http://www.grabitpack.com/
I got this a week ago. I love the slim design of the N7, and REALLY hated the one smart flipcase I got on ebay. It made the N7 heavier, bulkier, and more unwieldy.
I had seen these a year or so ago, and have some vision issues, so I need to carry several pairs of eyeglasses with me.
I looked in my bookmarks, pulled this up, and the grabbit is a perfect solution for me!
The front leg pocket easily holds my galaxy s3 so I can tether, and they also hold 2 pairs of eyeglasses.
The large pocket has no zipper, so there is nothing to scratch the tablet, and because it has both a Velcro closure and a snap strap, the tablet is safe n secure. Because of its location, there is also no twist stress put on the tablet.
There aren't the cheapest things at $25 a pop, but I got both left and right for about $50 shipped, and the seller even included the expansion straps for waist and legs. (The waist fits up to 43" or so.)
I don't need the expansions, but it was nice of him to offer them.
You could easily put a ps3 game controller in the left large pocket if you wanted on the go gaming on the tablet, and there are plenty of pockets to carry things like bt headsets, a charger cord and the like.
I'm still on the hunt for a VERY slim smartcase with a front cover, but this will suit me fine for now.
Not sure if serious

For a slim smart cover, have you looked at the Moko UltraSlim? I bought the UltraSlim in all white, but they offer a wide variety of colors. I absolutely love mine, and haven't used my eBay folio case since I received the Moko.

Yep, semi serious. We hike a lot, and go bike riding as well, so something like this just made sense. I'm tired of fanny packs, and if I just use the left or right side, it adds JUST enough space to carry all my crap.
Plus I'd rather have it than a man purse.
Why do you need a tablet when you go hiking or biking?

We use mytracks to record out hikes and share them on facebook, and for later reference. Since my tablet gets MUCH better battery than my phone, I tether to the phone, and then use the tablet for the main device.
The main point though, is to have one easy to use carrying device for all my out n about things.. shopping, outdoor stuff, ect.
I was diagnosed diabetic a number of years ago, and that created some very wonky vision issues. I need at least 2 pairs of glasses with me at all times, and the tablet is much easier to read than even the large screen on my galaxy s3.
I've broken more pairs of reading glasses than I can mention pocketing them, and having three pairs of glasses hanging off your t shirt neck looks like hell.
This bag solves all my personal mobile storage issues, without some man purse thing handing off my neck, or having something in my hands at all times.
This holster is awesome You can even carry a gun inside :good:

I'm pretty sure you put a CCW and tablet, ammo. This would be a good Tactical team bag. Some use optic finders for certain situation. For the price this is a nice bag.

They make a more heavy duty deluxe version, but that's more expensive, and has a zipper on the tablet sized pocket, which could potentially scratch it.
Get a fanny pack.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I hate fanny packs. They can't be worn in a car, and you can barley fit a tablet in them. Plus they have metal zippers which can scratch tablets.
I have a fanny pack, and do use it for hiking for carrying emergency and food stuffs, as well as our drink bottles, but that's unacceptable for day to day shopping and such.

I was looking for a bag to bring with me the tab, you can help me in choosing? thanks
One option is this:
http://www.amazon.com/STM-Bags-Scout-iPad-Black/dp/B004G8TY18/ref=pd_cp_e_1
66 views and no response, I guess you're not using a bag to take you behind the tab
That's the bag I had wanted, but $51 is more than I'd like to spend.
I ended up settling on this:
http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-VNA-216-16-Inch-Attache/dp/B0034UCMJA/ref=dp_cp_ob_a_title_2
The Tab 10.1 (with Samsung slip-case) fits perfectly into the front pocket and I still have enough room for two Softcover binders (I'm a student) and any accessories in the main compartment.

I'm looking for a handbag for everyday use, it is not too bulky but at the same time allow me to bring the tab safe.
With the current exchange rate euro / dollar a bag that costs about 36 euros I indicated to add the shipping.

~28€ (shipping included to ITA)

I've found a couple that look ok.
The Brenthaven Switch and the Booq Boa Push.
They're both designed for the iPad but I would imagine the slight difference in dimensions shouldn't be an issue.

I bike with my 10.1 all the time; I just use a Patagonia Half Mass (http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/half-mass-messenger-bag?p=48315-0-252) which has a little laptop sleeve inside. Not specifically designed for tablets, but it does the job. They have a smaller version, Mini Mass, that may fit a tablet more snugly: http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/minimass-shoulder-bag?p=48266-0-425

I'm also looking for a bag for my Tab but more of the backpack style. I work outdoors so it would need to be able to hold my tab securely in its own compartment, my lunch box/bag, extra clothes, and safety gear. Has to be large, 25-30 liter capacity should do. But what I'm really looking for is for it to have a dedicated secure pocket to house my tab. I've come across the Thule Crossover bags which look like what I need. A lil steap in price so i Just want to weigh my options before I make any purchases. Let me know if you've come across anything like what I'm looking for. Thanks.

Hey Guys,
For what its worth I currently use a padded slip from Swiss Gear that I got at Walmart for around $14.99 which fits the tab great. It has a front zipper for cleaning cloth, headphones, etc.
Below is picture of it (one on the bottom). Sitting on top of it is an portable harddrive case I bough recently for the humor factor as its a mini-me of the case for the tab:
I use a crumpler style bag to lug my android tablets.

Hey guys, a little OT but I'm glad this thread came up because I have no idea where to post this question.I have a canvas bag from Gap that looks like this that I absolutely love to carry my stuff around in. However, it's just regular canvas with hardly any protection at all. Currently I have my Tab in a PyroSkins Clip Case but that's it.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to permanently incorporate a protective sleeve into the bag so that it would be the same as messenger bags with built in laptop/tablet sleeves. So you open it up and see attached to the back wall something like this (or something as delicious as this find on Etsy).
I don't have enough money to buy a new bag but i could see this being a cheap workaround. Plus I love the bag I use already. Thanks!

I figured it was about time to ask everyone to show off their case with stickers, their fancy paint mods, cool clips, holsters, docks or whatever you like to use with or mod on or around the use of your DInc2!
Here's what I got.
First my ever so slightly modded dock for using my DInc2 as an alarm clock. All I really did was buy a $5 speaker set off Amazon and cut it so the phone would fit in it.

Then I have my car dock made based on something I saw in the Eris forums way back with hooks to hang it from my ashtray, and a little Sugru to pad the "feet" so it doesn't slide too much when I rally race my Pup around the corners. The rubber bands are to provide traction for the phone so I don't need to build sides for the "dock". This thing works amazing!
Please share ANY gear you love and/or modded to work for you!
Binder clips FTW.
DIY Extended Battery TPU case.
I made this case myself after I got the OEM extended battery. It was originally a HTC branded TPU case. I simply carved out the back, which allows the new, larger back door to bump out. I REALLY wish that I did not get white.
This was hard. I had a good xacto knife from Utrecht, and probably spent an hour trying to shave and sand it... and i still think it looks crappy. Cutting through TPU is tough. Next time I would be interested to see if I can heat the knife up somehow... but the problem with doing this that if you make a mistake you can trash the case. It's hard to know how heat would affect things. Maybe next time I could try boiling the case to soften it up before cutting. However, that could trash the case, so I don't know if it would work.
So you can do this, but making it look good (and not rough around the edges) is quite difficult. Cutting anything that is not a straight line is really hard.
A 2nd effort I made with a different TPU case resulted in me destroying a case.
However, it works great. This case is now a bumper.
Pics are attached, happy to answer any questions.
I think you did a great job with that. I'm inspired to try it myself with an old tpu.
I wonder if a soldering iron would smooth out the edges, or maybe a dremel?
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
If I had to guess, the soldering iron would be best. That said, Orbison almost certainly going to char the case.
I would like to try a hot knife, that might actually work really well. Again, a white case is not ideal.

I cut it with a dremmel type tool. I've made more cuts in it since then to free up more real estate on the screen. I have seen people use Sugru to line the edges for a more custom look, but it's not necessary.
Really, the sound from that thing is quite good especially for the price. You can even take it with you if you put a few AA batteries in it. It folds up to a nice little cube for travel.

I'm a prototype plastic injection mold builder and I trim plastic all day the best way to cut out the back of the case is to use a pencil type grinder dremel etc.. Grind out the back and leave your trim line alittle full then come back with some course grit sandpaper or a file and your lines will be dead smooth.. Just take it slow

Just got my Seidio Active case to replace my cheapie carbon fiber case that I got for 9 bux. The Seidio active case is exactly like the Active case I have for my phone. Well built and great color.
The case is pretty self explanatory if you have an existing active case. You slip on the rubber polymer case and align the openings and then slip on the (in my case) red 'exo-skeleton' case. This part I can forsee taking the corner bumps very well lol.
Pro's:
Awesome looking. Gives a bit more bulk than naked KF, but I like it. Reminds me of a tuffbook lol. The case has a cover that has a dual purpose. A stand and an optional cover to the case. Great for travel! The color is just cool lol.
Another great thing is that the usb port is just clear enough to plug in your micro usb plug. I haven't tried headphones yet though. The speaker grills line up perfectly as well. And for the cover/stand, you can go either landscape OR portrait mode on a whim. You just pick it up and rotate it. No worrying about extra joints, wobbly mounts, etc. It's just a tab that extends out to prop your KF and works wonderfully in any mode. Being that my comp at work and my out let are on the opposite sides of my desk, this works for me.
Con's:
The only con for me is that the power button is completely covered up. We all know that it's a good thing to see if the KF is powered up or plugged in correctly or if we pressed the button on time to access the recovery, but being that it's covered up, my OCD-ness NEEDS to know if I pressed it correctly lol.
Anyways here are the pics....

I wouldn't ditch a case you like and happy with for just a new case. I bought this actually because the guy on ebay accepted my offer lol. I was intending to get the microshell Marware case but because the offer was accepted, I was stuck with it lol.
I mean I don't regret getting this. I adore Seidio quality. I use my active case when I travel on my phone so that means it's a must have/use when traveling on airplanes, trains, long roadtrips, etc. .
I do recommend it if they are on the fence. Totally worth the 35 shipped I paid. In line with my cost for the active case for my phone lol.
I like the look a lot. I wish it was somehow one piece though rather than two separate pieces.

I thought that as well initially. Having had a gtablet not too long ago with a good case that was attached.
But it became obvious why they opted not to. I mean you can put the kf in any way you want, depending on where your plug is. Perfect example is Flipboard. The app only shows in portrait mode and if I want to read it, I don't have to dismantle the darn thing to do so or use some sort of rubic's cube trickery to get it to the way I want. Just pick it up and rotate the sucker. Just perfect and simple IMO.
And being that it is two separate pieces, the cover is totally optional and not required.

Absolutely nothing negative to say about this case. My only real concern was that the blue finish on the corners of the case would start to come off after a while of snapping it in and out of the cover/stand. As you can see in the pic it is not happening at all. I like it so much that I'm getting one of these for my Galaxy Nexus.

I had been considering a bag just for my N7 but i also carry a 13.3 zenbook around sometimes so having a separate bag might be overkill. I see here that you were looking at a vertical bag in the 10 inch size for ipads. I have an STM Scout 2 that i used with my Asus TF101+keyboard dock that i'm quite fond of. It seems STM has a newer bag with more pockets:
STM Linear Bag
Maybe that might be a more fitting design. I find that around these sizes is the smallest you can get without looking a bit silly.

It was, stuffed with a Patagonia Nano Puff pullover, a flask of Blanton's bourbon, a Samsung Infuse, a DT Windstopper balaclava, and some snacks, in addition to what it normally carries.
Usually it just carries my lunch and the emergency field gear.
Looking into a Plan B from Hazard 4:
Swissgear Vertical Travel Bag
I use the SwissGear Vertical Travel Bag. I don't know if Target still carries them or not, but this is a great bag. You will want a case on your N7 as it does not have much padding. I can just fit my Asus Tf300T with a case and my N7 in this bag with several accessories. I bought it a few years ago, so it may be hard to find.
So I needed a case for my tablet as I was going out on a trip. Amazon didnt have the case I wanted and I was left with no choice but to head to the nearest Best Buy and grab whatever they have. I saw the official Samsung case but at $79.99 its way over priced in my opinion.
I was actually looking for something cheap but this was the only one they had in stock. It costs $49.99 (still a bit expensive for me) but got a quality case that matches the looks of my white tablet.
Its a black leather case that doesnt feel cheap. I find that it gives a more professional look than other cases found in Amazon.

It doesnt have a magnetic cover, so it uses an elastic strap to hold the cover when closed. I thought that this will be annoying at first, but found that it actually works well.
Also take note of the exact cut hole for the camera and flash, and for the spen.
There is soft suede like material inside to protect the screen. It also has 2 slots for business cards or small notes. You can also see a cut out for the charger so you can charge the tablet when the cover is closed.
The tablet is held securely by soft suede grips on all 4 corners. They are an exact fit and does not let the tablet wiggle or move around.
The case also acts as a stand and you can vary the viewing angle to your preference. Notice that the speakers, headphone jack and microsd card slot are free from obstructions.
The power and volume buttons as well as the IR blaster are unobstructed.
There's even a pen holder located on the top if you have an extra stylus.
Lastly, the case can be used as an inverted stand to allow the use of the microUSB port for charging or usb otg.
In summary, it is a decent case that offers good protection without giving a cheap feel. I still find it a bit expensive but it gives of a professional look that I dont mind bringing it everywhere with me especially at work.

Does it obstruct the charging port? I'd like to be able to charge it while using it as a stand.

Yes it will get obstructed if being used as a stand in landscape mode. I find that this is a design flaw with Samsung as the charging port will be blocked no matter what case you are using. I wish they put the charging port to the side. This also makes it difficult for me to attach a USB otg cable for use with my ps3 controller when playing games as most games are in landscape mode.
Edit: op updated. The case can be used as an inverted stand

This looks similar to Belkin case for original 10.1, I had it for over a year, great case.
For charging turn tablet 180 degrees, upside down, in the case, and you can change whole standing.

You are correct. There is a way for the case to act as an inverted stand. Really wish the box came with drawings lol. Will add this to my op.

It absolutely adds substantial heft and thickness.
It is a nice case and it looks pretty good, but the tradeoff is not worth it. It makes the using the tablet a chore...at least it did for me.
I bit the bullet and got the Samsung book cover...IMO it looks better and it add very little heft. Not a perfect case, but I would definitely say it is worth $30 more than the Belkin.

It adds a a little bit of thickness but it doesnt get in the way of useability and portability. I actually now bring my tablet almost everywhere I go.

Yes the Samsung book cover is nice although its out of my budget range. And Best Buy didnt have the white one so I didnt feel like spending $80 on a case that doest match the colour of my tablet. If they had one in white then I might have walked away with that case.

Good point. After using the Samsung case for the past few days, I'm having my doubts about whether this is going to be a case I can stick with.
