I have an old sim and on the grandfather unlimited plan, at&t said they'd take me off of it iif I got a new sim for the phone, so can I use my old sim on this? Its not lte by the way so I hope it works.

Yes, if you can find a unlocked Galaxy S3 and if you can cut your SIM to the right dimensions.

I can unlock mine, I need to know if anyone knows if the procedure online is safe enough that people have already done it.

You can unlock it and use.att sim. Get a micro sim.cutter.

if you bought it outright, call tmobile and they will send you the unlock instructions. no questions asked. done. then you will have to get a microsim cutter and you're golden.
I am having some problems getting my phone to find my network and register on it. I am with bell, have a bell sim card but all my phone funds is rogers Canada and still gets no service. APN is all correct WiFi works great. I have tried switching modems and flashing everything from miui, akop, cm10, and tw ROMs. Its the same everywhere. What is going on? Any help would be awesome.

Just got back from bell, the card was switched and still no network. I'm lost, i might just start with a stock Odin flash and see how it goes. Any other ideas? I won't be able to do that till mid week.

Have you tried checking if you still have an imei number under phone status? But don't post the imei number.

OK so it seems that I have lost my imei number. It shows 0 and the imei sv is 01. So how do u fix that?

I may be wrong but I believe the only way to get the screen to pop up where you enter the code you have to insert a T-Mobile Sim and boot the phone. I've got my code as well but I don't know anyone with T-Mobile so I haven't been able to enter it yet. If someone knows of another method, I'm all ears.

If thats the case,i think any sim card from a diffrent carrier will work.

Just put any simcard other than att and phone would ask for unlock code... Voila! Unlock successful!

You don't need an unlock code, all you need are the APN settings for T-Mobile and add the apn to your phone and select it
What are apn settings, how do you add them. Telus Canada.

Are you trying to put in the unlock code for your phone? No need to modify your APN settings. Your phone uses your provider's APN settings for data access, why modify them? You don't need T-Mobile SIM card. You just need a card from ANY different provider. You're in Canada and on Telus? Get a Rogers or FIDO sim card, put it in, reboot. The phone will promt you to enter the unlock code. Once it's accepted, reboot. Your phone is now unlocked.
Ok, thanks. Have a galaxy s 3, micro sim card, will have to try and find micro sim somewhere.

Hey does anyone know of a good method to unlock the Galaxy s3. My wife is abroad and I need to get her phone unlocked so she can use a sim card, according to Tmobile they can longer do it because of a federal law. Any help Thanks
