Hey mate! I've seen this problem before, and mostly it's because you installed a rom wrong. Try installing the rom again via cwm or twrp, and do an absolute FULL WIPE... format the system, data, cache, delete cache, delete dalvik cache etc and make sure you install the rom properly, that way you shouldn't have this problem anymore hope it works! - if you are not using roms, the reinstall and original firmware via flashtool, that might solve your problem... After that, you can try to charge your phone to 100% then drain it to 0% and charge it again, see what it does. Come back with feedback!

I remember having the same problem, and the reason was that i was using a wrong kernel or something. The kernel can be a badass on battery drain, you might want to check that out too

I dont think its that because i was using cyangenmod 9 for ages without problem then like 7 months later boom, phone kept on restarting and when it dead it wouldnt charge. so as i said i relocked my phone and put the laitest stock rom on it and the problem charging still occurs

I just flashed a new rom and it has been booting up for 10 minutes, Is that normal or no?
10 minutes is a bit long. Do you have the sdk set up? If so, type ddms in your command prompt it will open the debug monitor. There you can watch the log to see if your phone is bootlooping.
Some roms take a bit longer for some reason. I have a sort of internal clock these days from flashing so many roms that tells me when it's been booting for a bit too long
I just loaded the Alfonso 4.0.3 rom last night, was taking ages. found out I had to wipe all data, cache etc and try rebooting again for it to work..
thx
Ill try that and lets all hope that it works.!
Android Revolution HD
Just flashed Android Revolution HD 6.2.1 XE through ROM MANAGER. It has taken about 12 minutes so far in its boot up.
Does anyone know if this seems long?
(I'm a NOOB. Sorry if my impatience is taking over. Just anxious to use ICS.)

12 min seems a lil bit long, i needed for the reboot after flash 3 - 4 min....maybe u should try to flash over normal cwm and not rom manager....
The last time I flashed AOKP it was in bootloop about 10-15 minutes so I battery pulled (probably not the smartest idea) and then restarted and it booted perfectly. If you decide to take that route, just make sure you have SDK & adb set up so you can save yourself if you have the need. Aside from that time though ROMs usually only take a few minutes to boot.
*Also if it takes too long to boot I would recommend going back into clockwork and re-wipe/flash and it should, in theory, boot correctly.

If you have TWRP recovery just do a factory reset. Otherwise just wipe system, cache, dalvik, and maybe try a new rom or try again?

I don't recall seeing those rom/kernel.names for galaxy nexus EVER?
did I miss something?
Just hard bricked my GN GT_I 9250 while trying to flash it a factory 4.2.2 with nexus root toolkit. I just flashed the zip file (apparently that was wrong?). It died in the flashprocess and won't even go to bootloader.
there is a guide here, where I'm not allowed to post yet, but I can't install INF driver in step 5 so I though you might have another solution?

Hi,
I've the following problem with my Gio. First, it didn't want to start. When I plugged it the charger, a symbol of the battery appeared on the screen with a yellow triangle, indicating that the temperature is too cold. And it wasn't cold. But I could start up the phone...until I removed the charger. My phone fell out directly.
I had a rooted version of the original firmware, so I tried to connect my phone to Kies. Didn't work. So I flashed a clean rom, 2.3.5 with Odin. My phone is working again, but I still have to connect it to the charger before I can start my phone. If I don't to it, a empty battery appears on the screen. But when the phone is started, I can remove it from the charger and it will still work. But now and than the phone falls out after a while.
At the moment, my phone isn't connected to the charger, but it still thinks that the charger is connected... Picture is attached.
Does anybody here had this problem too? Or do you people know a solution? The problem is, within 2 weeks I go to Sweden for 4 months, so I can't bring in my phone for repair...
Thanks in advance!
Anyone? Or any suggestions? I even can't read the battery gauge, also not in the settings menu. The graph is like a rollercoaster
Maybe you can go to recovery mode and do a wipe, maybe theres a problem with some files.. did you had root and modified something??
I think if you flash another stock rom, fresh, with a factory reset and sd card format, it may fix the problem.. but I havent seen this in xda before, so going to repair centre is good to, but you must be on stock rom and no root or unrooted

maybe you should try to do factory reset before flashing it again
Go to recovery and wipe battery stats and flash a rom with the usual dalvik and data wipes and see if that changes anything.Otherwise idk I never seen or heard anything like this

I had this problem too about a month ago. You don't need to take it to repair center, install cwm (look in the gio big thread for help and dl), go to advanced menu, and wipe battery stats. If that doesnt help, do a wipe data/factory reset.
Btw, i had this too when it was about -15 celsius and i was outside. The Gio doesnt like cold :S

I installed CyangenMod 7.1, an did a wipe data. I also wiped the battery stats. No results. So I think that it is a hardware problem, with the battery... So I will bring my phone to a service center, no other option I think. And flash a stock firmware

Sorry for the dig guys but I'm facing a problem. I was running Gio Pro 1.4 on my phone with A2SD and I noticed the battery was draining fast and I saw the key lights were on even with the key lock so I shut the phone down. When I tried to start it again the phone didn't do anything. I took the battery off, tried downloading, recovery, ram dump mode and only the last one worked but after some time it stopped working also. I tried a friend's battery and nothing. I got home and connected the phone to the charger and everything was normal. I could start the phone, enter recovery, etc. Without the charger the phone was the same, didn't start. I tried a hard reset and nothing so I tried to flash to clockworkmod recovery and to cyanogen rom. The installation went good but I still had that problem. Then I tried to wipe the battery stats, dalvik cache, etc and still the same. I then tried to flash the clockworkmod recovery with odin and the same. I then flashed with an original firmware with every file (incluiding modem) and the phone was working good and I could start without the charger. Now I installed the cyanogen and cwm recovery again and the problem reappeared. Help please?
EDIT: Guys, reflashed with cyanogen and it is now working...Weird..
Just a little bump since the problem came back...
Already flashed to and ICS Rom, back to official rom and the problem's still there, even with the official rom. Any help guys? My battery's in good condition, already wiped everything...I can't find the solution...
EDIT: Sometimes it boots, sometimes it doens't...

Back to the original problem of the yellow triangle and not charging. I googled over and over to find a solution, I came across some askme website that had over 30 people say that DROPPING the Samsung Gio from 2 feet will fix it. I decided NOT to do that but slam the phone slightly hard on a desk. It totally fixes this icon (remove the sim and micro sd before slamming it semi hard).
People were dropping it from 2 feet, but I found slamming it (not hard!) fixes it right away. Now the yellow charging icon is gone and my Samsung Gio GT-S5660!

My phone seems to freeze randomly when I'm using it and when I try to reboot it, it says the battery is completely drained even when it clearly isn't. I then have to boot it up plugged it in to a charger then it'll either charge quickly starting from 0% or it'll jump right back to the percentage it was at when it froze.
This started happening when I flashed from cm9 alpha 6 the cm10 ROM. I thought that the freezing was just caused from the ROM, so I put cm9 back on it, and it continued to do this. I flashed the beta 1 version hoping that would fix it, but the freezing still occurs. Has anyone else experienced something similar to this? Could it be caused by the kernel or modem that I have installed on my phone?

Yes, clean install. Didn't use agats format all though. Wiped both cache. Then flashed the ROM then gapps. Yes, I'm using the op gapps. The ICS ones didn't cause any issues before my phone started freezing up on me.
I'm not running any tweaks or mods. I just load up the ROM for the first time after a fresh install, and it freezes right away.
Just a cache wipe would certainly leave lots behind.

Hi htb,
I replied to your post in the CM10 thread with the following:
I had the exact same issue and it happened about the time I tried a new ROM. For me it was a bad battery. It was physically swollen and obviously bad. My nearest Sprint store have me a new one free.
If you're able, ODIN back to stock and take it in.
If not, a new battery is about $12 on Amazon.
Take out your battery and set in on a flat table. If it's bulged out at all, it's probably bad. It shouldn't spin like a top.
What you're describing is the exact same problem I had. I've tried two other batteries now and the problem seem fixed. No issues with ICS whatsoever. Good Luck!

hello
i have installed a custom ROM I don't know which ROM specifically, but the ROM was 4.3
anyhow i did not feel comfortable with the rom the keyboard did not work , so I installed 4.3 stock rom through ODIN.
the stock rom did not work perfectly sometimes the device reboots itself ...and when i call the screen turns black and I can't use it until i finish the call.
I had four good batteries....
now I can't use two of them ( when I plug them in charger they make the big battery logo fully green , but they keep charging and never shows fully charged unplug message) ..when I turn the phone on its keeps rebooting and never stops .
the other two batteries shows incorrect percentage reading ,like when i charge the phone after its completely run out of battery Its instantly become 40% charged but it's actually less than 1% .
I don't know if its a hardware issue or the system capable of ruining the batteries.( all four batteries had the problem on the 4.3 stock rom) I've tried the batteries on different phone and i experienced the same issue.
i installed 4.4.2 stock rom through ODIN and i did not had the previous (non-battery) issues with it ...but today i turned the phone on and it displayed the samsung galaxy welcome screen (like if it got factory reset) !
and it displays (Unfortunately, S suggest has stopped) when i press ok it displays (Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped) >ok> ( Unfortunately google play services has stopped) >ok> ( Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped) ..... and its keep doing that !
i did cache wipe and downloaded and installed other version of 4.4.2 stock rom and i experienced the same issue.
if i connect the phone to PC the it shows that the total capacity is only 107MB !!
i did not try factory reset i don't want to lose the data if it's there.
is there a way to recover the data?
how can i fix the phone?

OK... so ODIN is working, eh? That helps the situation. Now...
1) If you can get ADB working, probably.
2) By flashing a pit file through either ODIN or (custom) recovery. (I prefer using recovery as it's safer.)
3) Not completely sure, though it (might) be a hardware issue.
P.S. You should NEVER flash stock ROM unless you have a bricked device. I rather you flash CM11 even if you have a bricked device. I never trust stock ROM.

I had that situation of storage earlier.
u have no choice but to wipe all.
if u still can connect ur device to a pc, i would suggest to copy ur data on ur internal storage to ur pc.
after that, earlier what I did was flash the zoot script from cwm and do a custom mega wipe. of course ur internal storage will be wiped. clean until all the folders nd files.
then reboot back to recovery to flash custom rom again.
if u r not rooted the only way is to factory reset full wipe system data nd cache.
wipe cache only won't solve the problem of internal storage.
to be frank, u jump from 4.3 to 4.4.2, u have to factory reset. too many users try to avoid this because lazy to resetup nd backup. but u have no choice.

after that, earlier what I did was flash the zoot script from cwm and do a custom mega wipe. of course ur internal storage will be wiped. clean until all the folders nd files.
then reboot back to recovery to flash custom rom again.
if u r not rooted the only way is to factory reset full wipe system data nd cache.
wipe cache only won't solve the problem of internal storage.
to be frank, u jump from 4.3 to 4.4.2, u have to factory reset. too many users try to avoid this because lazy to resetup nd backup. but u have no choice.

not all ppl like Cm / aosp.
and stock rom is not bad. it is just most ppl don't like to do a clean flash.
without stock rom, u can't use the full feature of spen, and it defeat the purpose of having spen.

I agree that DN3 is great rom.
I also agree that sometimes official firmware also have bugs.
but, I don't agree that custom rom will free of bugs that official have it.
certain bugs will still remain.
don't forget, custom rom is build on Samsung stock base with some enhancement to feel better in smoothness, functions, battery life, as well as user interface.

Not sure why there's an asop vs tw debate going on here... anyway, assuming the op's history is accurate, this sounds like hardware failure
I was in the car running Waze (GPS), full screen brightness in the sun on the dash. Phone rebooted, then stuck in an infinite bootloop. I was running the newest 4.4.3 PacMan. Sometimes it would reboot after the Samsung Logo, sometimes it would just end up hanging on loading on PacMan.
I can get into Recovery. I tried wiping dalvik, cache, data, didn't work. I tried reflashing the rom, didn't work. Tried restoring a backup from February (Pac 4.2), didn't work. Tried installing OmniRom, DIDN'T work! What the hell is going on?
This is an emergency as I'm currently away and need to use my phone. Fortunately I brought my laptop with me.

I was running TWRP 2.6.1.
I ended up Odining to stock, but now realize it might not have been the phone. I use two batteries and a separate charging system. When I Odined, I switched batteries to my full one (not the one that was heated up in the car). This morning the battery I had Odined with was getting low so I switched it out with the one that was overheated. Bootloops on stock! Is this battery fried or can fix it somehow? (I remember with my old SGS there was a "wipe battery stats" in CWM Recovery, I haven't looked into that for TWRP.

Well if the phone turns on then it works but I like using philz recovery some times twrp is weird like but I would give philz a try and just wipe everything but the modem and external sd in I think its mounts and storage and reboot the recovery and when it says something about applying root hit no and then when it boots flash the rom again

But it works fine when I use my spare battery (the one that didn't get overheated).
At the point I think that the over-heated battery is just shot unless it can be fixed somehow. Google isn't helping.
I guess it could make the phone not have enough power but I would just toss it out b4 anything happens to the phone have you ever herd of the zero lemon battery for the note 2?

No I haven't. This was an OEM battery purchased July 2013. I'm annoyed Samsung doesn't stand by their batteries for longer than 6 months.
