Flashing Official 4.2.2 & then GENNXT ROM - Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hi
GT - I9082
CURRENT FIRMWARE - 4.2.1
UNROOTED
i just tried to flash the CWM as shown by DBZo07 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368819) But my CWM doesn't get updated. It still remains same as before. So i am unable to root it.
So now as new firmware is released 4.2.2 (INDIA)..can i straight away flash through odin.
after i am on official 4.2.2, then can i flash it with GENNEXT ROM. So that i will get rooted device directly.
Also regarding flashing. Only 1 file is required to flash the mobile. Right?? (eg : INU-I9082XXUBMHD-20130906145403.zip) i just have to select the above file in PDA..and flash it..

do not double post.
you are currently ON the latest stock firmware for your device. are you wanting to install a custom ROM to get a newer (4.2.2) release?
you can use Rom Manager to update your recovery. once thats done, if you havent done so yet, boot into recovery and make a nandroid (backup). you may need it down the road.
yes!
Yes I want to know how i can update my 4.1.1 once the newer Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update is available.
i have made a nandroid back and i also made a titantiam backup..
is there a newer version of CWM for my phone??rom manager says no.

The 4.2.2 custom roms are located in the Original Android Development section. There is no 4.2.2 update from samsung. Look them over and read up on the flashing process. The link in my signature has some good information.

Questions: Upgrade note 2 from 4.1.2 to 4.3 (Custom ROM)

The more I read , the more options I encountered and Im confused.
Some rom flashing expert please confirm the following steps to upgrade from stock 4.1.2 to a custom ROM 4.3 Mk4
1) I download Odin
2) then download philz recovery
3) Flash philz recovery using Odin
Ok at this point , if i reboot the Phone should still be working fine right?
Then to flash a custom 4.3 Rom mk4 I do the following
1) Download ROM
2) Download MultiTool advanced
3) install Multitool Zip file using Philz recovery previously installed
4) Aroma will start and I will get options to flash ROM
I will keep all at default in Aroma, and thus the Custom ROM will be installed
The 2 ROMS im interested are Dr ketans and DN3
Now since both roms are pre rooted and Knox free, I should be able to revert back to 4.1.2
Now I need someone to tell how to go abck to 4.1.2 and how to flash official 4.3 in case ROM I flashed is not upto expectation and results in buggy phone.
Please correct me when necessary plz
Mam / Sir any update here? because This is also my concerned. Thanks to someone that may lead us.
I think a simple way to revert to stock 4.1.2 is to do a nandroid backup from the recovery before flashing the custom rom.
If you do not like the rom, you do a wipe and restore the backup.

just another step before Philz is to download ketans multi tool v2 advanced and then root and install philz via that...
you just flash the 4.1.2 FW back using odin

[Q] From UCUEMJ2 to CyanogenMod

I found leaked version of 4.3 update on internet called UCUEMJ2 and then flashed the Knox-enabled leaked version.
Now I want to flash CyanogenMod on my phone. Is it safe? I heard it can brick phone because of knox. If it's safe then how to do so?
You could use Odin to flash a custom recovery which allows you to flash a custom ROM.
I don't think you need to flash the leaked 4.3 ROM before installing 4.4.2-based ROMs. At least I didn't have to.
its safe to flash rom from leak mj2 to cyanogenmod.. i flashed CM11 last week via CWM Recovery...root it first then update ur SuperSU to disable knox then install custom recovery, backup ur current rom then flash Cyanogenmod...

[Q] s3 I747 update ?

hi guys new to the galaxy phone and i have been looking into flashing a rom. i have done all the ground work root and custom recovery but now im trying to flash a rom and i get errors. i looked it up to a point where everything i do want to flash requires a 4.4 or 4.3 update and i am stuck in 4.1 is there any solution to this like start from an older rom and work my way up to a current rom. would that work or odin the phone to a current update if possible to find the update. what options do i have ?
not sure if this is the correct thread
Well I would just flash via Odin up to 4.3 because most Roms require the 4.3 boot loader so yea

I recommend you not update to the 4.3 bootloader as the 4.3 bootloader can cause problems when trying to flash back to stock. Once you're on a 4.3 bootloader, you cannot downgrade to a lower version. Most ROMs seem to work fine with a 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 bootloader.
If you have the att s3 (i747) and not the Bell/Telus/Rogers s3 (i747m), you cannot use Odin to flash a stock 4.3 ROM as it does not exist. You would need to flash a version of 4.3 that has been custom compiled for flashing via Odin.
I would download the latest version of Philz Touch and flash the tar version via Odin. Copy a custom ROM to your SD card, boot to recovery, wipe cache, Dalvik, data, and flash the ROM.
