Hi, I want to buy a ZL but still hesitating. I want to know if this (18 toggle system UI from xperia Z would work for ZL)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2208237
Im planning to have the ZL on firmware 434. I don't like the 4.2.2 firmwares coz there's no flash light toggle on the status bar and I dont like the idea of the lockscreen having extra pages.
I hope to get response from the ZL people. Thanks!
no answers?
I just use NovaLauncher instead, together with the Power Toggles app.

No Point. Instead of toggles, use small apps for torch. which pretty good. And ZL amazing phone with a refreshing UI. not many mods as Z and there are quite a few bug in the phone like Mic issue, IR blaster reading issue, Camera dead pixel issue, though not everyone face that, i am facing mic and IR blaster issues. Better to know how your local service center is before buying this beast

I myself hate having to navigate through my screen and start the app for this. For this reason, I wish Pressy would hurry up: I'd love to have a dedicated button for lots of shortcuts, functioning from the lockscreen even!

Thanks for the info guys. I have another question if I use the power toggle will that override the stock toggles on the notification of ZL?
I don't think it can, you'd probably require an alternative ROM for that. Unfortunately, as I kinda dislike having multiple toggle rows on there.

wile playing with my Gnex phone the following idea poped into my head;
would it not be handy to have the time displayed in the ICS navigation bar, replacing the homekey grafics but not the function...
then you can keep track of time while playing games of running any other fullscreen application where the notificationbar is hidden.
what do you guys think?
I like it

Funny, I just had the same thought and saw this thread.
I would love to see the clock be displayed in the nav bar and persistently. I think it would look sick.

good ideas but i need power menu soft key can use soft key from power menu
>.> Ummm bump? I like this idea too. perhaps not limit it to time but serve as a ticker?
I.e, normally it shows time, but it will show notification icons somewhere and a swipe will reveal the notification centre?
EDIT: On the top of my mind... we probably could get a couple of apps/mods to get something similar:
* There are full screen mods
* GMD gesturecontrol works on Gnex last time I tried.I suppose you can assign swipes and gestures to mimic the navbar buttons
* Only thing I don't really get is how we'd get a clock or notification area to show permanently at the bottom. Perhaps there are some apps that do this, Notifierpro plus does notification.. not time though.
* Paranoid android tablet UI, hide/remove the nav bar buttons, and try to move the notification area to the centre. Something like that...
There is a ROM that has all the features you are looking for:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729942
However the base is CM9. I hope it will be upgraded to JB soon. I use it since a month and I prefer it over any other ROM.

I have cm10 with expanded desktop but I'm wondering if anyone has done a mod where a gesture will toggle the visibility of the soft keys. It's exactly what I, along with a ton of other people, are looking for. Hell, I'll pay someone to do it for us!!

What I think would be nice is if we could just get rid of the navbar and replace it with a gesture from the bottom edge to reveal the ring in my screenshot, except the nav controls will be on that ring
AFAIK GMD gesture control supports this. Not quite sure. Just try the lite version first.

Few options are out there already.
GMD - You can set various swipes such as 45* up/left for back, up for home, etc, activated at the bottom.
App that I forget the name of but enables pie control in any app. You can set multiple layers as well as an inner and outer pie ring, but this can get a bit clustered. Realistically you can probably set all of your most used apps into the pie on various layers though and get rid of every shortcut.
Latest PA has a more feature rich but less customized pie. Battery bar, time, notifications, access notification panel, per-app color of pie, and more. However, unlike the app above you cannot add additional items into the pie, at least not yet.

LMT with PIE Control is IMHO the Name of the app. In the last version it includes also the swipe from the bottom like in Para...Rom (don't know the name of the rom right now). But it's not the same. A simple swipe from the bottom and it should show the orig. softkeys. That would be soooooo cool! I would never ever switch back and set the expanded desktop active
I have GMD installed and I was not able to hide only the soft keys.
The only option I found hides the soft keys AND the notification bar on the top of the phone, so valuable info like battery, signal strength etc are also hidden.
Any ideas to hide only the soft keys?

Not totally gesture but u must take a look at paranoid android PIE control. It's still in beta but it has a lot of potential.
I think u would like it.... Here are some examples...

Exactly what I was looking for
But how stable is paranoid android compared to CM10
My main issue is I haven't found a good way of hiding the softkeys. GMD closes the whole SystemUI so lose the top bar and app switcher, and the Fullscreen Toggle that a lot of people use removes the in-app menu button which is not ideal as I don't really want to have a gesture just to access the basic menu.
Is there a good way of doing this that I've missed?

I'm running it from day 1 (got my N4 since half December) and it's perfectly stable. I always wait a little while before updating and follow the tread to be sure there are no great bugs. If everything's ok then I'll update to a newer version. The PIE option is really Beta so there will be some bugs.
I think u just must try it, paranoid android is really a original and renewing ROM. Not just because the pie, but also the hybrid, per app color and dpi option.
It's just as stable, if not more stable then cm10.1 The rom is based on AOSP so should be as stable as the original one.

Is it possible to install/use notification flip settings introduced in Android 4.2 on the Xperia M?
I've searched the internets but couldn't find any answer.
I tried using Gravity Box but even though I use the Master Switch and
reboot there are still no flip settings available.
I've also tried the Xperia Flip Settings module but still nothing happened after reboot.
So,anyone has an idea on how to do this?
One of the reasons I updated to the latest Jelly Bean 4.3
was this and I m really disappointed.

I have Xperia M Dual.
I use Xperia Filp Settings + Gravity box to get AOSP Tiles. It works perfectly for me.
XFS Enables the tiles while GB Adds them.
Which ROM?
EDIT
I did manage to get it to work somehow by disabling it,rebooting, enabling it and rebooting again.
The thing is that Viber's persistent notification allows me to use the flip settings window only by quick expanding it from the far right corner of the status bar and of course I cannot flip between the default notificationsystem window and the one with the tiles.I suspect this is missing by design though...

The quick setting tiles will not be shown on the default notification panel.
You have 4 different options to open it.
1. Extreme right or left shortcut as u did.
2. Two finger swipe from status bar.
3. Default setup so that if theres no notification then the quick settings tiles will be vissible when u swipe down(will not work for you as you have viber's ongoing notification)
4. Pull down the notification panel n then swipe the bottom bar from left to right or vice versa.
I hope this much information will be helpful to you.

You can use the notifier pro app.It works very well. ?
I tried many notifier apps.. actually the "notifier pro app" suggested by rajat doesn't use the down slide notification panel..
The others I tried that should do it, don't work on Nokia X except 2:
-Super Status Bar... but it lock and crash the phone (I had to remove battery to unlock the phone)
-Inoty, it works PERFECTLY. With the down slide you will se a panel with two tabs, the first contains the calendar and other things. Going right you will se the second tab with all the notifications. If you go in the notifications tab and slide up the panel, everytime you slide it down again you will see directly the notifications tab (and not the calendar tab). Inoty panel will appear instead of normal Nokia X status panel, in Inoty panel there aren't the switches for wifi, bluetooth etc.. but it's sufficient to slide down again from the top of the screen to switch to the normal Nokia X status panel where you can find the missing buttons.
can bring gesture navigation bar from moto Z3 , Z3 Play to moto Z2 Force ??
It's already build in. Go to moto settings app and switch on gestures for fingerprint sensor. Then you can navigate with this. I use this already for weeks and love it. Best is that the visible area of the screen is much bigger and it feels great. I have tested android Pie for weeks ago and there it's not so good as on moto stock roms with oreo. I love oreo, hope Pie will never come. But ok, it must come. But we can live with that, right? Hope for a bug free android 9.0.1 edition. Oreo is easy to perfect
Edit: ok, sry, you mean the new moto navigation from Z3 edition series? That's not in Z2. Maybe there is a way to get it working? We will see
You are talking about the Pill geature navigation i got it. The thing is it is the feature of android 8.1 SystemUI on Moto Z3. Moto Actions is used to enable it. If someone mods the Moto Action and enable the button to trigger pill it wouldn't be of any use as we need Android 8.1 SystemUI. It could only be possible if we root ,mod both SystemUI and MotoActions but we have the Fingerprint Navigation , its preety close to it

Z2 Force, very fast and very good. I use the fingerprint touch to navigate. Then you have a modern visible screen area and no burn ins at the bottom. And scratches, I haven't not one after very many month. So no additional screen protector needed. The newer Z2 Force seems not have this issue with the scratchable screen. Best phone I have ever had.

anyone facing gesture navigation "back" function, sometimes is back to home screen instead "back"? thanks
There is an app called "X Home Bar" and "X Home Bar Pro" (and other similar apps) that will give you a white bar along the bottom that will allow you to swipe left, right, and center up to navigate. These options that you can customize to your liking. I've found it to be handy and worked great on my Z2 Force.
