I have this simple question: is it possible to get GT-I9195 rooted without having to replace stock recovery?

And if it's not:
can anyone provide any additional info why exactly? I mean something in a way of explanation from someone who understands the process of coming up with a way to get an android phone rooted..
do you guys think that this will last, or is the fact, that there's no easy way of doing this (as with for example sgs2) now, quite normal for a phone that's on the market for a relatively short time? Don't we (or rather those clever guys who know how to meddle with Android's insides) have this figured out - since Android is here already for quite some time - yet? I'm just really curious.

I have seriously tried about 15 different ROMs for my tilt2 and I am about to get rid of it because I can't find a good ROM that has everything I need... So, here is what I need...
Youtube working
Link contacts to facebook
Contact information to save when I put it in
Location service
Ability to get hotmail e-mail on the phone
I think that is it...
Are there any ROM's that work like that?? So far everything I have tried is missing at least one of those capabilities :/ I'm getting very disappointed...
Did you not try the phone out or even read what programs work with it before you bought it?
I find it hard to believe that your phone cannot do what you are suggesting it can't do.
I could do all of that (except the location service) with the stock AT&T rom... However, that ROM was extremely slow and aggravating as well...
I also have an HTC Pure - I found a perfect ROM for that phone that does everything I need it to do...
I just can't find a ROM here for the T2 that does everything I need...
I'm not an idiot, I know what this phone is capable of and if I can't find it in a new ROM here that is better than the stock ROM I will get rid of the phone.

Hey DillyBar, I have to agree with glcK23 on this one. I don’t think he means to be making any assumptions about your intelligence. All the stable ROMs can do the things you need (which are really basic).
When I say “stable” I mean I’m excluding WinMo 6.5.1 ROMs and those with Manila 2.5. There are known issues with those and you either have to live with them or simply don’t use them.

I've been scrooching xda forums throroughly, and there is very little discussion about the multimedia dock. (Which is going to be awesome, when someone here gets Ubuntu fully functional on the phone!)
Anyways, here is my problem. I am currently running ProBam 4.22, and it has no idea what to do when I connect it to the multimedia dock. Nothing happens, no HDMI output, no keyboard or mouse support.
The thing is, I don't even know if any custom roms actually support the bloody thing.
Is there any application, tweak or similiar that could be installed/flashed so that the multimedia dock would be supported?
I got so frustrated that I even tried flashing the stock rom back. Which didn't work out. Ubuntu on my computer, can't find proper tar.gz stock version to be used with Heimdall. (The thing keeps complaining something about Heimdall packages shouldn't include any links or directiories... I packed it myself and put none of that stuff there, what gives?) So, not going back to Stock, unless I install Windows. Which I hate.
Any idea on the matter?

I intend to buy a Smart Dock to use with the S4. I use the PAC-man ROM.

Hello guys, I recently got my phone (D855) and I'd like to know a couple of stuff so I have gathered some questions that I have , so if anyone is willing to help I would be grateful. I come from a horrible experience with a Galaxy A7, good phone terrible XDA support but w.e, I know a couple of stuff but bare with me. And no hate pls .
1st)What should I know of , before rooting and installing TWRP. Like what button combinations are there . What software/Method should I use?
2nd) What risks are there? I mean I've been to situations like soft-bricking and stuff , but how do I overcome them? I mean like reflashing and troubleshooting in general.
3rd)I've used custom roms in the past, and my favourite by far was Resurrection and CM. I am willing to try new stuff but I need to know whether classic stock LG functions do exist on the Custom Roms like Double Tap to Wake/Sleep , 4k and Slow-mo recording, Knock code, LED Notifications , Quick Remote etc.
4th) If I want to go back to stock, will my warranty still be working? I am asking cause Samsung used a system that recorded any 3rd-party software changed and triggered a flag so that it shows that warranty was not viable anymore.
