Hey all,
I've been trying to figure out where to purchase replacement housings for the Verizon HTC One. I checked amazon and eBay and even though there's a bunch of them there it doesn't day if it's compatible with the Verizon version. Even the sellers don't know.
Anyone know where I can get them?

Just checked the site out, I found the part but it doesn't specify what carrier it can be used for or even if it's a universal fit.

I am sure they are all the same.
Yeah, one would think but I'm not willing to take a $40 gamble on it. I used to do repairs on phones and like the iPhone 4 for example you have to get the specific part if it's for GSM or cdma

Well duh, the CDMA iPhone 4 doesn't have a SIM card slot.
Even for the 4S you still have to get the specific model. In any case, I would still like to know.

So, I was wondering how many people here know about USB test jigs.
In all but the most extreme cases, they can unbrick a Galaxy phone. So far, every Galaxy-class device has worked with these. I was only wondering because all of the threads about people returning their phones to Sprint because the somehow bricked it.
I would say at this point, that anyone who wants to mess with one of these phones, such as flashing a ROM, CWM, or one of these early root methods, should either make or buy one. If you don't want to make one, they're on Amazon, which is about as mainstream as you can get.
This message brought to you by the number seven, and the letter Q.
Can you explain what a jig is? sounds complicated.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Basically if you bork your phone and cannot acces "Dowload Mode" to flash a new Rom by using the 3 button press, this Jig will put your phone in download mode for you so you wouldnt have to return your phone to Sprint
I'm making one now so I can get rid of the stupid yellow triangle.

That's the only reason I didn't get that one, would have taken forever to get.
Made it and used it. No more yellow warning and I show as having an official samsung binary!
Good info here...
I never heard of these until now.
For those making them; how do you do that? I'm ok as far as soldering etc but not sure what else is involved.

Yes I'm an idiot, I know. I bought it off eBay and realized too late.Question is, can I pay a lab to mod it for me or something? It's a Verizon. I heard it has a microSIM slot that's almost sealed shut but still existing. So it would probably just require reprogramming the frequencies. And I'll handle unscrewing the slot and inserting my SIM. Is this possible?

Worse case scenario you can sell it. The good thing is it is a very desirable phone. The sim also is completely removable. Your thinking of the sprint version which has the weird sim situation.

So obviously the best solution is to get the correct phone, so I'm in favor of that, but it also got me thinking.
The Galaxy S3 has a workaround to use GSM SIM cards, is there something similar for the Galaxy Nexus?

I am ordering a new screen/digitizer/bezel. Is the tmobile version a SGH-T889 or is it a T7100?
I am getting confused.
Along those lines, are the screens the same across the brand or am I looking for one specific to the TMobile version becaus eof hardware placement?
The picture I have attached is what I want to order........I just don't know if it is the right one.
To answer your first question... It's the T889... wouldn't recommend trying to replace the screen if you can't even Google what a phones model number is. Just my. .2 cents

I just found it for $239. I am still looking though.
So I'm thinking of buying a Used GS3 or Nexus 4. Since the GS3 has expandable memory that's what I'm leaning towards.
Anyway, what kind of things should I ask/look for when getting a used GS3 other than scratches and cracks?
The best and safest thing you can do is meet the seller at a Tmobile retail store. Have an employee check the status of the phone. They can even make a note that the phone has been sold and the original owner cannot report it stolen or lost.

Any common problems with the phone? (For example, the Nexus 7 screen lift.)

I bought and returned 3 Nexus 7s early on because of problems like the screen lift so it's why I ask.
I also saw that some Nexus 4s had some back glass lift problems and the HTC One has some separation/cracking issues.
I don't think I've read anything about the Samsung phones though other than the plasticky feel.
I was checking out the T-Mobiles' web site and saw that there is NO other versions of the S3 only the LTE variant that just came out.
Found this interesting not sure if other knew about this or ?
I had spoken to them as I just purchased my S3 in Jan and was told I could do a trade in and $150.00 out of pocket... No thanks ....
Correct. The T999L is replacing the T999 across the board. No reason to sell the old one anymore.
