Total wet behind the ears, noob first post.:silly:
I was unable to find the answer on the forums so I thought I would type one up. On my first gen Nexus 7, running a CM nightly it seems the user is unable to eliminate (only replace) the clock widget on the lock screen for a cleaner look. The way I found around this is to download the UCCW app by VasuDev, a free app that enables you to custom make widgets, then just create a completely transparent one (set the alpha setting to "0") and have that as the lock screen widget.
Hope this helps.

All,
First, I hope I'm posting in the correct forum here, if not please feel free to move where appropriate.
I'm running open home and have an issue with skins and the default analog clock widget. The problem is that once I switch to the open home big analog clock and switch back to the regular analog clock widget that it is no longer skinned with the currently enabled skin, it just has the default android skin and nothing I do will cause it to skin the regular clock widget with the currently enabled skin.
It seems that only after you install open home will it skin the regular analog clock widget but once you change it to big clock and back again it will never reskin it.
Any open home users know how to fix this?

I assume you have tried to reapply the skin? I haven't seen that happen. I test all my themes before I upload them on the market and I bounce between the 2 clocks I haven't had that happen. I have like 140+ themes that I've done it on.
Update: I just took screens of both clock on the screens at the same time
Hey Everyone.
I Have disabled my animation background with a reg edit, but I am trying to get rid of the animation on the clock, or remove it all together.
Why?
Well I am using Energy Rom (gtx) and I noticed that it's not the background animation that is lagging things, it's the clock animation.
If i click on another tab like messages, then use the slider its nice and smooth, if you tap home then use it, its laggy.
If you slide the clock out of your home view, then use the slider it will be smooth.
I have looked all over...only found wallpaper/weather animation
any direction is appreciated (if it's possible)
thanks
I don't know for the stock Sense home tab, but you can disable it in co0kie's home tab (I'm using version 1.8.0, don't know about the older versions), there are two registry keys under
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila
called
Co0kie.Clock.DisableoubleFlip and Co0kie.Clock.DisableMinuteFlip. I set both value to 1, restart Sense, and no more annoying clock animation (I always hated it when it showed 23h58, then 23h59, then 00h59 and finally 00h00...)
Was running DC3.5. Flashed CM6.0 and still having the same behavior...
When unlocking the screen, i see a slight trace of an animated/live weather. Sort of like a sun/cloud. I can only see it vaguely though and I cant figure out what app its coming from.
Any ideas?
I'm running Beautiful Widget but the image I am seeing is like a live weather image of the sun and cloud parting ways.
Im stumped
I'm personally not using that widget but the widget I am using (Weather & Clock) has an addon with settings that animate upon unlock.
See attachment.
If you can't find it in running apps or something perhaps a complete wipe and reflash?

I owe you a beer!
I also have that widget but dont really use it as I prefer Beautiful Widgets but for some reason, not being enabled (the widget) those settings were still active. Unchecked that setting and all is well!
Thanks again!
Hi Guys,
Just started using Sense 4.0. Stupid question... much like the previous versions of Sense, the weather animations (wipers when raining, clouds across the screen, and etc...) that used to show up on the screen when the phone was unlocked; has Sense 4 gotten rid of these animations?
I mean, I see the weather animations in the clock/weather app, the Weather lock screen, but not the animations that used to show up on the home screen, after the phone was unlocked... Is that gone in Sense 4? Can someone confirm? Thank you.
The full screen animations are selected when you add a weather widget, such as the default clock. Just remove the clock, and add it again, it'll give you the option
No it hasn't gone from sense 4.0, you just need to remove the clock widget and then add it to the home screen again and it will give you the option to enable full screen weather animations. Hope this helps.
Edit: looks like edge3uk just beat me to it.
Hi
Yes you can get weather animations, you have a couple of choices:
On the Lock Screen
Go to Settings - Personalise - Lock Screen and select Weather. Now whenever you turn your phone on you get a weather animation for your location.
As a wallpaper
Go to Settings - Personalise - Wallpaper - Live Wallpapers and select the Weather
Note that these options, especially the live Wallpaper will be using a little bit more battery power then viewing a static wallpaper image, of course that only impacts you if the phone spents a lot of time on with the wallpaper on show.
Another option, generally more accurate, in real 3D, is to look out of a window or go outside Yes I too have animated weather, it just looks cool lol.
Edit: and another way is to use the widget as already posted, so that makes 3 so far.
Regards
Phil
It is off by default. Just long press the clock&weather widget and push it to edit, click your current location, and tick show full screen animation.
Guys,
thank you for ALL your wonderful replies! Indeed, the animations work for me now, BUT, I cannot figure out what "triggers" them on the home screen... they just happened randomly, I can't deliberately kick em off...
For example in earlier Sense versions, the way to kick it off was, EVERY time you unlocked the phone, and the home screen had the Weather clock, the animations would go....
That doesn't happen in Sense 4, can someone confirm this or tell me what I am missing?
Thanks again!
well for me they only appear after unlock.

Please help......
I'm new to 4.3, and I'm using an S3 (Mobilicity). Rooted, stock rom and recovery. I'd like to know if it's possible to replace the clock widget from the lockscreen entirely. I'm caught between the xposed framework and Puzzle and Dragons, the game just won't cooperate with the framework (crashes upon opening). So, I've pretty much given up on trying to get secure widgets and everything since PaD won't run with them, and instead would just like to replace that default clock widget with something like DashClock.
If there is a way to do this, it would be much appreciated if you could share. I've looked all over and couldn't find anything on this.
EDIT: Alternately, if there was a way so that apps couldn't detect the xposed framework, or if there was another way to enable multiple widgets on a secured lockscreen, that would be great as well.
EDIT 2: Is there a way to bring back the 2-layer lock screen from 4.1? I can't fathom why they would completely leave that out, I love the swipe screen, it's got lots of space to show the wallpaper, and can also be used for other things (like the widgets >.>"), while you still have a second lock screen for the pattern lock.
