Sbeam and nfc - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

So I'm rooted with vanilla root box, and my friend has the s3 as well, stock unrooted however. I can beam him pics and apps, but can't get anything from him, just says beam failed.
Furthermore, what's the difference between sbeam and NFC?

Nobody knows anything on the subject? How odd...

So this is one of those topics nobody anywhere in XDA knows about? None of you use sbeam or NFC?

AOSP uses Android Beam. Stock uses SBeam ("groundbreaking" Samsung technology). Looks like SBeam isn't fully compatible with Android Beam.
NFC is Near Field Communcation. You can Google that one.

I know what it stands for, but what you're saying is NFC is the technology sending the data, but abeam is just the name of the protocol they use to utilize it?

i was using the buit in streaming function from htc (not sure what its called) ... i was also able to view it with my previous Sony Experia with the built in pop up windows viewer.
Try app called Ustream

I use Ustream and it works great. There's a little widget that will take you straight to live streaming with 1 press of the button which is pretty cool.

Galaxy s4 IR Blaster Capability

Would it be possible to use the ir blaster to control a fan that has a built in ir receiver? P.s. the fan came with a remote that has an ir port

I'm curious to this as well. I'm wondering if it'll work with an AC. I have a feeling it won't though.

I have confirmed an app named smart remote for s4 working on controlling my mothers window air conditioner
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
I would love to see a truly universal remote app, NO TV guide, no other bloated CRAP, just a app that lets you tell it what kind of IR device you want to control and it says "Ok" and then starts blasting IR commands, and THAT'S IT.
I had a universal touch screen learning remote 12 years ago...why can't my damn $600 smart phone do that now?

Did you have to set it up or did you point it at the ac and click on?

Smart remote works great and the are loads of devices that can be controlled... If yours isn't available, just contact the developer. The only thing the app can't do is "learn", but that is because of the hardware anyway.

There is one.....it's called Smart Remote for Galaxy S4
Does anyone know how to add devices to the app?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
The developer(s) behind Smart Remote work FAST! My TV wasn't supported (Sigmac brand) and literally two days after I e-mailed the developer(s) about it, they e-mailed me back saying they had added support. It also works with my Vizio soundbar. Haven't tried my fan yet, though.

Working Google wallet tap n pay mod?

Seriously...I just type "dsploit" in Google and BIMMM, I got it, in top research... Do you want we install it for you ? -_-
Anyway, you have to know, you will not be able to "hack" WPA/WPA2 in an interesting time, and WEP are not famous nowaday.
The idea could be to create a hotspot with big company hotspot name (often, ISP have), with auth-proxy, and save the credential in a DB... my point of view.

Agree But it's hard to hack someone's wifi
You can use something called Reaver, it cracks the WPS Pin. And from that you can get the WiFi key. Only problem is... It isn't compatible with all chipsets, and it takes a dependant amount of time. But it does always work if your WiFi card inside your phone is supported.
PS: you must stay in range too.
Thread closed... We aren't here to use XDA to hack passwords... Also, please use search before posting or creating new threads. Plenty of these already in existence.
