Hi everybody,
First, thanks a lot to "ycbjr" for his excellent CMB rom,
but I'm experiencing a trouble in several games such as no gameplay by touch in Need for Speed Most Wanted, Mini Motor Racing that make me unable to play games, not even select menus in main screen.
I also wanted to install Dead Trigger 2 on CMB but unlike the LG stock rom, doesn't start.
I'm using CMB r2 version from 12/18/'13.
Does the issue come from a wrong install of the rom, or something else ?
PS: apologize for my english

You really should follow the thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565163
There are several reports of performance issues with various games. This rom still appears to need some more tweaking before its operating at same level as stock rom. I would recommend you follow the thread I listed for further updates as to what's going on. I am surprised you flashed the ROM already without knowing what you were getting into. Reading the threads goes a long way to understanding current status on the different ROMS and which may best suit your needs.
Thanks and questions
Hi,
Thanks for your answer cbb77.
So, if I understand, CMB rom is based on CM which is nightly updated, meaning CMB has to wait on CM advancement to fulfill ? Am I right ?
In a word, if I want a rom that works more or less like stock, I have to install CM with nightlies to improve step by step features of my LG Gpad ?
About nightlies, have I to wipe data/factory reset my tablet each time it updates ? Do I have to install every single update or can I wait a week (for exemple) and install the latest containing all previous improvements ?
Sorry if I'm boring with all my questions and painful with my english.
Thanks
If you are updating CM11 nightlies, you do NOT have to wipe data. Only when going from one rom to someone else's rom.
No, updating once a week is perfectly fine.

You don't need roms for that, you need kernels try Franco's kernel. Cynogen is the most stable and bug free ROM out there.

Thanks a lot.

Get the latest version from here and be sure to select the correct device or you know..... Brick etc...
You can find many kernels on the development section of your device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development this is for maguro
You can use others but I prefer using Franco kernel as it is very easy to flash (you can download it's app from play store just type Franco kernels and download it. You can use auto flash option from it)
Remember these things are very tricky,it can make your device unusable if you install it incorrectly so..... Take care
And yeah nightlies are official so you better get them from their website as they are fully tested and it is less likely to go anything wrong with them

thank that person and yeah it is for maguro

I know that people generally stick to Cyanogenmod due to it's stability, but I think it is overrated due to the fact that they support so many devices. I would prefer ROMs where the devs actually have the device, and focus on the device since they plan to have it for a while.
With that being said, here is my favorite ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/rom-omnimetal-linaro-omni-rom-t2550477
I haven't had any issues (like apps that force close) on it, and apps run fine. In fact, I have also switched to ART and it is pretty stable and blazingly fast. My test was its battery life, and it lasted me close to 7 days on standby with groove ip running on it (receiving calls, texts, etc.), and 2 days with active usage with a sim card.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for atleast reply and suggesting me some ROM which is i ever try.. but now i am little confused, for selecting ROM, I made my mind as per last reply ROM from CM11 Nightly and Kernel From Franco but now OMNI i need to learn about that too.
Can anyone have suggestion on that or give me little more light on ROM.
Thanks
Its good to have choices
If you are new to flashing ROMs, usually CM 11 is an excellent choice.
However, to me speed, low RAM consumption and good battery life matters, so here are the reasons why I chose that ROM:
1. Linaro toolchain - Here is a link to explain why it is faster than standard CM:
http://www.androidauthority.com/linaro-android-is-up-to-twice-as-fast-as-stock-android-92831/
2. Dirty_V kernel - For speed, most of us Nexus users feel it is the best. It is an improvement over Franco's kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/kernel-dirtyv-t2613655
So, I usually choose a ROM which uses the linaro toolchain. I also got a ton of cool features like notifications, omniswitch, etc. which you can read about in the ROM link from my previous post.
In the end, I am just giving you suggestions. Why don't you try creating a nandroid backup and then flashing many ROMs to see which one you like? Using the nandroid backup, you could always come back to the tried and trusted CM 11 !
Here is a small intro to nandroid backups which may be useful even in the future in case you mess up your phone with a bad update:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/NANDroid
Hope this helps! :good:
I'm switch between 2 Roms.
Remix
Vanir
Bothe stable and fast.
CU
Litening
Thanks really ! I'll definatly read and try on of that, but first I'll take nandroid backup and learn how to restore etc.
CM11 is good but some time its response very lately specially when charging.

You might want to try omnirom (google for omnirom download, you want the maguro version).
They push daily updates (I install updates every 1-3 weeks). They closely track AOSP (meaning a new AOSP will be made available ASAP). It's a very stable rom and I'm running it my nexus 4 and a modified version on my Galaxy Nexus. It's been incredibly stable and reliable so far. Oh, and its 4.4.2
No try omnimetal! No try vanir! No try liquidsmooth! No try Xenonhd!. So you need to test everything. These threads are useless and not allowed. Choose one you like. Every rom is stable unless specified otherwise..

Hello, I'm having some trouble with running the official twitch app properly on this version of cyanogenmod that I have installed. I can't remember which thread I found it in but I remember that back when I was running the stock firmware it played fine on source even on 1080p streams. I realize that this might not be the right place to ask this but I atleast have to try, I really don't wanna go back to stock, I love CM.
The problem that I run into is that I can't seem to stream on a higher setting than medium without it getting all stuttery or even laggy. This is a screenshot showing exactly which version I have installed, imgur.com/VRz1F6R (forgive me for not creating a link but I can't post links since this is my first post. Apparently I'm a lurker) . I'm just a dabbler when it comes to custom roms and such, I follow guides and I love the customization, but I rarely know exactly what I'm doing, I would really love to get some insight here and if possible a working solution.
This is an alpha version. Maybe you should stay with stock or cm11 snaphshots...

Hi!
Yesterday I decided to try and upgrade my nightly. I Used the check for updates on the rom and downloaded the nightly. What I didn't realise was that I was downloading CM11.
So I accicently flashed CM11 nightly, I then factory reset the gpad and flashed cm12 nightly. But now I have a problem with accessing my internal memory. I can't download files since it can't find the download folder. If I try to access the internal folders they show up as empty.
Anyone have any tips on how to proceed?
I lost my internal memory too. I flashed cm11 again and it restored, then did factory reset, cm12

Noobish question, but how does an Official build differ from an Unofficial? IE, CM12 vs DU, is DU considered Official because it is unaltered AOSP?

if i'm not mistaken, official builds are done and maintained by a group member from the developing team of any given rom. Unofficial builds are done by any member who does not belong to the developing team and who decides to build any given rom. Also i believe that any lines of code used are not officially submitted and supported and any support would have to be done by the unofficial rom builder and not the developing team.
hope this makes sense and helps in any way.

My last phone was running CM 7.3 Gingerbread, so please bear with my noobness. I'm not big on flashing new ROMs. I like to find a daily driver and run with that.
Right now, I'm trying to decide which ROM to try after stock. I'd like to get rid of a lot of the bloatware and gain more customization. I've heard great things about your ROM in the past on other phones, so am leaning towards it.
Things I absolutely want:
HDMI/Slimport out. I don't know if this feature is ROM specific, or if the G3 does it automatically thru hardware. It works great on stock.
LG's IR Controller apps. I like that the G3 has the IR feature. I have it programmed to replace all my remotes currently.
I'm with MetroPCS. They use TMobile's towers. Should there be any problems (I haven't seen anything on this in search for the 851 and don't think it would be, but thought I could ask people smarter than I).
Do those features work on your ROM? If not, does anyone know what ROMs those features/apps are functioning?

Do not ask about other ROMs, this is NOT the thread for that, flash and find out, you don't like it? Uninstall it, it's simple. Also, regarding asking about if d851 supports METRO, ask the carriers, not in this, this is for the ROM questions, nothing else, please keep the OT to the minimum

It's probably a BT LE device. If you read the last page or two of Bliss Pop or Resurrection you'll see they have issues. Probably something in the base code. I know the Bliss Pop dev says he might have a fix but hasn't released an update.

Hello!
I just bought a G3 D855 (arrives next week), and I don't know where to start. Should I start out with the stock experience? Should I go straight into the AOSP arena? I'd love some insight where possible. Coming from Samsung and Touchwiz I wonder if the LG skin is as annoying?
If someone could recommend a stock rom to start with that would be awesome or offer any insights I would really appreciate the help! - Looking around the CloudyG3 V2.5 looks promising -
I don't yet know what rom will be on the device - I believe it will be 4.4.2. Should I do an OTA update to Lollipop or what would be ideal? Just root and flash?
Finally which method to root? The one click method by avicohh? Is there another I should try?
Apologies for all the noob questions - just want to do right by my new hardware!
Thanks in advance for any insights!

If you want a best camera quality with ois working then stock based rom is best for you.If you love simplicity & ready to give up LG features then use CM or AOSP based roms. Its your personal preference.LG G3 camera hasn't been ported to cm or aosp based roms yet..Its your personal preference. You can use cloudy rom if you want g4 touch with slight modifications over stock lollipop. On the other side there are many LG UI themes are available in store. Those are pretty cool. You can try it out.
If you want to root then use this software as this is the easiest way..

Wrong Section
Also a self help thread should not be created in the development forum since this section is dedicated to discussion most closely pertaining to roms and development in general and so a mod can help you out here.
And while we're at it, you might need give the roms a try before finding what exactly is best for you. CM or stock both work equally well. In general view I prefer stock since it's better at times in terms of stability and other software features. CM has been a hit and miss for me. Previously used to own a Note 3 till it got jacked out of my pocket. Worked pretty well on that but I prefer stock on this.
Generally speaking the phone's a good combination of power and aesthetics. You won't regret your stay here since there's so much to do especially since the bump root. Have at it and feel free to ask any questions.
