t brand note 2?... LTE or hspa+... battery life differences.... ugh! So confused!

Can you explain why the N7105 won't work on AT&T's network despite it working in the 1900mhz baseband? I thought theoretically AT&T would be the only network compatible with the N7105 radios.
Almost all the other LTE networks in the US run on other frequencies which are explicitly not compatible, but not AT&T.

EDIT: N7105 LTE operates on 800, 900, 1800, and 2600mhz. That's why. As far as I know only Sprint's LTE network is theoretically compatible on the 800mhz baseband, and they don't offer SIM cards. :-/
I'm super concerned about the Data speed, wondering if the N7100 is compatible to US T-mobile 4G network.
Most if not ANY unlocked GSM phone will Work on T-Mobile on EDGE.
T-Mobile does not have 4G they have 3G/HSPA+
But with the N7100 you will only get EDGE unless your in a refarmed 1900 area.
You're better off buying the Tmobile version.

Hi All,
I am using a N7105 on Bell Canada network. Seem my phone only max. on HSPA+ not LTE. Base on I am reading some information from internet. Bell is using 1700/2100/2600 Mhz for LTE. My phone only able pick up LTE 800/1800/2600 Mhz. My question is shouldn't my phone work on Bell LTE network on 2600 Mhz?? Also does anyone out there use N7105 and able to use LTE on Rogers/Bell/Telus???
Thanks
PC
wow really no one use N7105 in Canada???
It will work but generally performance would be poor inside buildings or in areas of interference, due to having only one compatible band instead of two.

I have tried even outside on the street still not getting LTE:crying:
7105 is international, international usually mean European, Australia etc, ie NOT north American region. They will have carrier specific versions for bell, telus, robbers, wind etc

This is stupid they don't follow the other country
So which model name/number is the Canadian Bell one? I'm thinking of buying one in Calgary, but I wanted to monitor ROM development before I got one, so which forum should I follow for the Canadian one? I just guessed it was an N7105, but apparently it's not!
Edit: Nevermind, found it on Wikipedia. It's SGH-i317M and seems roughly same as AT&T, I guess I'll go to that forum!
Although I don't know anyone that has a N7105 on LTE in Canada, I've seen people use LTE with a I9305 (with the same LTE bands as the N7105) in Vancouver at least, so technically your phone should work. It may be that your area doesn't have the 2600Mhz spectrum.

Ah so i called Bell they told me they have 2600 Mhz but you never know. Cause Bell tech. support sucks
N7105 supports 2600 mhz radio frequency, but a respective modem file need to be flashed for it to work on LTE network.
I had Note LTE i717 which supported 1700mhz lte of Rogers, and yes it worked with wind and T-mobile network using 1700 mhz frequency only after flashing tmobile modem.

Ya i am using the Bell LTE SIM
Lte will not work out of box, unless some developer gets you modem file which can make your N7105 to recognize 2600mhz as Bell LTE.

Yeah me too hate .....I was in long dilemma to buy N7105 , but when I found this then i just bought it outright from Rogers.
Also to let you know that even after flashing 2600mhz to work as lte radio, you will only get lte in 2600mhz lte available areas only, bcoz lte in NA fluctuates many frequencies from 700/1700/1900/2100/2600.
Good luck and enjoy your Note2.

I just bought a N7105 international version from Hong Kong and yes it work on Rogers here in Vancouver. Make sure you get a LTE compatible SIM card. My old SIM card did not compatible with LTE so I only got H+ or 3G. Now I changed and I am on 4G.
The reception is only 2 bars most of the time though. Sometime I got 4 bars. I tried data speed using Speedtest.net and still got at max 52Mbps DOWN and 34Mbps UP even I am at 2 bars so I guess it isn't too bad.

Hey rcyh same here i got my phone in HK..... I heard a lot people able to use 2600 Mhz on Rogers only ... Do you have any friend is using Bell and you can give it a try and see u are getting LTE there?
Woooooo comfirmed N7105 does work great with Rogers :fingers-crossed: I am getting 47Mbps down and 10Mbps up with 2 bar signal ...... I think Bell just locked the LTE 2600Mhz band to public

you go the N7105 from where? Wind's SGH-T889V? Did you do anything (unlock/root/flash radio/other) to get LTE on Rogers?
Hi,
I bought my N7105 from france, I moved to Dubai later on. Carrier supports 4G (du) but my phone mostly connects to H+, rarely 3G but never 4G.
I'm running a rooted official firmware 4.1.2, I searched on xda for same with issue it was there on Vodafone/AT&T in US and most solutions were a change in qualcomm's something!
In dubai they have GT N7100 but N7105 is not sold anywhere in middle east for some reason.
Please spare me the "buy a GT N7100" comments!
Would be great if have any suggestions.
Thanks.

Supporting 4G doesn't mean you'll GET 4G. They have to use the same frequency bands as supported by your device or it won't work.
According to 4g-map.info uae supports 1800 anf 2600 mhz so there is no reason why the n7105 wouldnt be comptible. What baseband do you have? Im running h3g nedma1 and I can see all three currently active 4g networks in the uk. So maybe try flashing that baseband check out the n7105 flashable modem collection in n7105 android development

Also check with your carrier. You might need a special APN for 4G access, you might need your IMEI added to an approved list.
There's much more to it than just the handsets physical capabilities.
Yes.. You have to check whether you device support the network frequency or not.
I am from Malaysia. Study in US currently. I am using my N7100. And T-mobile network.
T-Mobile doesnt support 1900mhz frequency (except san jose, san francisco and certain area). When i go out of these area, i only get 2G in my international version note 2. So, do do some research and get a carrier than has your device frequency. You can get the answer from Wiki.
Ask from your operator what frequency they are using for 4G. I think Note II supports 800, 900,1800 and 2600mhz for 4G. If ur operator uses other frequency which is not supported by Note2, then u wont get 4G on your device. In my operator, they use 1800mhz for 4G, so I can use 4G on my device.

If you look at my previous post you will see I have already told him what frequencies they use in uae. Plus the fact that the n7105 supports these frequencies

Hello all -
I have recently relocated to the UK from the US, and I have a US Galaxy S3 (ATT) which is rooted (running CM 10.2) and SIM-unlocked. I have no issues using this with 3G networks here (TMobile) but would it also work on EE's 4G LTE network if I upgraded my plan, or would I require a different model to get LTE here?
TIA
J
Do some research. If the carrier that you want to use uses the same lte frequencies, then it will work. If not, you're out of luck.

I did a lot of poking around, only to end up on Wikipedia looking up 4G frequencies. The answer is no...!
