It comes with a screen protector on it. Also it comes with 2 in the box for the front and back.
For the front only. No back protector.
Does anyone know who is selling an oleophobic tempered glass screen protector yet? Bought one for my XZ and absolutely loved it.
I was surprised that only a front screen protector came in the box, I will be buying a Zagg HD screen protector when it comes out, always had the HD ones, easy to fit and great quality.

I have ordered one of these to give it a go as I always like the concept of screen protectors but the lack of feel on the touchscreen and the dust which creeps in bugs the hell out of me and it should arrive some time this week.
Will be leaving on the shatter protection and coating the back and front of my Z1 so after 24 hours I will be able to report back here (length of time it takes to fully harden)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007EZ3EM0/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If this can be used for 50 devices then it should pay for itself eventually with money saved from buying multiple screen protectors.

Yes, please let us know as I was looking at that. It seems a bit risky though as you have no idea really that it has worked (or not) until you get a gauge on it!

Dynaflow is now on and you really cannot tell it's even on (have I brought into some snake oil !! ) left the phone off for 24 hours and then turned it back on and gently buffed the screen and back afterwards.
Early days yet and will not be doing any kind of torture tests on my phone so if its still got a pristine screen after 6 months with normal use (even though I am incredibly careful with phones) I will be more likely start to believe this product works specially if I have any mishaps.
Really dubious right now and I am itching to put on a screen protector again as I can see that and know it works!

Here's a pack of 2 front and 1 back protectors from reputable brand Rearth. Reduced from £15 to £5. Seems like a bargain to me and I've ordered a pack for my new Z1.

Has anyone given the Muvit tempered glass screen protector a try? I'm tempted to get one since spigen doesn't have one yet.
http://www.mobilefun.com/40820-muvit-tempered-glass-screen-protector-for-sony-xperia-z1.htm
If you get one please review it here. I haven't gotten my z1 yet and I'm also interested in that protector of the same reason.
I also see to have problem finding glassprotectors with oleophobic coating. oleophobic is more than a must.
Hi guys!
Anyone know if the screen protector from Xperia Z will fit to Xperia Z1? I mean front and rear panel.

The rear certainly won't because the camera lens is in a different position. Not sure about the front.

Where did you buy this case?
As i have now tried 3 different screen protectors i can say this:
ZAGG/KINGFISH: both sold by car phone warehouse are no good.
Zagg is a flimsy piece of skin which once fitted is not even smooth. Your finger will not slide on the screen and it makes the view on the screen quite poor as well.
Kingfish is a Matt type screen. Its smooth but also covers the front camera and goes beyond the beveled edge of the phone making it easy to collect dust. Viewing is not very good and i suspect covering the sensors won't do any good either
Positive: Protex
Sold by phones4u and online. Cheap when compared with the above and easy to fit. (I always use droplets of water to fit as it eliminates dirt and little dust fibres to the minimum)
Easy to slide the finger on, does not cover the sensors or cameras.
Rock screen protector: similar to protex, a bit wider and same quality. Highly recommended to the point that i have cancelled the original protectors that Samsung will bring out later in the month.
Overall if you want something that will be good and not disrupt the feel and view, the 2 above ones are ideal. I'm sure there will be other more or less expensive but i won't be testing any new ones.

Are Protex and Rock wet or dry protectors? Do they stretch to the edges of the phone? Or are the edges exposed?
The eyes are slightly exposed about 2mm.
They are not soft protectors and that makes them very good. No glare or other issues. Zagg is a soft one and the most problematic one.
When you say wet or dry i suspect you mean needing to use spray water to apply. Both rock and protex do not need water to apply but using it makes it much easier to apply

Wet application screen protectors
I originally got a dry application screen protector (the ones with the sticky stuff) as an interim measure. After a few days it did start peeling up slightly on the edges as the screen is curved on the edges. I then ordered an XtremeGuard protector (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/23080181...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_3744wt_1396) which is a wet application one. It has been sooooo good. Since it is wet application it is alot more flexible and can hence handle the curved edges. Also the XtremeGuard protectors don't suffer from the 'lemon-peel' effect of other wet application screen protectors.
Not saying anything bad against other screen protectors, more just sharing my experience with some screen protectors.
Gear4 Case vs. Case-mate
Hi,
Your Gear4 case looks very nice and pricing is reasonable.
Do you have any experience with the Case-mate barely there cases and how it compares to your Gear4 case?
Thanks

I would spend the money on the spigen glas.t but according to this forum it has been discontinued:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929381
I didn't read the full thing, i just googled it. But i will say this, I dropped my iPad 3 face down(glass down) on concrete and it protected it. It fell about 4 feet and came out without any damage whatsoever.

I swear by ZAGG. If you watch the demo video then it should sell you too. Yes its a little more expensive than the 3 dollar scotch tape cover you can get at the grocery store, but you spent a lot of money on the phone with its sharp screen, I figure its worth it. I had the ZAGG cover on my Thunderbolt and it worked great. I liked it so much I have one on my GS3.
DBA Cases sells a screen protector called "Just Like Glass". I just bought one for me and my mom. I must say the feel is great, almost "like glass" and the screen doesn't diminish in quality one bit. It is a wet application. The sides on mine don't want to stick down all the way. The instructions said this would happen and after a few days it will stick. I've only had it applied a couple days so I'm still crossing my fingers. They are only $13.50. I would definitely recommend one. http://www.dbacases.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-screen-protectors.aspx
I highly suggest glasszone. No proximity problems, no response problems. 9H hardness, I've dropped it twice from waist height on concrete floor and it's not scratched, though I'm not 100% if the initial impact was with ground. The only thing I have against it is the (barely) visible layer of glitter on the edges, or what the manufacturer calls "pearl effect". I barely notice it, and it's only really visible under a few instances. You can find it on ebay
iMuse glass protector could be a good solution:

Do all the tempered glass protectors make the screen look odd, or are some better and more "HD" than others? I read the thread about the xgear one and it sounds like it distorts the screen.

Yes it definitely disturbs. That's why the sticker type protector is somehow a better choice, but if you have a sturdy case protector to begin with you don't need a screen protector, that gorilla glass will serve it purposes.

I ordered mine from Bestskinsever. Quality is like Zagg Invisible Shield for about 1/4 of the price.
I don't like the Zagg ones, its very clear when you're using them that you have a screen protector on. I have the DBA Just Like Glass mentioned above. I like it for the most part. The screen protector has gotten very scratched up but the screen is safe and sound. Worst bit about it is that the edges dont look properly adhered. They havent peeled up for me but they look like they arent stuck on as well as the rest of the protector

SPIGEN SGP Samsung Galaxy S3 Premium Glass Screen Protector White
Glass looks and feels great.
HOWEVER
Must be used with a raised home button and case on the edges.
Sensitivity was severely compromised.
You wouldn't notice on regular use, but as soon as you got typing. I became very frustrated. Ruined texting all together.
Even swype was some garbage.
40$ well wasted.

I've been using a Qmadix tempered tech armor and it does need a raised sticker and only comes with three. It works great though and I haven't lost any use. I bought mine in white from a sprint store and my only complaint is the dust that gets stuck on the glue like edges underneath. I can post pictures of the box and the glass screen protector if requested my camera just isn't connecting on the cm10.1 nightlie I have haha

I don't trust Gorilla glass at all, seen so many phones scratched that have it and it does nothing for impacts.
Has anyone found a good tempered glass screen protector that both covers the whole face of the phone but leaves the proximity sensor open? Or have you all found that having a glass protector over the proximity sensor did not affect it at all? I am all over Amazon comparing all kinds of protectors but haven't found "the one" yet.

Looking forward to it.
I just bought this one from amazon ASUS zenfone 2 ZE550ML / ZE551ML Glass Screen protector, VSTN ® Ultra-thin 9H Hardness High Quality HD clear Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector which will be delivered Thursday 5/21..
From the pic and reviews it looks to have the cutout for the proximity sensor & rounded edges.. There isn't a cutout for the front camera which it ok w/me since i don't take selfies and how can it really affect the camera anyhow..
There is a warning post on the zentalk forums saying you don't want a screen protector covering the proximity sensor since it can drop calls and such > [Display / Touch Panel] Screen protector may cause display error when answering the call
Just bought the phone this morning and got the ASUS official PET protector so it has something (plus they are cheap nuff), they should be delivered later today.. then I will swap it for the glass one when it comes in.
Not really a fan of TG. I think GG3 is enough for my zf2.. Got 1 phone for more than a year already.. No scratches w/ just Dragon Tail equipped.
I ordered this one...mainly because I wanted it here in time for the phone...
ASUS Zenfone 2 5.5 Inch Screen Protectors,APLUS(TM) Tempered Glass Screen Protectors 9h Hardness, 2.5d Rounded Edges, 0.33mm Thickness
Whether it turns out to be any good, we shall see. I just need something until it becomes clear which ones are good.
I have this one on mine:
http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V037LLC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Despite not covering the bottom I have found it to be very nice. No hole for the front camera was not an issue.
I ordered this from aliexpress.com. Unable to post link in this reply.
Explosion-proof-9H-Tempered-Glass-Film-for-Asus-Zenfone-2-ZE551ML-Anti-Shatter-Screen-Protector
Seller is zero enterprise limited.
Cut out for the sensor available. Will not cover the whole front though.
Unfortunately I can't fit it yet because I am still waiting for the Zf2 to reach me.
Material feels like standard TG protectors. And it reached me pretty fast (Singapore) - less than two weeks. Was expecting some 35 days lead time.

I’m getting a glass screen protector from amfilm. I had theirs on my old LG G3, and it was a pretty good glass screen protector. For this one, I’m expecting a similar experience. Should be arriving in the mail over the weekend. I’ll comment back next week with my thoughts.
I'm having a hard time finding any tempered glass that will ship to Canada & that isn't going to take a month from China. Any leads?
Best I've found is ebay item # 281601192776 (can't post links yet)
but that's still minimum 2 wks shipping for me. My phones here tmrw!
It might be worth the wait... it cost much lesser on eBay and aliexpress, mines arrived in 11 days.
I bought the Nillkin H9+ tempered glass, it feels very smooth, but kinda thick (still very comfy). The glass took forever to apply due of my buttery fingers [emoji16] ,I should've gone to the mall and pay those cell phone boutique guys to do it for me.
Here's a pic of it.

Faster shipping will cost much more than the item itself. And I suggest to get a couple if you are certain the item is the correct one and the price is right. Usually shipping cost the same whether single or up to a certain quantity.
I have had experience where the seller didn't pack it properly and it arrived broken. But they sent a replacement. Well the item costs only $3 but free shipping so I can expect a longer wait. Trade off..

It doesn't cover the bottom but it does have a cutout for the proximity sensor. I will keep looking for one that covers it all, though.
Is it really possible to cover all as in the whole front? In all the various sets that I have seen, the bottom part below the buttons appear to be slightly higher.

$45 for a case and screen protector? WTF!!!
Had my Rhinoshield case & screen proctector for about a week the case feels like quality.
The screen protectors are great it's my 3rd. I've never had broken screen not once on my Z3C. I unfortunately dropped that heaps of times no damage.
I can tell you it doesn't cover the curves of the screen just the flat but then I don't know if their is a SP made by anyone the also curves around screen sides.
I bought a PlayProof case and really really fine...
i also bought the bundle from rhinoshield and it looks great and feels like high quality. SP doesn't cover the round edges, but I'm ok with that
RhinoShield sent me a Playproof case which hasn't got a hole top of phone. But they accepted their mistake and will send a new one...
I have this one friday:

Received forest blue. Took a while.
The feel of the case is sublime.
Ever so slightly bulkier then the skinny orzly.
However this playproof proves for far better protection for sure.
And seriously feels complete and bonafide.
Also the tactile 3D buttons for the camera and volume rocker are defined and effective, possibly even easier to use than the naked device tbh.
Ergonomics adhere to the design and doesn't take to much away from the phones appealing asthetics.
Cutouts and finishing of the overall product is high grade.
Really like this case.
Worth the wait!

I bought the same one the day I got my XZ.
Sadly I had to remove this (rather expensive glass) after a week, because after cleaning my XZ with water I ended up having water underneath the tempered glass.
My brother placed it for me because I kinda have shaky hands lol so I don't dare to do it myself.
Not sure if he did something wrong in the applying process of this glass, but it fit perfectly and looked fine, too bad about the water underneath after a week.
I'm looking for something different and less expensive now lol. Going to visit some phone shops here in the city this afternoon.
The RhinoShield case + SP combo is something I might try out later too
Sent from my Sony Xperia XZ using XDA Labs
I've ordered the Rhinoshield Playproof case and tempered glass combi aswell.
I will probably get it next week.
Hope this glass protector will suit me.
I've tried Panzer Glass and Roxfit screen protectors but both didn't work well for me.
I hope the screenprotector from RhinoShield will be better.
Otherwise ill probably be forced to go back to Panzer Glass, since thats the only one i've tried that covered the whole screen.
Edit: Just came across this video from Orzly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzbMi2fhdes
This one seems very nice to me aswell and seems to fully cover the screen... so if the RhinoShield turns out to be dissapointing, Orzly will be next on my list to try
It looks like a nice product.
The fingerprint scanner and the notch opened for the power button have been very clever.
Has anyone had problems with the Playproof case, it looks like mine is separating at the corners. I've sent pictures off to Rhinoshield and am hoping they warranty it. I'll post up some pictures shortly.
Overall though it's been a good slim case, and has done its job.

My case is doing the same thing at all four corners, but I haven't contacted them about it.
---------- Post added at 09:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:17 PM ----------
I can also attest to the case being able to survive a 3+m drop, I managed to accidentally drop it from 4+m and not a thing wrong with the phone.
It also has the Rhinoshield screen protector as well but I've already had it replaced once it lifts to easily at the edges and corners.
I never did post pictures, but did contact Rhinoshield, I have a new case coming, I had to pay for shipping. The customer service is great!
Already on the hunt for a good screen protector. I have been looking at the
Olixar Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus Tempered Glass Screen Protector.
Any thoughts on this one?
Why would you put any sticker on the best screen on the market?
You will lost half of it I guess.

Better to sratchna protector and throw it out vs have a small sratch in the screen that you always have to look at.

Even I was searched a lot for the Note 10 screen protector. Then I found Gadgetshieldz providing screen protectors for Note 10 / 10+. They've claimed that their screen protector works with ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. I tried their screen protector it was good quality and no issues found so far.

Ill give you a hint and let you do the research. Worth the $$$.

I gave up with screen protectors on my note 9 and would rather pay £25 phone insurance excess than spoil the screens brilliance. Most are crap anyway and you soon burn £25 try a load.

until they start lifting and getting dirt along the sides. I managed to apply one properly, and it looked rough as with 3 months.

The phone comes with a protector pre-installed? or is it just the sticky film for packaging?

Actually now I do t see it. I thought I saw they were doing the same thing they did with the S10 and adding the screen protector preinstalled.

Yes, it has a protector like S10s. I think it's sufficient until owners get a tempered solution.

No it isn't, but (my S10+) protector has a decent oleophobic coating on it and has held up pretty well to date

Yeah i have to admit its pretty good.
No orange peel effect
Smooth finish and minimal fingerprints
Mine lasted 5 mos with no issues (sold the phone at that point)
If the the preinstalled note one is as good you would have to be nuts to remove it unless it lifts or has too many blemishes on it after prolonged use.
I tried so many when I first got my Note 8 all failed. I gave up been naked for nearly 2 years with only few minor scratches nothing that spoils the joy (well screen burn in but that another story:laugh
Classic Amazon reviews for the Whitestone before the Note 10 is even available!

Looks like that most of tempered glasses are not compatible with finger print reader...
I tried it at the store it scratches if you use the stylus

where can I find more info on this "pre installed" screen protector?

You can watch Flossy Carter rip it off of the phone in his unboxing. Looks great, but he tore it off lol.
I can't stand flossy carter, he's so daft!
