Hi
My question is my phone is from rogers, its unlock and my provider is Bell. So when the OTA update will arrive will it be a rogers or Bell?

It will be for the phone, so it will be Rogers update.

I'm using a Rogers phone on Bell network. When I was running the rogers ROM, It would always say "no update available" and when I used a Bell ROM, I kept getting errors like "modified device" etc.
Why do you want OTA ? if you want JB, I suggest this ROM :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869300
I'm currently running it without too much problems. (it uses T-Mobile Hotspot which doesn't work on Bell for some reason)
I was running the previous leak of Bell JB and I kept getting Samsung account errors so I don't recommend it. Use Milestone 3 if you can.
So is the update is out for everybody? Still no update for me maybe because of that reason?

I'm using a Tmobile branded phone on Mobilicity. It works fine. Just have to ignore the Tmobile apps that came with it.
Had to do a small workaround for tethering, that's all (used "1 click tether")

Try telling them you will be traveling internationally to a specific country for several months for business or school (I like New Zealand ) and would like to use a local carrier's service with your phone while there. They might grant you an exception. If you are on contact those terms will still apply. Good luck.
Edit .. Or you can use the unlock method noted above... That worked for me

Now I'm on the hunt for a downgraded ROM...I found a stock 4.1.1 ROM but can you flash a actual stock ROM using cwm or do I have to use Odin and unroot?
Sent from my SAMSUNG SGH - I317 using xda app-developers app
You only need to flash the older modem (from same model phone), then flash back current modem. Search this forum.. You will find cwm packages for this.

No & no. All you need to do is downgrade your modem perform the unlock. Then reboot, then re-flash the latest modem back on the device!
Here's the first AT&T modem release:

I'm give you the first release. But you'll have to do some homework and find the newest modem. To flash back on your device.

Just use the unlock method posted on this forum. Worked for me.
Actually I read by law some carriers have to grant you if requested a unlock code...
It has to be least 6 months in contract nothing less.....And if they argue and so no..ask for supervisor. ..he he still does not give it to you ASK FOR A CLAIM TO CORPORATE. .I got a unlock code within 15min.....from corporate giving me mine...I was actually still on the phone with att supervisor when he filed a complaint and mailed corporate. ..I didn't answer the other line, , but I checked it and sure enough they gave it to me without any issues....tell them you travel...they need not more then that....it works belive me..I dont this to every phone in past 3 years every 6 months

Nice!! Kinda how I get things done when a rep/employee don't want to take care of things I need. And not just with AT&T I'll say. Whenever you go to Corporate your gonna get what you want..

They didn't when it was first released.
The ATT and Verison variants were updated about 2 months ago and that update locked the bootloader.
T Mobile never released that update. So the T Mobile version remains unlocked.
That's a big plus in my opinion, even if people are upset that the T Mobile version never got the updated with the apps2sd function. That was the update that locked the bootloader.
There is a new update coming to T Mobile sometime in the near future (probably) and it's unknown at this time if that update will lock the bootloader on teh T Mobile version as well.
