Vivitar 50-in-1 SD Card Reader Issues... (bought @ Wal-Mart) - General Accessories

A couple of weeks ago I paid <i>around</I> $6.00 & bought this Vivitar 50-in-1 SD Card Reader from Wal-Mart. I've tried EVERYTHING that I can think of to get this thing to work & NOTHING I've tried seems to be working. I've tried plugging it into each one of my USB ports on my Windows 7 PC(Windows Updates are Current) and all that I can get my computer to do is recognize that there is a "New Device" plugged in. After my computer recognizes that a "New Device" has been plugged in, when I double-click the Vivitar Drive(F in "My Computer" & try to open it up, it does NOTHING. It just sits there & the hourglass will spin for a sec, then it stops. I got this card reader for the purpose of reading each of my 16gb & 32gb SD cards, separately. I've tried plugging the card reader into the computer (1.) WITH a SD Card already in it AND (2.) plugging the card reader into the computer with NOTHING in it at all, then inserting one of the SD Cards into the reader after my computer has recognized that the card reader has been plugged in. STILL..after trying BOTH of these methods, neither seems to be working. I have NO IDEA what the deal is with this crazy thing, other than the fact that it simply doesn't want to cooperate with my computer. I'm considering just taking this thing back to the store & exchanging it for a different one.. Does anyone have any idea about this? If so, thank you for your input!! I've included a few pictures of the device here for y'all.

Storage card not read

I'm sorry if this was answered elsewhere, but I couldn't find a thread related to this....
My TP2 was acting up, so I soft reset. After Sense loaded, I got a message "Do you want to format this storage card to make it readable? This will permanently delete any files on the card". Now the phone is not reading a card anywhere.
Is there anything I can do to make it readable? I figure the easiest solution is put the card into my computer, copy all the files, put the card back in the phone and format it, and then put the files back on the card. However, I don't have a miniSD adapter, and I won't be able to get one til tomorrow at the soonest, and I kind of need this taken care of today. Any suggestions? I would appreciate it. Thank you.
yeah best bet would be to put it in a memory card reader and access it through your pc. probably got corrupt somehow. there are some recovery apps out there to get the most of the corrupt data out.
Have you tried plugging your device into your pc and setting it in disk drive mode to see if you can access your memory card?
also theres a really cool microsd usb card reader on amazon for $3.99 +shipping. I ordered one and it came in a couple days, its pretty slick. check it out here
good luck, oh and heres what the memory card reader looks like, comes in white or black.

[Q] EVO writes to sd card faster than read

I just found out that my EVO reads my sd card at a slower speed than writing it. Below is a snapshot I took when using SD card test reader on the phone. I have similar results (reading slower than writing speeds) on 3 of the micro sd cards I tested. This is very evident when I tried to copy a few backup roms I made to my computer. 2 gb of data took roughly 35 minutes to complete.
When I took the sd card out of the phone and hook it up to my laptop I can transfer the same 2gb of roms in just 2 minutes (17 MB speed).
What could be going on with the phone?

Weird. My phone/SD card have the opposite 'problem:' Read @ 3MB/s, write @ 2 MB/s. Class 2 SD Card.
Yeah I called both HTC and Sprint and they couldn't figure out what is the problem. I should get a replacement but I'm afraid a new phone will be android 2.2 already and I can't root anymore.
The EVO definitely acts a bit strangely as a disk drive, look at the following results I got with the same Polaroid 16gb Class 2 card I got from Fry's. The left image is through an micro to regular SD card adapter through my laptop, the right image is with the micro sd mounted through my EVO as a disk drive.
The SD speet test app on my phone netted 5mb read/5mb write
Nevermind, cheap card?
Sent from my phone.

It has a built-in battery (could charge any device if needed) ,so no need power.
It has built-in WiFi hotspot.
You can plug both SD card and USB device (key or HDD,but maybe the HDD need to be powered for works like my external 1TB,so i use Y USB cable ).
You can connect to your WiFi trought the Mobilelite ,you have access to the devices attached + navigate through inernet.
Just need to install application from PlayStore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kingston.mobilelite&feature
Turn on Mobilelite , wait until to see the blue LED ,now connect your Tab (or any device) to MobileliteWireless SSID ,then start the app.
You can browse and play all your contents from you USB drives.
The app has option for connect through another WiFi for be online and browse your USB contents at same time.
so is this a H Drive with Wifi and a card reader
It's not a Hard drive, you can plug hard drive, NTFS or FAT32.
Voyager Air
This is the best wireless HHD I ever used the Voyager Air and you can use it as a NAS in your network at home. The price is high but worth it.
Yes it's good as the Seagate Wireless Plus
http://www.seagate.com/external-har...ives/wireless/wireless-plus/?sku=STCK1000200#
But both are too expensive if you already have HDD.

Thanks for links.
The Adata seems doesn't support NTFS http://www.adata-group.com/index.php?action=product_specification&cid=9&piid=207&lan=en
RavPower seems to be OK but need confirmation http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2169383
Confirmed for RavPower, good.

Wondering why my SM-T807T lost it's data connection for a week.

This is odd story. Sorry it's so long.
I have a Galaxy Tab S (SM-T807T) that recently lost the T-Mobile 4G connection. The tablet had been rooted (Stock 5.0.2) for a couple of weeks prior and was working fine. It just went away all of a sudden. The sim card works in another tablet but another sim will not allow a data connection. There are full bars that move as the tablet moves. WIFI, Bluetooth, everything else runs fine. I re-flashed the stock ROM but that didn't change the status.
I called T-Mobile and verified the card was provisioned correctly. I then called Samsung and their response was to just send it in. I was hoping to learn more as it is a month out of warranty. I took it to a local repair shop and they said the sim card holder was faulty, and there was not a replacement available. I searched online and could not find one with the same part number as the one in the tablet. (See pictures below)
So I purchased another beat up SM-T807T so I could scavenge the sim card reader flex cable and put it in the newer tablet. My sim card has worked fine in this new tablet the past few days.
And just now, I put the sim back in the original tablet to verify some info after reading some posts here and before posting this, and the connection was back. I took the sim out and put it back in, rebooted a couple of times and it seems to be back to normal.
Does anyone have any ideas on this? Don't get me wrong, I glad it's working again and I now have an additional beater tablet to use out in the field. I am just really curious. I was afraid the rooting/flashing had something to do with it.
Thanks for your help,
Don
This is what is in the tablet now.
