My big problem, that you can see it on image, is always after I have my note 8 some minutes with screen off. I push power button and it apears something image. After some minutes, or if I shake it a little, or if I touch somewhere on screen (not always), or aleaotory, it becomes in good image, and, it doesn't repeat problem until I close screen and wait some minutes again. One intend to found the origen of problem: software or hardware, I have rebooted note 8 quickly while problem is active, but it resets showing problem from initial splash of note 8 starting process... anybody with same problem?

Looks like a hardware issue. Better get the warranty replacement.

never seen another user complain about that one...that is definitely an issue id want fixed via warranty
did you try to do a hard reset? like brand new out of the box?
if it still persists then...then its def hardware
I've seen this before on other tablets and laptop LCD screens.
It's almost certainly a hardware problem. The display cable that connects the screen to the mainboard is either coming loose or nearly broken.
In your case, it looks like the cable or connector is being shifted when you shake it. When that happens, the pins on the cable that carry the vertical data lines are being disconnected, so you see the horizontal stripes on the screen.
Eventually, or through another shake or touch, the failing cable makes contact again and everything seems to work fine. Until the next time it happens.
This problem is only going to get worse and more frequent over time. It's definitely a warranty issue.

Hello all,
I woke up this morning and noticed while trying to send a picture using whatsapp to a friend that i could not press the attach button. I thought it was an app problem but then realised it was that part of my touch screen is not registering.
I used the Touch Test app to see exactly what was not working and i have taken a screen shot. The area inside my drawn line is roughly the part not registering.
If i swipe over the part really fast in a few directions it will pick up but in general if im pressing and swiping average/ slow / fast it will not register.
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
I currently am running 2.3.3 Stock + rooted
And I have tried a reboot and uninstalled apps that i have recently installed/updated

no one can help u. either live with it or replace yr touch screen (digitizer) which is costly.
Do you have a screen printing protector?
I had a portion around the "a" on standard keyboard stop working and the screen clicked when I depressed in that area.
Got a new case and different screen protector no clicking and if the "a" doesn't work I blame my fingers and screen protector.

Just had the area around my "o" stop working. Pressed hard got hold responses the pop up for other numbers accents and then about five minutes later went away.
Sometimes it could be days other times minutes seemed to me every word I typed had an "o" in it

I've been experiencing a similar issue, but it pretty much affects my whole screen. Noticeably while I'm typing, I will not be able to click random letters no matter how many times I try. It randomly will start working again after a minute or so, but the affected sections of my screen always change.
It's usually less noticeable while running a Sense Rom, but right now I'm running LeeDroid 5.1.1 and I couldn't use the Spacebar. Is there a program that I can use to see the sections of my screen that respond and don't respond to touch?
did that happen while charging?
i found problem alike once, while i was using wasted/wrong charger - phone was reacting to touch rapidly and irregularily or was not reacting at all.

I don't know about the OP, but with me it happens whether I'm charging or not.
similar problem
Hello.
I am having a similar problem. When I´m texting some letters randomly stop working. I´ve noticed that the letters that fail the most are "a", "o", "n", "s" and "e", but sometimes I´ve had this with spacebar and backspace. I try several times and sometimes it just works after the fifth touch, but in other cases the only way to solve it is to lock/unlock the phone.
Please let me know what can I do to solve this.
Hi there,
My phone is semi-bricked, that is, when I boot, after the Sony Ericsson logo there's nothing except a gray-black screen
(like this one:

What I've done before:
Flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1595058
I was using this rom for about 3 weeks and everything was fine. Two days ago while playing Plok! on Snesoid the phone froze(the gray-black screen popped up). I rebooted(had to take out my battery) and everything was fine. Yesterday while playing "Gravity Defied" the phone froze again. I rebooted again but now I get this gray-black screen right after the SE logo. Recovery doesn't work. I tried to flash the rom from the above link again but it gave nothing. I flashed 4.0.2.A.0.62 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1589399 and the same problem still occurs.
Is there any way to repair it on my own or do I have to go to a service center?
update: I kept the phone on with this gray-black screen and after about 30 minutes the screen changed to normal Android "desktop". Any idea what's going on?
update2: Maybe that's important -> when the previous 2 freezes occurred I had the PS buttons slide extended. I have played some games in the meantime with the phone slide closed and everything was fine.
Update3: It's definitely not a software problem. If the slide is closed everything is fine. After I extend the slide, the screen stops to refresh(the touch screen works, I can pick up calls etc. when the screen is gray-black). When I close it back it takes some time for the screen to work again. My guess is that's a problem with the ribbon cord but I've no idea what can I do with it...any suggestions?
try flash to original firmware
Its the flex cable. Its what connects your display to the gpu.

Warranty is void when you open the bootloader.
I've been using my One X for several weeks now (I think the hboot date is around early June so it's not one of the early batches) and so far didn't have any problem except for the following:
Twice, first a few weeks ago and the second time last night I saw some "artifacts". I'm not quite sure but I think different parts of the screen were affected each time. What happens is that everything is shown how it's supposed to be except for a 30%-40% area which looks a little like a computer screen right after a software/driver crash can look like. Without doing anything, it disappeared each time after less than a second.
I wasn't able to take a screenshot but the following photo shows how it roughly looked like. In my case, there were only lines and cubes in black, white and bright green instead of the more "fuzzy" parts shown in the photo.

Is this a driver issue? A lose connection? A display fault? I was close to unlocking my phone but with this having happened twice so far I wonder whether I should wait a little longer...
PS: It's probably unrelated, but like a minute later I encountered some "keypad ghosting" via swiftkey, i.e. I was pressing some keys on the keyboard and it was inserting several different ones each time. I do suppose that it's a software glitch, though, as I tried the stock keyboard another minute later and this worked fine.
If you can still swap your device with your retailer I would do that, just to be on the save side...
did u update to latest already?
if yes,
was it there before u updated..??
it doesn't look like a hardware issue

No, everything was where it was supposed to be and the artifacts faded away after probably less than a second.
I still have the latest stock Rom, haven't updated yet. I do think it's been more of a software glitch but I couldn't find information on here or anywhere else which would state a similar problem. Which is good?

Hello,
My N7100's a little too sensitive to rotation on the right. This just started happening 2 days ago, out of the blue. For the left side, I have to rotate my phone properly into landscape mode but to the right, even if it is tilted 1/8th of an inch e.g. while picking phone up, switching hands or left handed operation, it will suddenly rotate to landscape.
I have tried calibrating the gyroscope some 10 times but to no avail.
Any solution to this?
Thanks!
SOLVED: Read post #8
No one?
It's a bug in samsung touchwiz (4.1.2)..I have it too only solution I got was to use ultimate rotation control it will help or else if you can wait for samsung to fix it in 4.2.2
Here's the app link I hope it helps

@mufaddalezzi Thank you for your reply. However, my problem has not been solved by the app since it doesnt adjust the sensor.
My problem:
Phone thinks its tilted to the right while it is only 5-6 degrees to the right. I cant play games that require motion sensing such as Temple run because the character is running to the right with the phone being perfectly straight.
XDA, i need your help!
P.s: i tried restoring to an older nandroid backup from TWRP but to no avail
Tried. Calibration from the service menu at *#0*# under Sensors and again, no help. This wathe post that fixedit for someone else

Maybe it's a hardware failure(accelerometer or gyroscope)..that means you might need to change/replace it

Sure? I am not covered by warranty and would hate to sell my phone the gyro works fine its just that the calibration of it is wrong, the phone thinks it is tilted slightly to the right
I figured it out. For anyone else with this problem:
1) Boot phone into safe mode (Turn phone off and turn it back on. As soon as animation starts press and hold volume down button - It should say SAFE MODE in the lower left corner of the screen when turned on)
2) Reboot phone
Voila!
Mystery solved. Case closed.
Hi,
Stock Android - Not Rooted 5.1.1
I am attaching two images here. I am pretty sure it's not a hardware problem since my other sensors are working so I would like to figure out which apps are blocking these sensors and how to fix.
A quick reboot is a temporary fix.

Pretty sure that this is a hardware issue. Two of the most common issue of this tablet is auto-rotate and touch screen. I experienced the auto-rotate issue a week or two ago wherein placing the tablet on a flat surface face down and pushing the "N" and "S" letters at the back and doing a reboot temporarily fixed the auto-rotate issue. Which if I may say only worked for a few hours.
It came to a point that the reboot and pushing the letters no longer worked. This is the time where I searched and found a hardware workaround: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLCAeBe2hVU this is if you're willing and have the guts to open up your tablet. It seems that the wires connecting the accelerometer/gyroscope and touchscreen "loosens" over time. I've applied the fix a week ago and no longer experience the auto-rotate issue.
Obviously It's still best to send your tablet for repairs if you still have warranty.

I had already applied that fix so was ambient sensor working. Earlier none of the sensors use to work. But now since removing my magnetic case it seems to work fine for today. Will see how long does it last!

Actually disabling automatic brightness and removing magnetic cover has seemed to solve the issue. I am using Velis Auto Brightness and since then the auto rotate has never ever stopped.
