Linking contact problem

Hi
I like to link my phone contacts to my Facebook ones
Ive just had a friend accept my friend request on facebook, he appears on my friend list when i launch the facebook app and via pc
but when i go in via the people section on my phone, he's not on the list of facebook friends ???
Anybody else have this and/or a cure ??

Its done, synced and up to date (as it always is)
the problem is that the last guy i accepted on facebook (and is present when i launch the standalone app or on pc ) is not showing up under the contact list when going in through the link contact route!
ive linked all my other contacts without a fuss

while on people have you clicked on menu > view > and tick all the facebook contacts?

i had some problems with contacts last nite, did that and helped lol

I might just have to let this problem go...its such a small thing but it's really pi**ing me off.
I've rebooted the phone on several occasions, ive logged out and in of facebook several times, nothing seems to want to budge the problem....ive even mailed htc about it !

have you tried updating your facebook contacts in the online directories, in the people application? ive just done it as i was having a problem with no facebook contacts showing up and its now working.

facebook auto log-in to chat

hi guys,
is there a way not to auto log-in to the facebook chat with the new app?
I don't want to be available the whole time. After logging off from the chat in the app, I press chat and I'm online without asking me if I want to.

I absolutely hate this. I never use the chat and clicked on it by accident... Now not only does it log me on in the app automatically, it refreshes the login automatically, too.
For example, I open the Facebook app on my phone (I don't even have to open chat, just the app) and now I'm logged in. If I go to Facebook on my desktop, I'm still logged into chat there as well. So I log out. An hour later I open up Facebook on the desktop and guess what? I'm logged in again. The Facebook app is re-logging me in remotely (and automatically) from another device.
I'm seriously thinking about uninstalling the app and just using the mobile site in the browser. This is getting ridiculous.

gravis, why not just download an older version of Facebook? Like 1.4.3 or whatever was right before 1.5.0 with Chat?

Does it log you into chat automatically whenever you have Facebook open? I'm not sure if it does that or log you into chat once you click chat..if it does that once you click chat then it shouldn't be a problem.
I wonder myself because I don't want people think I'm on Facebook 24/7 as I have the Facebook widget and I stay logged into Facebook to get updates to my news feed.

It's logging me in anytime I open the app. I have only ever clicked on chat once. However, rebooting my phone seems to have fixed the issue; though I'm assuming once I click on chat it'll start all over again.
So simple solution: reboot and never click the chat button again :-( it's a shame we have to do this...

Yeah that makes sense, seeing as the literal only difference between 1.4.X and 1.5.0 was Chat.
That's it. Nothing else.

For me personal it is a shame. All my friends want to write in the chat.
Any. Yes. My FB app is not on.!!!!
So. If i ever click on the FB chat im always connected in the net..
How to solve that problem. FB touch isn´t so great and the other apps. Nope....
So? Any ideas. I won´t klick "go offline" on every FB session!

how can i downgrade my facebook app? do i just have to scour the net for the previous version and download, or can i somehow downgrade through the market?

I use ebuddy from the market. You can pick wich IM clients to log in and out of.

If Facebook was one of the built-in apps on your phone (i.e., located in the /system/apps directory), you should be able to just uninstall it (it will only uninstall the market update and not touch the built-in version). If it wasn't built-in, then you'll either need a backup of the old version or search for it.

All you have to do is go to the app, go into chat press menu and then click go offline. This way you will be offline even after reboots.

Facebook contact not showing

For some reason only one of my Facebook friends is not showing up in my contact list, i have, in settings, set it to show all Facebook contacts. It shows all except one. I go into my Facebook app and it shows him as a friend...i don't get it... I've cleared out my log in through accounts and then set it back up, waited for all the contacts to be linked up again, but he's still not there... really frustrating... any ideas?

No.... that's not it at all.... I got all my facebook contacts showing... except the one..... I've even added new facebook friends and they show up, I've even unfriended him and then refriended him, and he still doesn't show up!

Yes! This is just the issue I've experienced too. One of my contacts doesn't show up no matter what I do. I've spent a lot of time playing with this. It's quite annoying. I think this is a problem on FB's side.

Well I don't know what exactly I did to fix it, but its working now... I went into my facebook albums to check out some pics and he was on the lost so I checked my contact list and he was linked again

I think sometimes if the names don't match up perfectly it doesn't find it...I'm sure you verified this already though.

Facebook Sync/Contacts/Messaging
I am having a problem getting my contact picture to appear in messaging as well as caller ID.
I have synced my Facebook account with my contact list, joined all of the contacts, and have the Caller ID default set to the Facebook picture.
However, all of the pictures in my messaging and when someone calls me comes up as the blank default picture as if they do not have one set.
The pictures appear in the contact list fine, and are all marked as default for caller ID. How can I get their pictures to appear in my messaging and my caller ID?

Everyone here needs to say what ROM they are using. HTC Sense does things different then cm7. sense 3.0 may do thing different then 2.1 or 1.0. Also are you using the "Sync" in the facebook application or are you using the accounts sync in htc sense?
I dont think anyone here has enough information to answer your questions at this point.
One thing you may want to do is add that one contact as a contact in gmail (if that is what you sync contact with) and see if that contact gets linked with the facebook person.

i am having the same problem with only one fb contact not showing in my android samsung epic touch galaxy 2 stock OS not showing. THE NAME MATCHES PERFECTLEY.(even when names dont match perfectly... there is one contact for the fb name and one phone contact spelled differently and not linked.) i have done everything you have tried also with no results... im pissed. ive unfriended him and refriended him twice. PLEASE HELP

Can't Log out on Facebook for Android app?

Good day. Sorry for my ignorance since this is my first android phone. But can anyone assist me on how to log out of facebook for android? When i log in, there is no option to log out anymore which means that when i click on the facebook icon, it would direct me to facebook under my log in account. So if someone uses the phone, he would not be able to use it since its in my account already. Mine is 2.3.3 version. I could only remove my log-in when i go to settings and remove my account in facebook.

This xperia roms are working together with facebook account. You probably would have problems after using another account especially with phonebook. So better tell them to use your browser like opera to check their fb once.thats what i do

Perhaps you can prevent access to the fb app by means of some locking app? That way you wouldn't have to worry about others using your profile.

I just tried to log out, it is ok.
just tab on the fb logo, it will open up the fb with 9 icons with notification menu, the press the Menu (right) button, and you can log out.
I am also on 2.3.3

You must be kidding. Reboot doesn't logout from FB ot Twitter.
What does log out is to clear ALL the data in App prefs in settings.

Clear data
You can go to settings/apps/Facebook and choose "clear data." This will remove your log-in information from the Facebook app.

MediaPad M2 10 Facebook does not work

Hello,
I have a problem with the official FB app.
On a completely fresh start the tablet I installed FB. Applications just running, but if I want to search appears to me a white screen and the application shuts down. A surface. I tried to restore to factory settings, and it's been fb application after installation or boot. Respectively. login form will appear after logon, but no longer start up time line. Bila screen, and then the application crashes.
I thought it was a mistake tablet. So I returned it and bought new. And as I write above, tablet, I embarked on fresh, installed the FB but when searching FB falls.
Do you have experience with that?

Hi. Here is work fine. My only problem is when i want to poke someone, the name is not reconize. That's it...
