I didn't even know that NullDC was an option!
I have a question about your tincore mapping profile. Were you able to setup of the Shield's triggers as analog? I tried to set up tincore myself today, but they only seem to be detected as digital buttons.

Pretty old message.
I added support for output analog triggers in the latest version.

I know this is a little old, but there is a new emulator for dreamcast out
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.reicast.emulator
Reicast, give it a shot it runs shenmue 2 amazingly (though I only did first cutscene so far), but shenmue 1 has graphical problems...BUT games are full speed from what I can see

ICS & Game controllers

Been keen for USB/bluetooth controller support (i.e. 360/dualshock) for ages, and I seem to remember it being suggested that ICS would include this feature - but I don't seem to have seen it mentioned since the unveiling.
Is this still likely to happen on non tablets? phonejoy doesn't really do it for me as I don't particularly want another controller knocking about just for my phone...
There's an app on the market called Sixaxis. Assuming you're rooted, give Sixaxis Compatibility Checker a try and see if it works with your rom/kernal.
Unfortunately, if you're running a stock rom it won't work. (Unless it's changed since the last time I tried)

Thanks, but as I understand it you lose it tv out, plus I'd rather stay on stock...
That being said I've just tried the compatibility checker and it suggests that my phone with stock and Siyah is supported BUT I don't have a dualshock to confirm it works? Would it work?

Actually its working now. I am running XXKI3 rooted with CF-ROOT, but I believe this is not important (older stock should work too). Recently the developer of Sixaxis Controler updated its version, and now its working on S2.
Ofcourse i recommend to try first Sixaxis Compatibility Checker, before buying Sixaxis Controller app.
For now i'm enjoying Tiger Arcade + PS Dualshock 3 pad
The only downside so far.. it does not support more than one pads simultaneously. So no multilayer.

Hi guys,
It's time for a new update...
Just checked the new version of "Sixaxis Controller". The SGS2 is now supported!
So now it works with a stock based ROM + TV Out! I tried it on a Criskelo ROM with the Siyah Kernel. It works fine!
To pair the controller with the SGS2, just follow the instructions listed here:
dancingpixelstudios. com/sixaxiscontroller/instructions.html
To activate the buttons of the Dualshock in FPse you should first disable the touchscreen buttons and set new hardware buttons. F.e. press "Start" hardware button while the optional field is on "DOWN", then press down (by the steering cross or the analog stick) the proceeding with the other buttons is the same..
here i've done a short video to proof the stuff.

Sixaxis and Touch Emulation causing touchscreen to become unresponsive?

I was playing around with SixAxis and Grand Theft Auto 3 the other day, and because no one has found the key binding for Sprint/Accelerate or Shoot to use with Sixaxis + Playstation 3 controller, they resorted to using the newly implemented feature, "touch emulation" in Sixaxis.
The problem is that if you try to use ANY touch emulation, it causes my SGN to lose all touchscreen usage until you do a battery pull and reboot. Can anyone test this for me? (You dont need GTA3, just try the touch emulation and see if your screen becomes unresponsive).
It seems that it causes it to continually tap the same spot over and over, and makes the rest of the screen unresponsive.
Youtube video (with instructions and download links) of the Sixaxis + GTA3 + touchscreen emulation:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypQIJzP145Y
Market Link to sixaxis:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller
Developer website:
http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/
This is a big feature that I would love to have, it would essentially allow me to play MOST touchscreen games with my PS3 controller.
Once I get confirmation this happens to other people, I will email the developer.
Check out my question here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179929&page=53
Here's the dev's answer:
Thanks for that! Looks like it does conform to the Linux type B multi-touch protocol, so it should be fairly straight forward getting this implemented. Working on it now!

So I'm assuming this should get fixed in the next version.
That would be awesome. Props to the devs for getting this out there. I'm sure its just a new feature and buggy.
The Nexus already has an issue with the touchscreen, which I suspect is an ICS driver problem.

N64oid Touch Pads?

This is probably an easy to answer question so here goes... I'm running CM9 RC2 on my Xperia Play and I can't figure out how to map the N64 analog sticks to the Xperia Play touch pads. I heard ICS supports them but I can't find the option to use them. BTW I have the newest version of N64oid (2.7)
Thanks

They should automatically be set up. Try a game that uses them (ie Star Fox 64) and they should already work. Pretty well too.

Are you running CM9 RC2 as well? I tried them on Mario Kart 64, got no results :'(
I was hoping to map the joystick to the left analog pad and the c-buttons to the right analog pad.

No I haven't tried it on CM9 RC2 specifically but I've tried it on the MarkPythons ICS ROM and on the JBX Jellybean ROM which is based on CM10 both of which didn't have anything shown in settings concerning the touchpad but they still worked in game already set up.
oh crap, now they're working! lol, the sensitivity for the left pad is TERRIBLE tho. I admire the fact he added touch pad support to the app but daaaang there needs to be an option to adjust the sensitivity on them!

Which Emulators with Controller?

For Mame Which is the best that works with firetv? Is this a good one? MAME4droid(0139)-1.6.1-MULTI.apk. Any other recommendations?
Also is there one for Sega Master System? brings up memories from the old days. :fingers-crossed:

I'll give the retro arch a shot. thanks for the reply.
I use a Bluetooth Red Samurai gaming controller i picked up from GameStop for $15 for all Android games and Android emulator. No problem and in the back of the controller you have the option of switching from Keypad to Game pad mode.

If you are rooted, try installing the stock 4.2 settings.apk and pairing from the bluetooth category there. That's what I had to do to get my bluetooth keyboard to pair.
Where is that 4.2 settings apk at?
I am tired of being stuck with the old 4.0 version apk.

Two Controllers?
Has anyone been able to get two controllers connector for two player games? Would love to be able to play some old school ROMs with my son.

Yes Retroarch version with mame 2014 rom and two firetv amazon original controller works well. I made a custom build and signed the apk with one click signer. here is the link. I've tested it with double dragon.. I couldn't get two players to work with the official mame4droid.
Works very smooth except when too much screen draw happens. I hope they made a quad core retroarch version. its so close. what game are you looking to play?

Thanks! I don't have any controllers yet but was thinking of picking up a couple so I could re-live my NES glory days. Would be great to be able to multiplayer. Contra comes to mind.
Yeah thats nice. Contra surely was a nice one. I can't think of any two players. I'll get contra tonight and give it a try. any other suggestions?
My old ones are sega master system with transbot and captain silver. with pico. works very well except the stick dose not work and have to use the arrow keys.
Retroarch doesnt seem to work on the Fire TV Stick. Creashes when loading anything or going into settings. Anyone care to confirm?
Which version?
The 1.0.0.2 version works fine, but the later builds still have botched control mapping and some cores refuse to work.
If you have root and know what you are doing, you can install the latest version of retroarch and copy the cores and get back 1.0.0.2 to paste them into it for access to things like Yabause.

Mortal Kombat X Controller support

Does anyone have a sixaxis profile for Mortal Kombat X, or know how to map the Red Samurai controller for the game. The game looks great but I can't connect my PS3 controller or my Red Samurai Controller.
Thanks

None of my devices are compatible, so I can't obtain the apk to sideload.
The only easy way is grabbing it from that one YouTube video, but only with an unlimited money mod.
It used to have an unmodified version, unless it is included still.

You would grab the Adreno download since that is the FireTV's GPU.
Be careful if you download on Windows.
The app is free but with IAP,and I really hope the unmodified apk is included.

I only have my K400r keyboard which works fine with Goat Simulator for Android including the built-in touchpad for onscreen analog movement.
If only they would fix it by adding gamepad support and ditching the REQUIREMENT of touchscreen controls.
It SHOULD play nearly identical to the console versions (it at least looks nearly as good),but they neglected to support gamepads.

I'm quite disappointed with Mortal Kombat X. It's nothing like the previous MK games. more of a tap fest than a real fighter. The graphics are awesome though. I don't think I'll waste the space to have it on my FTV.

WTF is wrong with gamedevlopers these days??
they took away THE element of this game and just transported the graphics.
it really feels like they dont know whats about gaming and fun is at all and concentrate only on graphics and senseless effects.
this feeling you have already on the console versions (way to much weapon/magic tricks) but hey still ok thanks to the wast amount of keykombos you gotta learn.
but this android version is just pure garbage. no controllersupport means this game is useless. its effortless blood and magic mania
what a shame, what a waste

This is more of a card game masquerading as a fighting game. Not bad, if that's the type of game you want to play, but it should be advertised as such.Fighting games are hard on tablet systems such as Android and Ipad. The interface just doesn't work well for multiple button movements. It's lacking the tactile feel of buttons.
