http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45256374&postcount=462
dont forget to thank Agimax

this is what i do to go back to recovery,
press and hold power button until is completely off then
press and hold volume up and power button to get to fastboot mode then
press volume down 2 times then power button.

all i did was redownload cm 10.2 then just wiped data and flashed again and it workes. so it was a bad download or maybe i forgot to wipe before flashing.

Getting Download Mode No Reocvery

So I just got this device and rooted the phone. For whatever reason, I can't seem to get into recovery when turning on the device and holding Vol Down + Power. It always goes into Download Mode. I have Clockwork installed via Rom Manager and am able to boot into Recovery that way (also if I use the Nexus Root Toolkit, when the device reboots, it cycles through recovery). I tried flashing ParanoidAndroid and it's been stuck on the loading screen forever (about 20 min). I've tried rebooting and letting it go, but it's still running. Now if I try to reboot into recovery, I cannot since it keeps going to the download screen. Am I not waiting long enough or did I do something wrong?
Hold both vol up and down at same time with power button

ahh didn't realize I could hold both and had to. Thanks!
In able to get in to recovery, you need to press vol down, vol up, and power. Then use the volume keys to navigate to recovery.

[Q] Update Bricked n7100

Yesterday plugged in Note 2 on laptop and Kies requested an update (16th of feb)....so I told kies to go ahead...
YAY...update for my phone...waited...rebooted...
and now...
- lag city..i mean slow
- turns on screen and refuses to go sleep when idle 30 seconds passes.
- after a couple of fights with itself to turn off screen it finally shuts down...and refuses to power up
- holding 10 seconds power button finally resolves this and it turns back on.
- windows detects my phone as 7 cdc devices and I don't have the drivers for it!
- phone freezes completely even when phone is off and recharging (With that battery icon)
so...this being seen...I got back my original rom and flashed it back to good old 4.1.1.... but...no problems are solved ever since I did the 4.1.2 update.
phone works but problematic.
anyone having this issue?
or seen this?
Please download this app and tell me what it says.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.vinagre.android.emmc_check
If it says "NOTE II SUDDEN DEATH? - Yes insane chip" go back to 4.1.2 as fast as you can.
If it's a SANE chip, ignore the above statement. Have you tried factory resetting the phone after the update? It could help with the lagginess, as it could be some stray app with some corrupted data clogging up the system resources. Hard to pinpoint why or what but a factory reset should fix it if it's app related.
Cheers

[Q] Twr help

I recently rooted my note 2 with the 1 click for the verizon version. I had n problems rooting. It booted into TWR , I backed it up. I want to flash my new rom but I can't get into TWR to do so. I have no option when I restart phone, I tried power button with volume down like 10 times and I cant find TWR in apps thought I had to do it from there like old clockwork. I can see the backup folder on the sdcard . Driving me nuts do I need to reroot? I also tried putting the installer zip for TWR on my sdcard and doing it that way but I get a message saying no app avaiable for install. HELP please

if you want to stay on stock rom you might wanna install goo manager or cwm rom manager, they have the option to reboot into recovery as well
also there's a few apps on the playstore which you can use to boot into recovery as well, otherwise you'll be using the button combo there's no new option in the shutdown menu from samsung after rooting though, that only comes with custom roms or if you can grab a deodexed rom there's a mod that changes the menu for you

help!!! No OS

T-Mobile Galaxy 3 N900T
No OS. TWRP was installed and I thought I had ROM on SD card no. So now I have no OS. I tried the Volume up home on button but just says Galaxy Note 3 and that's yet.
I read some other posts but where do I get recovery image and how do I get to bootloader? via Odin?
How do I recover?
Where did the os go that you was running.you know it is power home and vol up at same time to get into recovery.
TWEAKED 2.0
If all else fails download the factory image from samobile and flash it in Odin. Will lose everything but phone will be working again.

If you have to ask questions like that it really would be worth reading up on how to do this stuff. Unsure if you can truly brick it but better to be safe than sorry.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
You can't really brick this way, although I'd consider it a soft brick. No os is simply that, no os. Uninstall your pc os and everything is still there, all your data is fine (given you keep your os and data separate. I.e partitions, which is android.)
Flash an os and you're fine

CWM nor TWRP will install
I succeeded in getting back to stock. I put the TWRP & CWM installed via Odin (Odin passed) but when I 3 button turn on it boots to the screen that says up volume to install OS and I go into Odin screen.
What gives?

For realizing I'm a moron! Somehow I missed the Vol up part! LOL
Seeing as how I haven't flashed a recovery, I've no reason to attempt recovery. Thought it was still Vol - and power like the s3.
No need to feel like a moron. If anybody should it's me lol

[Q] Going back to factory, memory wipe issue

So I am using LGNPST to flash my phone back to stock and have like it was out of the box. I am currently on ZVB with no root or unlocked bootloader. I really want to wipe everything clean so I tried to go into the main menu by holding VOL Down and Power. I'm supposed to press enter on the option to wipe which I'm assuming is the power button but nothing happens. I'm honestly not sure what to do. Is there any other way to wipe my internals clean?
Use the LG flash tool, does exactly that. Can be a pain in the ass to set up though. It takes the phone all the way to where is not even activated. Just look around the forums, think engine95 has a link to the thread that has it in one of his guides

In stock recovery, the capacitive menu key is the select, not the usual power button. So the far right key.

Didn't see that coming, that was my problem assuming the power button was supposed to be select. Thank you!
