Help with flash tool - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Folks
I need some help with flash tool.
I cannot install the drivers for flashtool and because i cant do this i cannot flash any roms. I try and install the drivers for XPlay, FlashMode and Fastboot from the flashtool driver toll. And i get the following message.
Google Inc (Win USB) AndroidUsbDeviceClass Install Fail
Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications (ggsemc) USB Install Fail
Sony Ericsson (WinUSB) sa0102AdbDeviceClass Install Fail
I have tried running as admin and have tried various methods from the forum to no avail. I have SDK installed. At present i can not go into recovery. Is there anyway to manually install these drivers.
Please Help.

Hold down back button while plugging your play in when it is off and it should install drivers without flashtool

Bootloader is different than getting ics. If I remember correct if bootloader is unlocked, Sony pcc or update service will not work. You sure your still locked?
Does flashtool find your phone? If not try there drivers.
Sounds stupid but you did reboot after installing pcc / Seus?

Ya I rebooted million the bootloader is definetly locked I was just wondering about that because it's not updating so I was thinking about just rooting and flashing ics but I hate how it deletes all ure stuff.

If you unlocked your bootloader you have to go back to 100% stock gb then update.

It can't be unlocked so I'm pre sure I'm safe from that aspect lol

Have you tried ftfing the 105 ics firmware through flash tool?
Sent from my LT28at using xda premium
Tried it but everytime I enter flashmode on my device it will try to install a driver and then it will say the device has disconnected and the battery charging thing pops up then the driver fails to install happens on Sus seus flashtool everything sooooo annoyiiing

Did you let the flash driver load before you tried flashing?? If you connect the device in flashmode and let the driver install in Windows then unplug the device. It should now work.
That's the problem tho the driver will not install I went to the Sony store and it worked fine on his computer. I'm gonna try again later because I'd like to root my phone

You can try installing android sdk to get drivers for ADB. You can try the old way to root using ADB not flashtool. Just use the ftf of your choice for ics.

This sounds more like a problem with your particular PC, than with the phone itself...
update wasn't available so i flashed with flashtool on a GB LT28AT. Got absolutely no where for several hours. No matter what i tried, flashtool refused to recognize the phone. I had tried before installing companion, after installing, after uninstalling...installing stock mass storage drivers...holding down and plugging the phone in while flash tool was installed...while it wasn't installed...installing some of the flashtool drivers (of which the ion was never a phone listed), installing all of the flashtool drivers, uninstalling all drivers, rolling back windows, installing some drivers from flashtool...that weren't quite what i had installed before..........etc...
then magically...I'm just sitting there with flashtool open at its log box. I plugged the phone in...again...while holding down volume key, and i get a notice that 'S1 Boot Driver successfully installed'. press the lightning bolt expecting the same result...90 seconds later my phone boot up with the ICS welcome screen...how i got that S1 boot thing to initiate? your guess is as good as mine, but its definitely key for getting a windows PC to flash an lt28.
Something must be blocking it question is what lol I have gotten a notice about that too it says something may be blocking it or the driver has no devices associated with it

[Help] Xperia S adb problem

Hi,
I have a new xperia S and I'm not able to connect adb debuging.
I have Xperia u20 and sk17i and never had this problem, I tried many drivers but don't manage to get this working.
Tips are more than welcome, thanks
Did you try this driver? http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/xperia-s-driver-for-ics/
Maybe it will work.

Thanks, I tried.
The phone it's new and I wanted to have root on it but without this I'm not able. Is it necessary change from MTP mode? Because I'm not able to change mode.
I'm not using sim card in the phone, I suppose it doesn't matter, I don't have micro sim yet.
My minipro appears when I type "adb device"
Edit:
Solved my problem: 2 drivers in the computer, Lt26i and Sony ADB, I was fighting with Sony ADB because the first one was working correctly with PC companion. The solution was to force Lt26i driver to be reinstalled with a manually chosen driver (the one you proposed) and Sony ADB just installed correctly, finaly I have root!
If necessary delete this

I am having an unlocked bootloader Xperia S., even after knowing that the unlock bootloader will not update from the PC Companion I tried installing a stock after soft brick. PC Companion was downloading and preparing for update. Does it really work?
Didn't take any risk and Flashed Cynogenmod 10 via Recovery.

How are you connecting your phone? For Xperia S, to connect to EMMA your phone must be in fastboot or flash mode(can't remember which one). Have you tried connecting in these modes?
Edit:
That's an interesting picture.
