Hi i just bought a used samsung galaxy w and I noticed that the back and menu buttons have no light. They work but don't light. Touch key light duration setting is set to 1.5 seconds. Is there any solution to this?
Thanks in advance!
Your device is rooted?

Yes I just rooted it and installed [ROM] [JB 4.3 JSS15J]CM and CARBON -- Kernel 3.4.
The problem was on stock 2.3.6 and it's still now on 4.3.
i believe its a hardware issue not software

Hey guys!
The reason I'm posting this is because I have an issue with the animations when pressing the stock dialer keys.
When I got my Nexus it worked just fine, but after a while it dissapeared.
Now when I press the keys there are no fade in and fade out effects. I flashed back the stock rom: nothing. Now using Codename Android and still the same.
It really isn't THAT important but it's like a mistery to me (why that effect dissapeared).
Anybody???
I just received an N7100 today which I am coming from an S III. On my S III, I was running CM 10 and running the NAV_HomeCamera_Universal mod and it worked great. Looks like it doesn't work on the N7100 though. Do I have any other options on being able to have the stock native menu while also disabling the capacitive buttons?
These will turn off the capacitive buttons.
Tested on:
AOKP MR2
CM 11
You will still have to turn the back lights off manually.

One of these 3:
SlimKat
OmniRom 4.4
CyanogenMod 11
None of them seem to have any menu options relating to turning off the backlight.

They do work to turn off the keylights. However, it also causes the screen brightness to be stuck at maximum. If I use the volume buttons, the system brightness changes (the bar goes up and down) but the screen itself doesn't change its brightness. It also disables the notification light. Maybe you only need to change some values of the file instead of deleting it?

I don't know how to edit that file. Looks like we'll have to wait until there is a menu option to turn them off

Hi there, i've recently upgraded from a nexus 7 2012 to a 2013 version in my car.
I've been using usbhost rom with timurs kernel with the 2012 version and it had some awesome volume up and down keys on the navigation bar (the black one with back, home and recent apps)
Now i'm running stock rom (4.4.2) with timurs kernel with my 2013 nexus 7 and i was wondering is there anyway to get those kind of volume keys on the stock rom?
The closest I've been so far was with Ultimate Dynamic Navbar, but when i hide the original softkeys and only have this, the screen is "fullscreen" so the navbar overlaps the lower portion of the screen (which i dont want)
Help would be greatly appreciated!
I've attached an image on how it looked on 2012

Running stock, you would probably be looking for an Xposed module. Maybe this one? http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.gzplanet.xposed.xperianavbarbuttons
I don't know, I don't use it.

Thanks for the reply.
Tried it out, it only allows you to add 'menu' and 'search' buttons (+ rearranging and theming).
Sent a pm to the developer and he replied: "I plan to add options to define the function of each button. I don't know if it's possible to control the volume using these buttons."
So, maybe there's a chance with that if there is no other solution available.
Just following up on this. Did you find a solution?
There is a mod someone made that adds volume buttons to the navbar through xposed ....
