[Q] Any way to recover data - LG Optimus G (International)

Hello!
My LG Optimus G(E975) has fallen off a table and is almost broken. The screen is broken and touchscreen doesn't work. On the phone I have a lot of data (photos, videos and documents).
First of all I connected the phone to the USB cable but as long as there was an option "charging only" on, I can't select any other option.
Second of all I've tried to install AirDroid on the GooglePlay website but AirDroid doesn't start working automatically and tries to sign in. The broken touchScreen doesn't let me do it.
Third of all I installed a few applications such as AutoBluetooth hoping that it will turn the Bluetooth on ( in order to connect a mouse to orerate the cellphone) but it didn't work (because the application must be turned on on the phone first)
Then I tried to root the device but USB debugging turned it off.
I aslo restarted the phone in a Recovery mode and connected to it from ADB but the "sdcard" folder was empty. I don't know why it was empty - because it was not mounted or because I have no permission.
Now, the questions are:
Can i mount internal storage with user data with ADB in Recovery mod?
Can I root my device in Recovery mode with ADB or another way with save data?
Can I install any application then enabled bluetooth autoamtically?
Can i with ADB in Reocvery mode, change some files or settings to enable bluetooth or change USB mode?.
Any another way to get my data?
Thanks.

USB Connected but doesn't show up on my mac

How come the internal storage and the sd card doesn't show up on my mac? I can see that it is recognizing the phone though.
Tried it with windows 7 on parallels too for some reason they don't show up as drives. Can't seem to figure out why.
It's not on by default, you have to go to Settings>Wireless And Networks>USB Utilities>Connect Storage To PC
After you connect your phone to your computer, on your phone, bring down your notifications and click usb and then click connect usb data mode or whatever it's called. I had the same problem until I found out how it worked.
Both above answers don't give the full story. The default connectivity mode for the phone is a media connectivity mode that simplifies the process and allows you to access your data without unmounting the storage, but it's only supported by Windows. Macs can't connect that way.
86apex's information is one correct way to turn on the more typical mode that will then work with your Mac. It's just not that it's not on by default, it's just that the mode that IS on isn't supported by your system.
Megatr0n.'s instructions are only valid if you have USB debugging mode turned on. Otherwise you wouldn't see what he (I'm assuming) is describing. That said, turning on that mode (Settings/Applications/Development/USB debugging) and enabling that menu option would be easier than going through the steps 86apex listed every single time you want to connect.

Where is USB Mode MTP/PTP settings?

I used Helium to change to USB PTP mode and now mine tablet isnt recognized when connected to PC. Want to change it back to MTP mode, but I cant find anywhere in the settings to choose betweens USB modes and I just dont know how Helium broiught me there.
So where is this USB mode settings hiding in the settings?
edit:
Managed to change it back to MTP mode, be secret code *#0808# and there are few choice to choose from. I chosed just MTP, but there is also MTP + ADB and does it matter which to choose? Since the tablet is still not recognized when connected to PC as it used to do before?
Also, USB Mode is suppose in storage settings, but there is no ways to access it by just go into storage settings and only through Helium app. How do you enable this hidden settings in Storage?
Normal there should be "3 dots menu" to get there, but there isnt in mine tablet and do Samsung hve removed it or its a bug?
edit2:
Fixed it, by uninstall Helium and few other apps. After reboot and tablet is recognized when connect to pc and got USB mode choice by pulling notification down.

enable USB debugging with ADB

Hi there,
I have an issue with the S4 mini of my wife. She forgot to remove it from one of her pants pocket and placed the pants in the washing machine... I let you imagine the rest. The cellphone is pretty clean now (I did worth, in the toilet , sadly, it happened).
I placed her S4 completely disassembled in rice and a silica gel. everything is dry. I was able to turn it on however the screen did not turn on. I recovered several data but I'm not able to retrieve the sms as the phone is not rooted.
luckly, I have also a S4 mini. I managed to change the screen and it turned on !! however (tsss) the touchscreen doesn't work.
My S4 is from 2013 and hers is from 2014. something might have changed.
so as I mentioned above, I'm trying to retrieve the sms but I need to turn on the USB debugging to be able to use any program.
so what I did is to connect her S4 with ADB [normal boot, recovery, downloading mode] but can't have a connection with ADB:
adb devices
List of devices attached
adb server version (32) doesn't match this client (36); killing...
error: unknown host service
error: could not install *smartsocket* listener: cannot bind to 127.0.0.1:5037: Une seule utilisation de chaque adresse de socket (protocole/adresse could not read ok from ADB Server
réseau/port) est habituellement autorisée. (10048)
* failed to start daemon *
error: cannot connect to daemon
Do you have any idea why I can't get this connection with ADB?
and how to enable the USB debugging with a touchscreen not working ? this will enable me to use several program to retrieve the sms.
many thanks !!
unfortunately I can't get any info from \data\ as the phone is not rooted.
I'm trying to connect a mouse with a otg adapter but I can't get anything from it.
do you have any idea on how to either activate the "usb debugging mode" or to get controle of the cellphone with a mouse?
thanks
and I was able to make adb recognize the phone. that's a small step
So what I found on how to backup sms:
- sms are stored in \data\, so to have access to this partition I need to be rooted. => rooted now will simply make all data disappear which I don't want. => I'm correct, right?
- using any app to backup will need to have the USB debugging active. However I can't do anaything on the screen as it doesn't work. => to activate it with adb, I need to be rooted....
- OTG, I try to connect a mouse (otg linked to the mouse with/without power supply) it doesn't work
is it possible to simply make a clone of my phone to the computer? or to my S4 mini?
my last solution would be to buy a screen but it's 60€ just ot backup the data and as I noticed, I have to be sure the screen is compatible with the motherboard of the cellphone which is not easy...
thanks !!

[GUIDE] How to get your files from a Phone with a broken Touchscreen

My Situation is following:
Phone: LG G3
Root: Yes
Recovery: TWRP
Last night was a Party and somehow the Glass of my Phone broke. Also the Touchscreen partly stoppped working.
But i really needed the Whatsapp Messages from the Phone.
So thats what i tried (and did not work):
Connecting a mouse via a OTG-Cable to send the data over the ntwork to my computer
Did not work due to the malfunctions of my touchscreen (random touches everywhere, and my OTG-Cable had also malfunctions)
Connecting my phone to the Computer and just get'em files
Did not work due to the Notification you get when connecting to the PC: Do you accept the Connection to this PC ?
Trying to get the Files via ADB-Commands
Did not work due to ADB saying: unauthorized (because i could not click to accept the connection)
Connect my Phone via Wifi with LG-PCSuite
Did not work due to my CustomRom (Fulmics) not having this option
Trying to reach my Phone just over the Network
Did not work because i could not set up the ES-File Manager to do so
Thats what i tried (and worked):
Boot into Recovery and connect via ADB to get the Files
Here is how i did it:
Get into Recovery (Press and hold both Volume and Power button, say yes, yes)
Plug the Phone to my Computer
Check if your device shows up with the Command (you have to have adb downloaded; google) adb devices
now simply type adb pull /sdcard/WhatsApp
just alter the command to copy other folders
I hope i could help someone out.

Broken screen data recover

Hello.
After almost 3 great years my Moto bit the dust. I was wondering if it's possible to recover data from it.
Its display is broken, but i know it works, because I can still unlock it with fingerprint. It's rooted so obviously USB debugging is enabled, but it doesn't show up on device manager nor on adb devices list.
Any ideas?
-N
If you boot it to TWRP, where MTP is enabled by default, so you can copy files to your PC
