Hello,
My boot aninmation on my Samsung Galaxy s3 won't change.
I paste bootanimation.zip in /data/local/bootanimation.zip
This didn't work.
Also in /data/media didn't work.
Please help me.

i mean
i mean system/media

Read this and flash the file from step 1. Should fix this for you.

Boot animation on stock ff18

Can someone tell me where the bootanimation.zip is located on stock Android 4.0.4 ff18

Pretty sure the stock boot animation isnt in bootanimation.zip either its like a qmg file or something.
Yeah in the system media folder right ?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
So should I remove the qmg file and push bootanimation.zip via root explorer or is there another way? Just want the glowing S from Calks rom as my bootanimation. Instead of sprint to bright and loud at night
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Are you on a stock kernel? You need a custom kernel that supports boot animation zips.

I'm on stock rom its rooted with agat

Hmm no answer yet so bumping this question
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Sorry been really busy. You have agats kernel you can push the boot animation into system media. U may need to rename it to sanim.zip

If you got this working with your stock/agat, please let me know as I want to change the boot anim on my GF's phone as well..
Thanks
Boot animation support is built into the kernel. So it doesn't matter what rom your on. You can use rom toolbox to change your boot animation and then go into system/media and see what it's named. Either bootanimation.zip or sanim.zip . Then after that you can push any boot animation into the system/media.

If you have a kernel that supports it like Agat or any other supportive kernel it will work all you gots to do is flash one of these bootanimation zip from the link provided in the bottom. Flash the bootanimation zip from recovery and after booting up replace it with the one you want to use go to system/media folder and replace reboot enjoy.. Anyone got a flashable zip of this? I removed my current boot animation zip and push this one and changer perms but gives nothing but a Android screen then black. Then I have to pull battery and flash another or restore previous to get phone back on.

Do you know how to use adb in recovery? It will give you better results. Go into record dry go to mounts and storage and mount sdcard then go to a command prompt and push it over unmount sdcard then reboot
Still getting nothing from this. Tried different downloads, and checked permissions. Each download either goes black, or just shows the Android logo. Never used ADB.

Is there proper permissions holding me back? Check what boxes in each?
Download the CM10SavesZip.zip from OP
Extract the Zip file into a folder in your download directory
Inside the Zip file are 2 folders "Horizontal" and "Vertical"
Choose which orientation you want and open that folder
Go to the 480 folder and copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/media and set permissions to rw-r--r--
Reboot and enjoy new animation
Don't forget to rename the bootanimation.zip that is already in that folder. I used bootanimation1.zip

Boot animation not installed on galaxy note 2.

Hi.. I'm using stock Firmware, rooted, perseus kernel, and I wanna change my boot animation. I used rom toolbox and click "install". It says "install complete" .
Then, I reboot my phone, but there's still Samsung loop logo. I've look for the answer in this forum, YouTube, Google and found this : http://androidforums.com/admire-all...flashable-new-bootanimations-how-install.html
But I don't understand properly and can't still change my boot animation. I also delete boot animation.zip in system/media/ but it also didn't change my boot animation.
Does anyone know how to change boot animation? Where I was wrong?
Thanks for anyone who can help me out.

It's pretty easy to do. I just downloaded the N5 version, and using Root Explorer renamed it to bootanimation.zip, moved it to /system/media, set the permissions and it works fine.
Looks pretty good as well.

could you elaborate a bit more please. Are you running a aosp or tw rom? Thanks.
Worked perfectly for me.

same here, using es file explorer i allowed permissions and downloaded the zip file. I changed the zip file to bootanimation.zip and moved it to system/media and then changed the permissions back. Basically toggling es file explorer off so that it doesn't have write permissions and rebooted. The animation looks great. Now that i know how to do this i want to find more to try out lol.
Now if we can figure out how to change the tmobile power down animation.
I modified that boot ani for the note 3 and added an extra animation within it. Runs smooth. Try this out

You just need to change the FPS in the desc.txt file from 10 to 15 and save and re-zip it up using store compression.
I changed the desc.txt file from 10 to 15 frames per seconds so it works on faster booting phones. If you need it faster, I can change it to 20 just let me know. http://d-h.st/1m1
Flashable zip or push it to system?
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda premium
Push it to system\media. If you dont feel comfortable doing that, then you can download the app "Boot Animations" from the play store. Select local and browse for the zip file and then click on it and you should have the option for install.
Looks awesome,
I am running wicked 5, it's boot is using qmg, how do I install this?
thank you in advance
What I had to do to deactivate the qmg from being the boot animation was download and install this boot animation from kevinrocksman:
http://goo.im/devs/kevinrocksman/Bootanimations/Note3/Sprint/Flashable/BiosFlashable.zip
This install is an aroma installer so you will install it through recovery. No need to clear cache or dalvik. I know this isn't the boot animation you want, but it does something to deactivate the qmg boot. So once this is done and you reboot, you should be able to copy your bootanimation to system\media. Just make sure the name of the file is bootanimation.zip and set the permissions to (rw-r-r-) and reboot. Should work now.

What rom are you on? If you are on Vision-X the stock animation files are still in there. You just need to go to /system/bin and find the file named "bootanimation" and rename it to something else (like bootanimation.bak2), then find "bootanimation.bak" and rename it to "bootanimation". Reboot phone and voila.
I am looking for the same....Using Insane KitKat
