Anyone ever had our know why there would be a problem with charging for example I can charge my phone if its on but not when it's off or when the battery is completely dead. I believe it's the charging module went bad but was just wondering if anyone has had that particular problem before.

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this or hard about it happening and can tell me why it's doing it and/or how to fix this issue. basically when my phone is turned off and charging if i try to power it on ill feel a quick vibrate and then instead of turning on it just displays the battery charging icon again. it will do that every time until i physically unplug the charger from the phone and then when i press the power button it starts turning on as it normally should.after that i can either plug the charger back in and let it continue to charge or i can just leave it unplugged. if anyone has any info on this irritating issue it would be a great help . thanks

Are you using a custom rom? I think this was an issue with one of em (freegs3 maybe) and the dev hadn't been able to fix it yet. Its been a bit though so I could be wrong on that one.
If you are on a custom rom, search that thread or ask there as well and youll prob get a quicker/better response.

I've had this happen a few times before. I am running stock rom with trinity kernel. it's pretty weird
sorry I forgot to mention what I was running. this should explain it best.

Yup. FreeGS3. I saw a few people mention this a while back. Dev knows about it and said he will look into it. Haven't seen much about this since but I could have easily overlooked it. Search through that thread for any other info.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and signed up to see if anyone could shed some light on an issue I'm having with my rogers samsung Galaxy s3 white 16gb i747m.
I contacted samsung because the device is only several months old and they want to send it for analysis. But I'd like to see if anyone here is familiar with the issue.
Anyway on certain occasions when the phone is left u plugged at night and fully charged it will be depleted to 1% in the morning.
When I checked the battery information it shows the Wifi and wake are on continuously through the night. I don't have any apps like Facebook or anything major running in the background. I took a screen shot of the battery screen when it happened once.
When I explained it to Samsung they told me to turn off all my processes before going to sleep using task manager.
Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Hello, I have a weird issue going on with my s3. My phone discharges like crazy when my data is on, and by that I mean it even discharged when connected to a charger. Also the phone only charges when connected to usb, and does not charge when connected to wall charger, even tho it shows the phone is charging but the battery percentage stays static. I have tried changing batteries, chargers everything. I also changed roms, formatted the whole thing, reinstalled and still the issue remains. Is there anything I can do? Please help.
Thank you.

Seems like you have something running in the background when you data is enabled. Perhaps a app using GPS and data.
I'd download BBS (BetterBatteryStats) to narrow down the issue. Also, when you go under settings->battery, anything suspiciously high?
I have looked at battery usage abs android system is always usually high. Here is the screenshot.

Download BBS (you can find it on xda). Charge your battery to full and post the results once your battery is down to like 50-60%.
Android system can be a lot of things, seems you have awful signal though. That could be it, have you tried flashing another modem?
Actually I'm not on my hometown, this the signal is bad...otherwise usually u have good signal. Anyway I'll install bbs and get back with more data. Thanks for replies.

Here are the better battery stats screenshots, a process called "AudioOut_2" is keeping the phone awake. I don't know what this process is or what it does. Can anybody help me to get rid of this issue? Thank you.

Do you have touch keys (tone) on? If so, turn that off.
Anything that makes your phone make sound from the rear speaker triggers AudioOut_2.
Ok I will try disabling touch sounds...but I have always had touch sounds on abd never had any issue, I dnt know what changed suddenly.
Thank you tho.

Has anyone experienced tremendous battery drain while using Skype video? I'm talking like going from 40%-0 in 1 hour of skype. It happen again , fropping from 75%-4% and I tried rebooting. After reboot,it showed 45% instead of 4. Kinda weird. I wonder if resetting Weill fix the issue

Read post 32....same experience as you but different reasons, I reckon it's the motherboard as some people had samsung replace them to fix the issues.

My phone seems to shutdown automatically intermittently when I put it to charge on AC power. I can't tell if it does that when it reaches 100% or before that as this usually happens when I put it to charge before going to bed.
Worries me as I use it as an alarm clock sometimes and it doesn't ring.
Thanks

doesn't happen for me. Might be a defect, how old is the device?
It does that since I bought it but not sure if it is hw or sw at the moment.

you might ask for a replacement right away, it shouldn't be like that
Do a factory reset and dont install any apps . Just use it stock and check if issue persists .
In case it does,, use your warrranty

Contact and get charger replaced ? It usually has a 6 month warranty if you have isolated the issue to be with the wall charger .
