Unfortunately, my contacts have not synchronized with google account before and contacts not so important for me now. I need any way to unlock the phone for access to all my data. I tryed to connect by HDMI to TV as a display, but it does not work now too (no HDMI signal before unlock).

Take it to radio shack. They will fix it for $50

Facebook sync

Het so my facebook won't sync photos to my contracts it worked just before I flashed my Rom again. Any ideas?

Try logging out and logging in again. And then select 'sync with existing contacts' when prompted.
Have done that
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
Try to reinstall the app and sync the contacts again.
try to join contact
Tried both of those opinions
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
Are your contacts local stored or synchronized via exchange or something similar?
I have same experience on my ArcS with different roms tried (arconium, xperia mod)
DooMKernel v15, Baseband -64, Firmwares .62
All my actions below are no luck...
1) Tried install/ remove either Facebook inside Xperia or Facebook
2) Reset Join/ Separate
3) Contacts are at Google account (Contacts in phone are also tried)
4) Contact names 100% match to Facebook or partially matched
In contact page, it has a note "Facebook contact information is not editable on this device"
Any ideas?
Comes due unlocking the bootloader I guess.
I just see the birthday now and before bootloader unlocking I had their pic and other information synced, too.

Transfer contacts?

My friend broke his screen on his HTC trophy and he is unable to see anything on the screen. He cannot put in his password to unlock the phone. Does anyone have any ideas on how to transfer the contacts? Cellibrite will not work because the phone cannot be unlocked because the broken screen....

Phone is not unlocked.
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using XDA Premium App
He doesn't need to; they will all transfer automatically when he puts his sim card into a new windows phone and logs into his live account associated with his original phone. If he needs to see his contact have him visit his windowsphone.com account and view contacts.
If no sim card, no worries, just sign into new phone using the live id he used on the trophy.
I think that is part of the problem. He never did have a windows live account.
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using XDA Premium App
He had to set one up at some point to use the market, built in services like Office & Skydrive, Find My Phone ect. He's either got a "live" or "hotmail" account, and that is where his contacts will be stored. He could have had them sync elsewhere in addition to that (like gmail ect)
He has his replacement phone which is a HTC trophy as well. He has the phone up and going but his contacts are not there. What should he log into to bring up his contacts? Window market, his email account,... sorry for the newb question. I am use to android.
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using XDA Premium App
What for email did he use?
Windows live 1st... it is usually required.
Gmail?
Exchange?
Any of these he could have been saving contacts too. Just not pop3 like comcast for example.
Have him enter all of his email accounts that his previous phone used and see what happens after they sync.
Ok. Thanks

ICS-Offline charging + FB Contact Pictures

Hello,
I have an Arc S (LT18i) - unlocked + rooted
And now on ICS (Stock UK Version)the phone do not charge the battery while phone is power off.
Also Facebook Contact pictures are not shown in the dialer or Phone book.
On Gingerbread all works fine, but now on ICS not.
Is there a chance to solve that problems???
Sent from my LT18i using XDA Premium App
Anybody help please!?!!
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
Facebook contact sync doesnt work in ICS, something about permissions I think
I use this app to sync pictures, works perfectly for me
Search for Facebook contact sync on the market its free.
The charger problem is because of the root process.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...+this+one+for+me+and+test+if+it+works&page=27
download the file on the third post, and replace the files on your phone, and voila.
It worked for me
Thank you! It worked fine!
Phone charges now in power off mode, and fb-contacts issue is gone by itself!

WiFi SMS &/or MMS Apps

I'm interested in people with direct experience using apps on the N7 that enable text messaging over a WiFi connection. I'm interested in ones that truly allow you to send & receive messages to/from cell phones - not ones dependant upon email (as I believe gtalk is).
PS - The UI has to be easy to use, as this is getting setup on an N7 for my Father-in-Law - and he's 62.

Only app I use is tablet talk. You can connect via WiFi or Bluetooth. It can send and receive MMS also. It is the best app I have used. I use it daily. It is $2.99 I believe but well worth the price.

Really? I've always thought there were apps available that allowed true WiFi messaging. Some of the ones I've been looking at are:
HeyWire
textPlus
Talkatone
In the reading I've done so far, these all seem to be apps that allow one to do what I'm aiming for. I started this topic thread to see if anyone on the N7 has either direct experience with any of these, or any other apps that are similar in function/purpose.
You're saying that even these require a phone to be tethered through WiFi, or BT though?

This is not true. CLOUD SMS is an app that does not require blue tooth, or for the phone and tablet to be connected to the same Wifi. It is simple to use, your phone can be on data, or wifi(doesn't have to be same location), and you can send and receive from phone or tab. It cost 99 cents in the play store. I've followed it through the beta process here on xda and I would highly recommend it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I looked this app up and read about it. This app looks like it does require a tethered phone. Is that true in your experience with it, or is there a way to use it independently of a phone?

I misunderstood your request. I apologize. Yeah it requires both phone and tablet to be on the same WiFi network in order to use for SMS/MMS.

The OP is talking about texting from a tablet over WiFi with no phone at all.
Can't be done, texts are sent over mobile data and not WiFi.
Google voice may be able to do it, but not sure.

Doesn't tablet talk require that you be on the same wifi with both the phone and tablet, or be connected by bluetooth? Cloud SMS does not require either of these, my phone can be at home and my tablet can be at work connected to wifi, this is a fact, I use it every day. If I'm wrong about Tablet Talk requirements(haven't used it several months) then I apologize. I may have misunderstood the question, but the information I provided, in response to your comment that the phone and tablet have to be near each other, was correct. But your "tone" is both unnecessary and not appreciated. I was just trying to provide info on an app that I am familiar with. I'm not sure what your problem is.

I use Verizon messages on mine. It is Dependant on having a Verizon smartphone and being on the same wifi, but works like a charm for me. Let's you send and receive SMS amend MMS and pretty much anything your phone can do and doesn't require a separate plan for the tablet

Mighty Text let's you send texts through your phone using your pc. I am using the beta for nexus 7, so when I get a text on my Optimus G, I get a notification on my Nexus 7 and have the ability to respond to the text using the tablet, and no need to use the telephone. As far as the texter goes, they think you are texting from your phone. Even better, anything you do on the tablet shows up in your telephone's text app. Mighty Text also allows you to keep a history of the text. I hope this helps.

This is correct. I use Cloud SMS everyday. I hate connecting my phone to wifi, but it still uses the phones mobile data to send the sms through the internet to my wifi tablet. Also when im away from home, i tether them together and it also works perfectly like that as well. I hate taking my phone out of my pocket while im on my tablet, this way I never have to.

It's less expensive. I don't know for tablet talk but the Dev of cloud SMS is super fast to respond and to add features. You can find his thread on xda.
Also it s not possible without phone. Maybe with a 3g model and the sms app? Not even sure it will work...
Why not just set up a Google phone# and side load whatsApp? I have it on my n7 linked to my Google voice number. No problems. No needed to target to phone or data. True wifi sms ... And free.
The setup is the hard part...Very easy after that.

Mysms is a great tool! It can send sms over your phone and gets synched automatically. It even supports "internal" (free) messages from mysms-users and group chats (since yesterday). Very nice tool!

So, you have a Google Voice number, don't have it tied to anything, and are able to send txt via your tablet that way?

Yea Google voice lets you text via the tablet independent of or phone. You can even pay a one time fee of 20 dollars to import or existing phone number but if not just download the app on or tab and or good to go. And you can download the app on or phone if you want to text through that away from ur tablet
