I am having weird problem on my Tmo s4 , my phone restarts when i get message in between calls. This is not related to ROM for sure. will changing Karnel will help?
anybody has same issue?
Mine device is replacement device from insurance, is it defective ?

What rom are you using? it is related.
Its wicked. Happened in old version and new version too. Been long using that ROM on previous device too so I am sure its not becoz of RoM.

Definitely NOT ROM related. I'm on Wicked V6 with no such problems.

Have you tried stock or other ROMs? I did change out my messaging app however so maybe that's why I don't have the problem.

Trying to look for a solution myself..
I was wondering the same because I installed CM 10.1 and I still have the issue. Just wondering if it's my hardware and should try to return/exchange it.
No its not Ur hardware.. go and flash wanamlite from the i9505 forum and flash the tmo faux kernel latest one and u will see smearing gone!

I'm currently running the note s4 rom. My phone will randomly lock up and get terribly laggy. I was on the newest stock ota and decided to flash the note s4 rom. The phone still acted like this on the stock rom also. I've still got lag and freezing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't you think this belongs in your roms thread. Rather than in question forum. Go over there and talk about your problems WITH THE ROM YOU'RE USING.

If you read his post he says it happens on stock as well. So before Flaming someone maybe at least know what's going on.
Op, is there something that makes it happen? Specific apps, something like that?

Try to do a clean wipe and clean install again. It might help with it being laggy. I usually do a full wipe and clean install every 2 months, even when using the same rom, That's just me.

Ive tried odining back to complete stock and wiping everything and then flashing the rom. It seems to do it at random. A reboot seems to fix the issue for a few hours. It's only done it once or twice so far today.

No it seems to do it at complete random. I normally dont keep that many apps open at one time on my phone.

Well try another kernel, see if that helps. Maybe your phone doesn't like stock kernel.

After I flashed a 4.3 rom I cannot use the phone function since the rom does not see the sim card. Do I need to change the modem? If I do which modem will work? Thanks.
There are a couple of threads saying the apn is wrong. Maybe your problem is something similar

I change the radio to DDMG1 and the phone function works now.
I just checked my phone for storage and realised that 21gb was photos and videos but my phone is the 16gb model. I also have have about 150 photos in my phone but no videos... Is this just a glitch? Or is it something more serious?

Have u tried restarting your phone? If u did, are u using stock ROM? If yes, then it should be a software problem. If no, flash another ROM and see If the problem persists.

I restarted it many times but it is still there. I am using Stock rom (4.1.2) but with RedPill kernel. It doesn't bug me but I want to know if there is a way to get rid of it.

Did you try to unmount sd card then re mount it? If that doesn't work I'd say you should post this in their thread

Same here.. Clean flash on 12/09 nightly and PAgapps.. Very smooth so far. Will use it as my DD tomorrow at work and see how it goes

Well, so far the basics I use as well as the apps and games are working fine.. Also Triangle Away works with CM11.

Yes.. Unfortunately there is NO post other than this one.. If you go to the CM website depository and go to d2tmo you WILL see it.. I was on the 12/09 nightly and last night "dirty flashed" to the 12/12 and everything is great for ME!.. I used internet, SMS, calling on a daily basis.. Yes this is GENERAL usage but that's MY experience.. And its been FLAWLESS.. Let's keep this thread alive since a LOT of ppl and devs have moved onto another device.. I say that because I gave my wife my old S2 and there seems to be MORE support from devs there than here.. She's on a good 4.3 ROM and has a option for 4.4 (I haven't flashed cuz 4.3 works so well for a older device).. I love my s3 and when my wife gets the new Note3 I'm keeping the s2 cuz its a underrated device just like the HTC Leo was/is..

Working with UEMJC? (I have heard some ROMs can brick it )
Edit: Found that UEMJC is good for anything over 4.3. Actually flashing CM11 nightly today.
Just installed. Been using for about 4 hours and really haven't found any bugs yet.

Don't take me for an expert, but the CM website says to refer to d2tmo, so I believe it will work.
Battery life looks alright over here as well.
We do, however, need to get WiFi calling on this so that those who rely on it (not me, but others) can update to this.
