OK tommorow I wanna get this phone but I am on T-Mobile and the phone is for at&t my question is how do I unlock it for T-Mobile and what bands would I receive
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can call and ask at&t to unlock the device for you or you go to cellunlocker.com and pay $7-8 for an unlock code which they'll send you in 5 mins or less. Afterwards, you will need to input T-Mobiles LTE APN settings to be able to use LTE.
Please use the search function.

Make sure you live in a refarmed area or you will only get slow 2G/Edge and no 3G..

Guys,
I so want to buy the note 2 like today. However T-Mobile has no coverage in my area. If I buy the phone at full price I can get it unlocked. Am just wondering if T-Mobile note will work on at&t lte Or hspa+.

The phone does support HSPA+ on AT&T out the box since the bands are included. The phone also has T-Mobile LTE frequency as well, but is said to be locked down by software since T-Mobile does not have LTE up and running yet. I believe T-Mobile and AT&T do use the same frequency for LTE. Only way to know if someone unlocks their device and puts in an AT&T sim.
According to AnandTech review it WILL support ATT LTE. So how does a non-Tmobile user unlock this phone??? I want to use on ATT.
From the review...

One of the most interesting things about the Galaxy Note 2 on T-Mobile is that it literally is the same hardware as the AT&T Note 2 with LTE. Sure, the model number is different, but the T-Mobile Note 2 includes support for LTE bands 17 (which AT&T uses) and 4 (AWS, which AT&T has specced devices out for and T-Mobile has confirmed it will deploy LTE on). This is to my knowledge the first T-Mobile handset with overt LTE support, and thus a solid future-proof purchase if you’re determined to have a T-Mobile handset that will work with the carrier’s upcoming LTE on AWS plans.
In addition, if you unlock the handset there’s no reason it shouldn’t work on AT&T’s LTE network that I can see. I managed to unlock the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 but not before leaving the AT&T LTE market in Dallas. It does however work as expected on WCDMA 1900 in my own market on AT&T after unlocking.
Will the Note 2 work on streight talk as well?
I'm curious if the note II would work on att's 3g network. I'm with Sprint atm but I'm constantly roaming due to poor coverage so I'm assuming it won't be long till they nix my contract and paying $100+ for limited data is just ridiculous to me so I was going to go with TMobile but they only have.edge coverage around here no 3g so I was hoping if I went with TMobile I could use AT&T towers and actually have a decently priced plan with real service.

LTE band might just be software locked since T-Mo has yet to get LTE, FCC filings showed LTE capability. YMMV
So how does one unloxk that?

Most likely your going to need the At&t radio just how At&t note 1 worked on t-mobile 4g by flashing the radio... maybe even a full on rom from at&t version since all the phones now come with the same hardware
Hey guys! I just got my Galaxy Note 2 today and i am already ready to mess with it.
I was looking around and saw some threads saying that T-Mobile and At&t versions of the Galaxy Note 2 have the same LTE band and frequencies. And that you could run a T-Mobile GN2 on At&t LTE...since T-mobile doesnt have it just yet.
I am currently on T-Mobile with a t-mobile SIM. I am curious to if I flash an ATT modem/radio to my T-Mobile GN2 would that give me the ATT lte capabilities?
I don't want to jump the gun and brick my phone the first day i got it lol.
No that doesnt work...no one has gotten it to work yet. But one member is getting an update from tmo for their lte and is gonna upload a backup so the devs can hopefully turn on lte on the phones so when tmo turns on there towers we will get lte

My wife has T-Mobile note 2 unlocked on att sim she gets 4g all day every day it supports 4g icon if that tells you anything.
It Doesn't say lte but says 4g and fast as he**
If you unlock the note 2 via hidden diale menu and throw in att sim, its 4g immediately no APN configuration needed

I will be using a T-Mobile SIM so that is out of the question. But thanks for the information
Just like my topic says I know u can take a verizon Iphone 5 and use a tmobile sim or any cdma phone that's factory unlocked and a global phone use a Gsm att or tmobile sim and you get 4g .But can you put a verizon lte sim in the tmobile note 2 and get service or data for that matter "KEEPIKG IN MIND" these are pentaband phones which supports other carriers 4g or lte. Or would our note 2 have to have cdma radio .
Anyone confirm this would work
.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
3G won't work. Period. Verizon is CDMA while our phones are GSM.
LTE is a bit different though. In theory it should work but after Verizon actually starts deploying LTE on the AWS spectrum but I wouldn't hold my breath because you won't have voice or anything but data and very sporadic at best if it even works at all.

I tried a VZW sim in my unlocked phone, no go.
It might work if you can use voice over lte
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Does anyone know if there is an way to unlock the sim if you buy it outright from a verizon store.
All verizon phones come unlocked so I bet the tabs do too.

i'm really tempted to buy one now. Earlier I was pondering if it was possible to buy it and just put it on the 200mb data t-mobile plan. Seems like JMM2009 confirmed it can work on t-mobile too
I'm sure You could, but you would probably have to set up the line on your account first, then add the apn in the settings.

They are different types of carriers AT&T is a GSM carrier where as Verizon is a CDMA carrier so you can only use the verizon tablet with anothe CDMA based carrier ie: T mobie

I did get the 1gb free plan as it's a promotion until the end of this year but I will keep my free 200mb afterwards

VK810 doesn't have GSM or CDMA radios, just LTE on Bands 4 and 13. Setting it to GSM-only with a GSM SIM card gets you No Service.
Just a question, will a VK810 work in Vodafone Europe (Portugal)?
From my understanding, no, but I will like to be sure.
I just got a korean lg g3 unlocked f400k and it won't pickup lte on Att i got a go phone sim in it could that be the reason? Any ideas on what to do to fix it? Any help would be appreciated this is my first android phone
It probably does not support the LTE bands that AT&T uses to operate it's network on.
Do you have the correct apn? I thought other people was saying that the f400 was compatible with AT&T

Gophone does have lte support. Google att apn settings. I had the f400k and was using it with att and got lte. Keep in mind that the variant you have doesn't have a lte icon. It just says 4g. I did a speed test to confirm I had lte
