Hello everyone,
I have installed on my HTC Desire the MildWild CM-8.0 JG Stable ROM (link here), and it works very nice except for the GPS, that it's not working at all..
I've googled and searched a lot, and as far as I can see I've found out that it's a common problem, or at least I'm not the only one.. Things I've tried are:
install latest radio: 5.17.05.23 (I took that here)
install AGPS Patch (link here)
install and run these apps: GPS Status, GpsFix, FasterFix
install this GPS Fixation: here
none of these steps worked.. I can't get the GPS working.. I'm a little bit worried right now, I think I'll need to change ROM (but I like this rom so much!)..
Can you please help me? Do you have any other suggestion? Any idea?
Thanks in advance, if you need more info about my HTC or anything else, just ask.
Thanks again

hello,
I want to install CoreDroid so i took a look at the threat and i think i have to install a new radio cus it says this:
Radio_12.41.60.19_26.06.04.14_M - (HTC Ace Gingerbread S Generic 2.16.0.0)
- Also flash the following RIL package: RIL 2.16 (NOTE: already included in the ROM)
12.35d.60.140fU_26.08.03.07_M - (HTC Ace Gingerbread S Generic 2.25.0.0)
- Also flash the following RIL package: RIL_2.25
but i don't know which one of the radio's i should install i also can't download the RIL_2.25 package (it says not found)
can I just install the other radio because it says the RIL 2.16 is included in the ROM?
and do I have to install an other version of CoreDroid if I do so?
thanks in advance
Hi there,
i'm only new at this too (i rooted my phone about 1 week ago now), so dont take my advice as being spot on, but i would go with 12.41.60.19 first & see how it goes. that way your not having to worry about finding the correct RIL or anything.
You can install other radio without any problem and you must try your self wich radio is best for you, because there is no such thing as "best radio". It depend on where you live and what company provide you gsm....
Hi,
i installed the new Gingerbread Rom Build 4.5.1-85 Android 2.3.3 for Defy and everything works fine, except the AGPS. GPS works, but the fix is slow, so the answer to this is this post:

But i need some step by step advice on how to do and where to get...
Thanks

I have HTC Desire HD and after installing LeeDroid rom v3.3.3 i see that my GPS does not lock to the satellite but the GPS notification keep flashing and does not lock .... also the GPS Device can see the satellite and count them ..... so any one can help me pls
no any answer ?
not enough info to be sure to give you the right answer, you know.
If I were you:
I will use the gps.conf file you had in your previous ROM (if you were happy with your GPS lock), then I will update the A-GPS data.
I will check in the ROM thread if other users encounter the same problem
Check also if there is not a radio which has to be used with your ROM (will be highlighted by the dev on the first page of his thread).
and useless advice: try to put your phone closer to the satellite it helps a lot... ok I go out...
Hope this will help (especially the 3 first ideas)
Hi,
since I'm not allowed to post into the developer section I open this thread here and hope for some answers.
I flashed seb's runnymede AIO 6.0.4.1 Special Edition according to the Guide, 4ext recovery, 1gb ext 4 partition on my 16 GB Class 10 sd card, have hboot cm7/r2, chose AD2SDX, let it settle for some time, rebootet and tried all that again and again about 5 times, also with generic app2SD.
Every time I have the same problem:
When I'm not connected to WLAN the only app that can acces the internet connection is the browser, all other apps and sync try and try but won't get any data. Browser works fine (and faster as on my previous LeeDroid 3.0.8.2 I think) and with a WLAN connection all the apps work.
I searched on XDA, googled it and went through some of the 1600! pages of the original thread but came up with nothing similar.
I really like this ROM, it has everything I desire, sense 3.5, runs very smoothly and other than the known bugs and the described problem it has worked perfectly so far. I really would like to use it for a longer time (until a stable ICS rom + sense comes up ) but with this problem it is not usable.
Strange that you have browser access but nothing else.
In settings>wireless & network>mobile networks> is "enable always-on mobile data" checked?
Same location, is Network Mode set to GSM/WCDMA auto?
Highly unlikely to be the cause but have you tried different APN settings for your network?
With AIO and my o2 network I have to change the settings from those pre-installed.
Just wow,
thanks for the fast response,
Thats a yes to the first two questions, but your suggestion regarding the APN worked!
Thanks a lot!
No problem. Thanks for including all the info needed to point in the right direction.
There are altogether too many "HELP! its not working!... its not working!..... do I need a new phone?!!..... questions.
Get your 10 posts out of the way and join the main AIO thread. We are always looking for tips and tweaks to get things running faster/smoother/better. Seb (the dev) has been AWOL for a week or so since he bought a new Sensation but we are still there trying out new things in his absence.

Rsk v6 or aio? I would uninstall the browser apk using root explorer then install browser apk (take it from the Rom zip) to sd-ext/app_s then reboot
sent from my Runnymede AIO using XDA app
Hi everybody,
I successfully flashed my HTC Desire S (unlocked the bootlocker) and installed Cyanogenmod 7.1.0. It has still S-OFF with hboot 2.00.*. I used the app SuperOneclick. I also see the app Superuser.
My problem ist, I can't install apps like GPS Share, Gpsfix, Android-Tacho and some german apps (DB Navigator, FahrplanDB, Flinkster, Call a Bike, Öffi). With these german apps, I can look for road map (by train), searching train connection, something like that.
When I try to install these apps, I get the message: "Application not installed"....why is it so? Why can I install some apps, but not these apps?
I hope, you can help me.
Try asking in the Desire S forum. This forum is for the normal Desire. They'll know more about your phone there and will be able to give you some advice.
Cheers.
