HTC One X - More laggy since update? - HTC One X

Just updated to the latest version with Sense 5.0 - It is quite laggy!
I'd imagine a lot of other people would have this problem - any solutions?

Try cleaning all kinds of cache or factory reset.

Is fast for me, and that's compared to cm10

Yep worked! I'm guessing background apps were not updated to the new version so were slowing down the phone.

This is because HTC Sense takes up quite a chunk of memory, so when you are doing other things and memory is low, HTC Sense gets unloaded to free up memory.
When you exit out the application you see this by having to wait for HTC Sense to reload.
I wish HTC would give the option not to use HTC Sense, does it make sense to fill up the phones memory with something that Android has essentially built in already?
Regards
Phil

Agree.. This is happening too frequently. It actually got worse on 4.0.4 for me on stock. I wonder why nobody else find this issue irritating? Unless I'm the only few unlucky ones..

No, why?

Because it will fix your lag and other problems
An hard reset is advised at each update...

I will lose everything right ? Bummer

You will lose app and settings.
Sd will not touch..
There's an app in the play store called "LagFix Free" that users the fstrim functionality available in linux. You need to be rooted but the works well for tidying the areas in your memory that are constantly filled with cached rubbish wasting memory clusters.
Works in the same way as defragmenting your hard drive.

Phone has been real slow lately. Don't know whether to start from scratch again or no

Been using the AOKP JB 4.1 ROM for several months now. Loved it at first, despite a few graphics glitches and the camera messing up some time, it was great.
Now I'm noticing my phone is as slow as a turtle most of the time now, even locking up often and thy camera rarely works. On top of things like names not appearing when I receive phone calls, it's very inconveniencing.
What I'm getting at is, I know I'll miss the functionality of JB (actionable notifications, quick reply/settings, etc.) but am deciding whether or not to reflash the stock ROM package...
Sway me one way or the other maybe?
Have you tired clearing your cache and dalvik cache from recovery?

Super slow one v

I got this phone maybe 5 months ago and I rooted it and changed roms quite a few times but it is so unbearably slow now on stock Pac man 19.3 and newer versions and pretty much every Rom I've tried. Any ideas? Clearing cache and all that doesn't work it still lags randomly but to the point I have to reset it by holding the power button and any apps including browser freeze the phone. I also tried going to stock that didn't work either.

PacMan is an xtreme hybrid ROM, it's quite slow on devices like this. I suggest going with Shpongle or CM10 if you want an AOSP ROM, or myONEv or Beaver ROM if you want a fast sense ROM.
There's also ignorance now, very fast and stable
