Hi,
i did a factory reset, now after installing wats app several times it wont restore the backup on my sd card.
tried renaming the database file and copying it to wats app folder but not even a single message.
Make backup with whatsapp en localize the folder databases copy you're own backup in this folder, uninstall whatsapp en install again only firts startup will check backup

Is there a way to b/u my personal bookmarks from my browser so that if I install another rom I can transfer them into my system files or wherever they go by using root explorer? If I have to coy them to my sd card where in the file system are they located?
Titanium backup saves and restores bookmarks.

Hello everyone! I've been trying to find the answer to my question in the forum but I have not succeed.
The thing is that I want to get the apk files of some of the app's I have installed on my Desire.
I use Norton Mobile Utilities to check the directory where the apk file of each app is stored. Some of them are in /mnt/asec and these are so easy to find there and save them via copy-paste. On the other hand, some app's are stored in /data/app-private/ but when I check this directory with my file browser it appears completely empty.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance!
Get App Backup & Restore from market and than make backup to specified folder on sdcard.

For backing up and restoring apps i can highly recommend titanium backup. Using it everytime i change rom or install current new. Never had problems.

to see /data you would need root explorer.
or you could try My backup Root, backup apps you need and then extract .apk from .rar
some file explorer programs like Astro have this feature as built in component

Just tried both Titanium Backup and Root Explorer. They both work. Thank you all!
Titanium backup is probably the best way to get APK's quickly.
I use Astro too which you could try too.
Hi there,
Just wanted to show how I switch ROMs using free apps. I am not responsible for any data loss. This is just my method and it is nothing new for many.
My focus is to backup Launcher settings, sms and contacts and apps+ their data.
I use these programs:
Es File explorer
Efficient backup
Appextrator( alternative 2)
Backdrop (alternative 3)
Superbackup (just in case)
Let's start.
My main method. First rule. Always do a nandroid backup before you install a new rom.
Then:
1) Backup Apps+data using Efficient backup. I don't backup system apps to avoid strange errors.
2) sms and contacts. copy in sdcard the folders /data/providers/contacts and /data/providers/telephony. Also export contacts as vcf file just in case.
3) install new rom. Install es file manager and Efficient backup. Restore apps+data using Efficient Backup.
4) Copy from previous backup in sdcard, the contacts and sms using Es file manager in this way:
copy all files from /sdcard/ data/providers/contacts/databases
To
/data/providers/contacts/databases and confirm.
Plus copy all files from /sdcard/data/providers/telephony/databases
To
/data/providers/telephony/databases and confirm.
Then reboot.
As launcher I use Apex and its backup feature.
To be continued...
You could just use MyBackup Root and do all of the above (minus the launcher settings.)
TiBu and Google Sync FTW!

I accidentally uninstalled the default Samsung Gallery app using Titanium Backup. I had a backup, but the backup failed to restore using titanium backup.
I also tried to re-add the contents to the Systems/App directory using root explorer, but that failed too. I think the folder was supposed to be called ScGallery2015 or something..? Can someone check their Systems/App directory and see what the folder is called and what it should have? If you could even send me those files that would be great. :crying:
Any help is appreciated.

Can someone upload the SecGallery2015 contents? Including with whatever is inside the Arm64 folder.
