[MOD] NFC While Screen Off for the LG Optimus G - Sprint LG Optimus G

To me, NFC is pretty pointless if you have to turn your screen on to get it to work. Isn't the point of scanning programmable tags (for the most part) setting phone settings in a quicker fashion?
Anyways, it is possible to make that happen.
Step 1. Backup your current Nfc.apk in /system/app and throw View attachment Nfc.apk into your /system/app directory
Step 2. Give it RW-R--R-- permissions. You can do this through a file manager or a simple "chmod 644"
Step 3. Reboot and enjoy!
This apk is for android version 4.3. I have only tested it with Shelnutt's CM 10.2 for the ls970 but I'm under the impression it works across most android 4.3 for the LG Optimus G. If my Nfc.apk breaks your NFC capabilities just restore from your backup.

Did you give this a try? It might work... not so sure on the differences between stock and cyanogenmod nfc services and since one is roughly based on the other there is hope. Please share your results if you try.
Stock ROM is a different version of android this was silly of me to ask

here is a flashable zip, not hijacking the thread just for people that want it. i will remove if op desires or if he makes Another zip.
Thanks for this contribution @neighborhoodhacker

Just a heads up... Backed up the app with rom toolbox pro and tried restoring it... No Love, have to manually drop the app back in the /system/app folder.

Will the flashable zip work on CM11?

[Guide][How-to] Add Contacts Tab Back FI25/FI27 Dialer

Here is a workaround to add the contacts tab back into the dialer for builds FI25 and FI27 deodexed stock rom for anyone that wants it.
This flashable zip contains the FI03 contacts.apk and the FI25/FI27 framework.jar (the classes.dex are identical).
Modifying the contacts.apk is a major undertaking so I just used the working one from FI03 (last build with contacts in dialer), the framework.jar was a minor smali edit.
Added flashable stock restore for contacts & framework.
Please download the stock restore in case you need it.
________________________________________________
Howto:
Extract the contacts.apk from the FI25-FI27.Contact.Dialer.Fix.zip and replace the one in the ROM.
Edit FI25/FI27 Framework.jar and replace the attached file:
android/telephony/PhoneNumberUtils$CountryCallingCodeAndNewIndex.smali
It is a very small file. If you want to see the changes, compare them yourself.

Are you running deodexed fi27? As in, not odexed.

That is just one of the files that gets replaced if someone wants to do it themselves but you need to know how to decompile the framework.jar file to do it. I added the how-to so Developers could change their ROM files easily without having to start over from stock.
I flashed the other 2 and and its been working great. Just wast sure if it was something else I needed or an add on mod to give me a new feature. Thanks for the work! I can't understand how Samsung thinks we like having the dialer without the contacts tab.

[MOD][UVDLJA] Long press volume to skip track

ALL CREDIT FOR THIS AWESOME MOD GO TO LOSERSKATER AND HIS WORK HERE
This is a must have feature for me. Took me a few days of googling and failures to finally get it right. Unlike the other long press to skip mods in some of the ROMs here, this mod works flawlessly with every music player I've tested it on.
So I'm just gonna post the android.policy.jar and if someone wants to make a flashable zip I'll add it to the OP.
This will work on any UVDLJA 4.1.1 tmo based ROM and does have the reboot options also.
Use root explorer and put it in system/framework overwriting the original, then set permissions the same as the other files. Reboot. Enjoy.

Stock LG Keyboard [deodexed]

I know some people have been wanting to use the stock lg keyboard on some roms but have been having crashing problems. This is the stock keyboard working fine. Except the touch sounds and haptic feedback, I'm going to try to see if I can fix that. Anyway, I've tested this on Lifeless v14 only. If anybody tests it on other roms with success let me know.
Drop this into system/app and fix the permissions and reboot. Zip is not flashable
Edit: http://www.mediafire.com/?77xptx7aa7ax8x4
You must have the xposed framework to make the keyboard work.
I've tested on stock deodexed, didn't work.

Force closes right after choosing it, it shows in the language and keyboards menu though. This is an ongoing issue with trying to deodex this keyboard, I believe the issue is in the classes.dex files.

I know. But as far as I know it should close on every deodexed rom. That's why lifeless and imperium don't include it. But it works for me on lifeless. I wish somebody on imperium would test it. So I can see if maybe I'm just lucky, or a stock deodex won't work.

Let us know when u find out, I forgot to tell u the the apk is named LGEIMEbin, and its supposed to be LGEIME, not that it helps to name it correctly but fyi, I will be looking at this as well but so far any deodexing will cause the app to not work on my end, and once deodexed there are a whole bunch of string errors when decompiling the app, hence the issue has to be with the classes.dex file as that's the one that gets added to the file when the app is deodexed, the classes.dex are the odex files in the apk.

Would love to see the stock keyboard deodexed for 4.1.2. I just created a custom conversation skin pack (still waiting to make ten posts before I can post links) but with the keyboard that is on lifeless it feels like it's way too bulky and takes up too much of the screen and I want to see my HQ backgrounds in all their glory. Also, the stock keyboard allowed me to path off of the screen and add a bit more control to swiped words.

I'm still trying to figure it out. It's hard to pinpoint the problem because it works for me. Now if I had a phone that it didn't work on it'd be easier. But one day at a time I suppose.

AOSP Compatible S4 Touchwiz Launcher w/S4 Weather!!! Updated 4/17

4/17 - I've now updated it to a flashable zip, you get the S4 launcher and S4 weather widget
I love AOSP roms for the customizability and I also really like the touchwiz launcher so after many, many trials and errors and having to learn how to use apktool to decompile and build apk's i've modded the touchwiz launcher to work for AOSP roms. I know this isn't anything new since it's been done before, what makes this different is the homescreen is a 4x5 layout and the app drawer is 4x6 with a fully themed S4 Accuweather widget. I know a lot of you use custom launchers and this is not your cup of tea, this is for those who like the look of a stock launcher with a custom aosp rom.
The S4 weather widget really gave me a hard time, and because I was just learning it took me a very long time to get it to work but i've finally figured it out and it should work without any problems. Please note that in order to avoid a widget display problem I had to make the widget thumbnail in the app drawer transparent. It shows up just fine once you apply it.
I'll welcome any feedback and all I ask for is a thanks if you like it.
This should be compatible on any AOSP, CM10.1 based roms. I am personally using LiquidSmooth stable version.
Please make a backup and use at your own risk

Wasn't too bad porting the s4 launcher to work. I'm using a TW rom at this very moment so i'm unable to test it on an AOSP rom so if I have any volunteers i'll post the link to the launcher. If you've already installed the launcher from this post then you will just replace the SecLauncher2.apk in /system/app with this one. Rename your original something like SecLauncher.bak just in case you wanna go back to it you could just rename it back to original. This one also has a 4x5 homepage and a 4x6 menu layout.

Don't forget to remove the "s4" from s4SecLauncher2.apk after you copy it over or else it won't work.

Hello again ,
I started getting force closes whenever I used the aosp messaging app or the aosp phone app..this was the case with the initial s3 launcher.
As for the s4 launcher, It wouldn't lemme get to the home screen. Touch wiz kept force closing as soon as I rebooted once I finished pushing the file.
I am on aosp deviant xone BTW .
Thanks

I know what's happening...I forgot to include the badgeprovider.apk which notifies you when you get a text and you'll keep getting force closes without it. I'll upload it here in a second. Just push it to /system/app and fix permissions, and reboot and you'll be good to go. I'll fix the original package and upload it seperately for you so you don't have to download the whole thing again.
Download BadgeProvider.apk
Almost forgot to mention, this will just fix the s3 launcher force closing not the s4 launcher. Still need time to figure it out the s4 launcher on AOSP, works fine in Touchwiz.

[ROM][4.4.2][AOSP]Stable Kitkat for LG G pro[20131230]

Hello, guys!
Finally I have finished my work on AOSP4.4.2 for LG G pro, and in few days ago I fixed the camera too. My phone is LG-e988( the HongKong version), and I think this ROM can be also flashed on e980.
Build from latest AOSP's codes, totally clean and Google's style.
Work list:
Phone
Sms
Mms
Mobile network
Camera
WIFI & BT
NFC
GPS
Audio
Headphones
Storage Mounts
Sensors(except compass)
etc.
Bug list:
Headphones don't work while in call
Electronic compass doesn't work
Waiting for you to find others. If u can, contact me with my E-mail:[email protected], thks! And then, it will be better if u can send me your logcat and dmesg
This ROM need 6.0.4.4 or higher CWM, see this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2536438
e988 can flash it by loki_flash immediately, but e980 need use its own aboot.img to change recovery.img to recovery.lok, I don't have e980's aboot.img. So, sorry!

Well done mate, nice to see some vanilla action! - Will you keep it bare, or plan to add light extras?

You can still apply small tinkering without losing the feel of AOSP. Advanced power menu, toggles etc

You think CM is just toggles and advanced power menu? That is being a bit silly, I am pretty sure the CM team would feel really proud after that comment. If you would like to further discuss please PM me
Back on topic:
Thanks OP, I understand that you would like to keep this AOSP only, I can respect that. It is running very well and I appreciate your work, thank you

OK, got it!
But, it is AOSP, I like it, that's AOSP! That's why I like it I really don't want to make it as an other CM

I can appreciate that I just wish that advanced power menu, toggles, torch and hold back to kill were compulsory in AOSP. These things are so necessary for most users. Happy new year all!
Having a hard time flashing this...I have the latest clockwork recovery but I'm getting an error saying I have to have a geekhd device?

Download freegee from the market and flash the latest TWRP and try again. If freegee didn't automatically reboot into recovery after download then do it manually. Which model do you have

I have been trying to download this rom but the download is just hanging up for me all the time. Can anyone provide mirror on mediafire or some other file hosters?

Then use CM11 or get GravityBox for KK from Xposed. You seem to missing the point to this kind of ROM.
