unluckily, I can not hard reset by pressing volume down and power
DO U have another method?
thanks!
for hard reset on stock cwm : turn phone off. press vol up + vol down + power.
I had the same problem. I even got worse and the phone wouldn't even turn on. So what worked for me is this:
I put the phone in download mode (Vol Up + Vol Down and then plug the usb)
After that I open LG Mobile Support tool. http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe
Wait for the program to detect the phone then go to Options-> Upgrade Recovery. Wait for the process to finish.
After it finished the phone loaded normally and everything was intact. All my files and apps were untouched.

1. Unplug phone - VERY important
2. power on phone, doesn't matter if it is boot looping or whatever
3. hold vol up and power EXACTLY 10 seconds
4. let go of both
5. hold vol down and power till boot loader comes up.
You have no charge because you are running an old ver of twrp, get 2.7.1.0

Share how I fixed my HTC M8 with the same problem.
Hi,
I just want to share how I fixed my HTC M8 with the same issue. The method is the same but a bit different. I found the solution from googling the below link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...ter-download-mode-t2853100/page2#post62490577
The essential method is to keep holding down the power button and don't let it go while pressing on the volume up button to reset. At the very moment before the phone resets and shows the HTC logo white screen, switch from pressing the volume up button to the volume down button while holding down the power button. Or you can count 10 seconds and switch before the screen resets.
I hope this helps other people with the same issue.

Thanks, the pwr + vol-up 10 seconds before the phone hard resets, them pwr + vol-down got me back into hboot and recovery and then out of a build.prop issue.
I have no idea why this is a thing: Getting into the boot loader is usually easy. I can't imagine why when the system doesn't boot normally that the standard procedure to enter hboot changes.
regardless of retarded engineering on qualcom or htc's part, thank you an0ther.
Here's what I did:
Had everything running fine with twrp installed and rooted.
Booted into twrp.
Wiped cache system and dalvik.
Restart.
Device wouldn't boot or go to recovery.
Attempt to follow THIS
Process fails.
Unplug device as instructions say.
Device battery dies.
Device will no longer boot into anything, including download mode.
Help?

Make sure your device is fully charged and turned off.
Simultaneously press and hold the power and volume down buttons.
When the LG logo shows up, release the power button only.
Now press and hold the power and volume up button while keeping your hold on the volume down button.
When the factory reset screen appears, release your hold on all buttons.
Press the power button to continue.
Press the power button again to confirm if you’re sure you wish to continue with the reset.

THIS TRIC'LL DO IT, BUDDY..... SUGGEST NEXT TIME YOUSTAY CLEAR OF THE HIDDEN MENU THOUGH!!! UNFORTUNATELY YOU'LL LOSE ALL OF YOUR DATA..NO JUMPING THIS.
1. Start your phone up by holding onto both the power button and the buttom volume key. When the logo pops up, let go for a second, and hold onto both buttons again. This should bring up the option to reset your phone. Agree to both prompts.
2. You should be on a new screen. It may warn you not to touch the screen because it is calibrating or testing it. You will have to press OK, and then give it a few seconds to do that bit.
3. The screen should have a list of options at this point (some of which say "+power) on them. If you want to use any of these options, you need to hold the power button, and then press that option on the screen. Press "normal boot (+power)" (don't forget to hold the power button at the same time). This should put your phone back to normal, and set it up again just like it came out of the box.
ENJOY YOUR PHONE BACK

Shut the phone down. then remove the battery and wait 20 seconds and reinsert it. Then try to get into recovery (look here for how to http://www.android.gs/enter-recovery-mode-lg-g3/) mode and see if the phone is recognised by the computer if you connect it. Then do a data factory reset in recovery.
Turn off your phone – you can press power button once for selecting “power off” or you can press and hold the power key for about 5 or 6 seconds.
Now, press and hold Power and Volume down buttons at the same time.
When the LG logo appears, release the keys.
Immediately press Power and Volume Down buttons again until the Hard Reset menu will be displayed.
Press Power button once and confirm the hard reset operation (this will not be necessarily if your LG G3 is running on a custom recovery image).
That’s it; now your LG G3 will boot into recovery mode.

I tried that but doesn't work. It continues in LG logo loop. What could I do? My PC can't detect my phone too.

I did that you said (but keeping volume up pressed, with volume down it did nothing). It enters on download mode but it only keeps in this mode like 2 secs, if I keep volume up pressed it enters again and again, if I release the button it restarts to LG logo loop.

so, nothing you can do to solve the problem, if you are in guarantee time so the only thing you can do is sending the phone to LG Service Center to try fix the problem or maybe replace it!
