Sure it should be as to ensure your kid can have clear mind when jump from different built rom, otherwise ur kid will boring u by FC etc.

a better option will be backing up by titanium backup
you can backup your sms using sms backup pro
and if you already installed overcome kratos, you must have noticed that thepitbull already setup a guide for restoring and backuping which can be used for any roms.
I m downloading this rom.
BTW, since this was built from miuiandroid.com, why not asking them to host it as well ?

Titanium back works well also. I I mean loving this rim.

I can send Chinese message to my CDMA friend, no problem! I would guess it's your friend's problem or some unknown thing went wrong..

I would like to report that its working fine. Everything that worked in cm worked in this rom.
i don't really like the built-in browser might change it with opera.

[MOD][XPOSED] CRT off effect [NO LONGER SUPPORTED]

You have probably heard about a modification that makes your phone look like an old CRT TV when you turn it off. This is actually a builtin effect, but it is disabled by default.
There is a tutorial by tweezit that shows how easy it is to enable this effect - but it requires you to change framework-res.apk. There are different threads that offer those modified files, but to combine different modifications, there have to be many different files with all possible combinations.
To avoid this, I'm developing the Xposed framework, which allows such modifications without changing any APK (or JAR in this case). All you need to do is install the Xposed framework app (root required) and then the attached module for it - both with the normal APK installer as any other app.
Tested with Stock LPQ, but should work for most ICS ROMs (not sure about CM9 though).
This mod is no longer supported. Please use my Tweakbox instead.

Yes, you need to click a button to actually install the framework (what you download is the installer) and click a checkbox to enable the module. But both should be easy and fast.

I may be wrong, but i think this is for Samsung ROM..

I thought CM9 might already have this as an option? Well anyway, this mod is deprecated. Try using my Tweakbox, which includes this mod in a cleaner version. If that also doesn't work for you, follow these questions (and please also let me know if other Xposed mods work for you).

Shame we cannot do this without root :-(

Does this crt off effect works properly? Because until now there is an annoying flickering of the screen.
Is this problem solved ?

This mod works as good or bad as other CRT mods do. The difference is that you can combine it with other Xposed mods.
The whole thing is just a switch that is enabled, the effect itself is already existing in the ROM. I see the flickering as well. This is reported to be a bug in a native library, so I cannot fix it.
Please also note that this version of the mod is no longer supported as I have integrated it into my Tweakbox.

Yes, unchecking
a mod disables it after a restart. Same thing for uninstalling the mod of course, but then it will be automatically enabled if you install it again.
I personally can live with fhe flickering from time to time, but that's up to every user to decide for themselves.

Updating Busybox should fix that. I think this needs to go into the FAQs, several people reported it already.

And it's working great for me and many others.
As you are already using Xposed, you could try a beta version that I just uploaded. It contains a setting apply the patch on-the-fly (that is in the memory), so you do not even need to replace any more files.

I had already modified the framework res file with the uotkitchen.
It was only the scrollbar which i made red but now its gone.is there any chance to have my uot mod enabled plus the crt effekt???

[MOD][Xposed]Stock: Long press toggle buttons that bring up relevant Settings page

Hi,
For those still using the stock toggles, this is a very quick hack (I've never wrote anything in Java before and I'm not a very good programmer regardless) that lets you long-press most of the toggles in the status bar to bring up the appropriate Settings page. (Wi-Fi -> Wi-Fi settings etc.)
This works for all the status menu toggles except for Notification (I wasn't sure what Settings page that could be mapped to) and Mobile data (the Data usage page only supports being invoked externally via a shortcut and I wasn't sure how I could fake that).
How to install:
1. Install Xposed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
2. Install the attached APK, enable the module in the Xposed Installer and reboot.
What if this sends my GS III into a boot loop?
1. Boot into recovery and mount /data.
2. Attach a USB cable and run "adb shell" on your computer
3. "cd /data/xposed"
4. rm modules.list modules.whitelist
5. touch modules.list modules.whitelist
6. cd / ; umount /data
7. reboot
P.S. This is called SlightlyExtendedToggles. I do plan to expand on this when time allows.

Could you compile this for the new framework 2.0, for android 4.0?

I have a I9100 so no official 4.1 is out and I wanted to try your mod.

Fair enough. You can try the attached file. I can't test this as I don't run ICS anymore. Bear in mind that I didn't manage to make all the toggles work with long pressing even when I was running 4.0, and you may get some more that isn't working because Samsung might be using a different SystemUI with different toggles. You're actually better off running another ROM if you can (if I had an S2, I'd've so been running Chameleon by now).

Hello all
question regarding stock memo apps galaxy s2
what is the difference between the the two iterations of the stocl memo app that I have seen so far??
one is a little yellow memo with a T and the other a little yellow memo with an S ??
i started with a stock rom (cellcom israel 4.0.3)
have since moved to a variety of roms that I have tried
on some there was no way to install this app/apk as there was no touch wiz
on others ie pilotX JB beta even without TW (well there was a TW like interface) I was able to install it.
I am currently on Omega v18 XXLSJ
it came with a memo T app and when I tried to restore my memos from titanium (data only) it crashed the app
I removed that apk, from both system/app and preload/symlink/system/app
and then restored again from titanium - now I have a working memo (S) and all data
so what is the difference between these two? why does one work at times and the other at other times?
is data cross restoreable between the two somehow (by my experience seems not)

Thank you for your continuous interest in my work. I am happy to announce a new updated version of my Samy Deluxe ROM but please do not expect new versions on a daily basis. I release whenever I feel like and there is no masterplan or schedule I follow. As the Clash said, “the future is unwritten”, which means this could be the last Samy Deluxe update, or another step towards my world domination plan. Who knows?
First Samy Deluxe Release based on Android 5.0 Lollipop
This latest release is finally based on Android Lollipop but still fully adheres to my Samy Deluxe principles. No fancy-bull**** tweaks, no super-secret sauce is included, every element is straight to the point. It includes many (read carefully: not all!) Galaxy S6 features and apps, because I strongly believe this is what Samsung should have brought to all of its devices instead of forcing people to upgrade their hardware twice a year whenever Samsung releases a new flagship smartphone.
Since I am not a developer I haven’t been able to fully port all existing Galaxy S6 features. There are things missing which I am not able to fix.
I am also not including detailed instructions on how to flash this onto your Galaxy S4 because most people will not read it. If you were able to successfully flash a prior Samy Deluxe ROM version you will be able to do so again.
I installed the ROM pretty much like everybody else does. I copied the file to the internal disk, rebooted into recovery, went through the AROMA-Installer and kept my fingers crossed afterwards for a while since the very first boot up process takes an endless time.
I encourage everybody to take and modify this in every possible way and I neither don’t mind if you credit it or not, nor can I control what you are doing. Even though I must admit that I have some advanced mind control skills that will probably trick you into keep coming back here on a daily basis.
Or, to make a long story short: Use it!

Do I have to full wipe before installation?
Yes, most probably you will get some errors so a full wipe (can be done via Aroma Installer) is recommended.
Do I have to flash a bootloader or modem?
Please use a Lollipop bootlader and modem if you encounter errors. Which one doesn't matter. Do not ask where to get them or how to flash. This is a development thread. Seak assistance in an appropriate thread - there is plenty of help here at XDA but you want everything directly served to you. Well, sorry but this is a "bring your own beer party"!

After you choose "install zip" it is an option twoard the bottom. Uncheck that.

Also don't go back to 4.3?

I don't know about original 4.3 builds, all I can say is that I switched between 4.3 and 4.4 custom ROMs without a problem, but AGAIN: I don't know about official builds/stock odin packages.

Hello there , Did you use @friedrich420 rom as base mate? and why arent you giving him any credit or something. or your part of hes team? hehe and Sound setting is Fcing when i try to change the volume

I did use the SecSettings.apk that was posted here a couple of days ago. I credited the thread starter. If that was taken from somewhere else I am sorry and will credit as stated in my first post.
Volume works fine here and is no issue so I guess you must have dirty flashed or something.

I didn't mean that this ROM will be useless when the leak is available. I meant it could only get better. No need to say rude comments mate. Not good. I was just praising your work
